What an incredible team at Torbay hospital the
A&E department were superb! Quick and so professional, the porter was fantastic transporting me to the SRU where the staf were just amazing, so courteous, so professional, yet so warm and caring! They did everything with a smile on their face! The Trust, hospital and departments should be so proud of their staff, working tirelessly and ALWAYS with care and attention. I’m so proud of this brilliant hospital!

Torbay Hospital from start to finish, excellent. Had a neck lump and fast tracked, Mr Oliver McLaren my specialist had me ultra sound scanned, MRI and PET scanned and admission for surgery booked rapidly. Just an onight stay after neck op, so from initial clinic on 9 June to discharge from Warrington ward on 31 July all over and done with. Turned out to be a cyst so the big C, happily ruled out. Overall comment from first clinic to ward discharge, keep up the good work. I'd last been an inpatient some 10 years previously and one thing in particular struck me, the food has improved immeasurably. I actually enjoyed the two meals I had there!

From start to finish it has been a nightmare. But my biggest complaint is the discharge lounge. They have imported an air conditioning unit to counter act the very hot weather uk is experiencing. It's colder than the morgue in here.
I have been waiting nearly 5 hours at time of writing for my medication to arrive.
We have just been asked what we would like for dinner, ( which is exactly the same question I was asked before leaving the ward to go to the discharge lounge.)
I will send a note to the person that is paying exorbitant parking fees waiting for my release. It is an absolute disgrace.

Went to reception to find where patient was. Gave the lady the name and birth date. First she put the name in wrong x2, so couldn't find him. Then she found she had put the birth date in wrong, I accept that as she was foreign she may need a little leeway but as for not understanding dates and spelling, maybe she should be in a depth that does not require use of this. It was only because a colleague of hers was standing next to us listening that we finally got her to put the correct details in. If she wasn't there we may have been persuaded that he had been discharged (although we knew when we rang earlier he wasn't being discharged)

On the 28/09/25 your hospital gave me ciprofloxaxcin knowing I have severe heart failure after one day I was very poorly I called your hospital and the doctor to ask if I should take them with severe heart failure you all said yes carry-on then on the 02/10/25 I had a stroke isn't that funny ciprofloxaxcin should never be giving to someone with severe heart failure but you knew that didn't you it's all with my investigation team now along with tampering with medical records along with the doctors receptionist tell me I can kill myself with all my heart meditation along with the police trying to frame me and steal my money can't wait to read all about it can you? All because the police dragged my mother out of a bank without a phone call being made and then she committed suicide two months later well done you must so proud of yourselves

If my review was just about A&E I would have given 3 stars due to a wait of over 8 hours but after admission to Warrington Ward it was a different experience. Kindly caring staff who could not do enough for me the food was excellent and fresh.
Although still not well I received the best of care and left much more comfortable

Torbay hospital have been tampering with my medical records trying to make out that I wasn't in hospital February last year for severe heart failure and blood clots on Dunlop ward they refuse to send me my discharge papers electronically because they have tampered with them the same as George earl ward who sent me a message the other day for stroke medication review but I'm not on stroke medication I'm only on heart medication and blood clot finners I called them up to find why my doctors who are also tampering with my medical records haven't received a letter and neither have I received a letter they just lie in order to make out I was on a mental ward so the police can frame me because they are guilty of my mother's suicide and to hack my phone to get my address to close down my bank account this is totally criminal and cowardly now it's time to take you all to court and because they are going to say I don't need any medication I will die as a result so I'm going to take myself away without any medication and starve myself to death just like my mum did this a result of the hospital police and doctors you all have our blood on your hands

I just want to say right from the volunteer helper, nurse Pearl, anaesthetist and his team, Consultant Mr Barrington, all other staff on daycare admissions, post op recovery ward staff, porter and day surgery ward staff ,you are an amazing team. I felt safe and cared for at all times. You put me at ease and helped me when I requested help. Nothing was too much trouble. Torbay should be very proud to have just dedicated staff working for them. I fully understand how hard your job can be, but all those smiles and positive encouragement really helped me today. Carry on the excellent work.

I took my husband to A & E as he was in acute pain. It was Friday evening with at least 15 ambulances waiting outside. He was Triaged with in five minutes and given pain relief. However we then had a five hour wait to be seen by a doctor. That waiting time was not pleasant. At least a third of the people in there waiting to be seen where either wanting Morphine so making up conditions, drunk or accompanied by police. There was a lot of swearing and for us "normal people" it felt quite scary at times. . The staff spend so much time dealing with their issues it takes them away from helping people with genuine conditions. Total time wasters and using up valuable NHS resources and Police time. At one point five policeman dealing with just one person! Also what was odd and again time wasting- about ten peoples names were called but no one responded - either they had gone home -( fed up of waiting) or outside having a smoke and socialising in a little group. The toilets were another delightful experience! The people on drugs were using them to carry out what ever people on drugs do in toilets - and during our five our wait in A&E not once were they checked or cleaned. Despite all of that i do give it a three star as when my husband was seen by a nurse or doctor they were professional, polite and was able to give him the medical treatment he needed.

Was taken to A & E a few weeks ago after a fall at home, although adamant did not want to go.
No care, compassion or kindness, if my vet treated my dog like I was treated would change vets, Didn't wait to be discharged, did it myself & went home.

Phoning Torbay Hospital appointment booking sevice. Message' High volume calls 4 before mine expected over 10 minutes wait. After 30 minutes told 3 calls before mine - expected waiting time 1 MINUTE! NOW 45 MINUTES AND STILL WAITING AND TOLD 1 CALLER BEFORE ME AND EXPECTED WAITING TIME 1 MINUTE!
. This system is not working , messages are incorrect . Now 48 minutes will have to release call before 60 minutes as will cost £££££'s. Appalling service

I was rushed in to hospital recently and spent 5 days in the Allerton ward. Having been fortunate and never been in hospital before the experience was daunting and scary. However the staff on the Allerton ward were absolutely fantastic. The level of care and support was exceptional. The staff were so friendly, comforting and cheerful which was fantastically theraputic and lifted you when your spirits were down.
I can not praise them highly enough.

Arrived with my son who was seen straight away , bloods done and diagnosed within 4 hours. Amazing place this will be 100% my familys desired hospital.

The whole experience was excellent
Everyone who dealt with me was kind,friendly and helpful
We even had a laugh as I was the first person to have a yellow sparkly cast!

They offer limited emergency treatment to patients with alcohol problems. Patients gradually deterorate over time, develop brain damage,cirossis , numerous other conditions and die. Community assistance is good for patients with drug problems but poor, almost non existence for patients with alcohol problems. In contrast patients in European countries receive genuine sincere help with a range of therapies and medications, not just librium using an outdated ridiculous form. I have been in hospital in Lisbon and Nicaragua both hospitals were much cleaner than Torbay. They even smet cleaner.

Torbay Hospital appauling not clean areas are dirty .
Dr Summers dropped part of a disposable endoscope in my mother and to 30minutes extra to remove the part . He blames faulty equipment clearly the equipnent was not pre checked and faulty equipment was used .
Dr Summers is an extremly violent and abusive individual when i spoke to him he was shouting abuse
He clsims my mother was in no pain . Dr Summers is the olny Doctor in the world who knows exactly the pain a paitient is in a complete joke

I cannot speak more highly of the care I received at the Urology Department at Torbay Hospital. The skill of the surgeon, Mr O'Rourke, and the care and dedication of the staff in the Recovery Ward and in Cromie Ward are world class. We are so blessed to have the NHS.

As I write this review, my 90 year old mother is face down on the floor in her own urine in severe pain waiting for some kind ambulance crew to attend.
I was told of her fall after her alarm was activated at 12.51, it is now 21.49, we are approaching 9 hours.
Stop going on about how wonderful the nhs staff are, so is the plumber or electrical down the road. If they really cared, would they allow this to happen.
I’m an only child fast approaching 70, and live some 200 miles away, you can imagine the stress this is causing me.
I’m ashamed of this country and those who govern us, this is not the way to treat an old lady, shame on you!
We used to treat our elderly with dignity and decency.

Torbay hospital. Utter awesome staff and care beyond the call of duty. 5 stars are not enough. Just breathtakingly awesome.
