I employed Tradeglaze Maidstone after they were recommended by our good friends.
Our friends and 2 other members of their family had used Tradeglaze Maidstone several years ago, and had received excellent after sales service.
we made contact with Tradeglaze Maidstone requested a visit.
We were asked by Mr and Mrs Hewitt how we had heard of them, we gave our friends names and they gave other details of their installs so we were confident we were using the same people.
Unfortunately we found out the hard way that the Hewitt's only took over Tradeglaze on the 21st June 2021.
To say we did not receive the standard of care and consideration that our friends received is a very big understatement.
Our order was changed without our consent.
The two door side panels were changed.
We were missing items such as a letterbox and the same locks on both front doors to make opening easier.
We were missing our 90 degree door stay .
The wrong glass was fitted in hallway ( we did agree to keep this )
I paid the balance on 14th June which took my total to nearly £11000, as I had spoken to Stuart Hewitt on that day and he had promised to look into our issues.
He said he had ordered the missing door stay, and I should let him know as soon as it arrived.
He told me his fitter would be straight out to fit it.
I told him on the 15th June that it had arrived.
Nothing heard from Stuart regarding fitting.
Chased him up by message again on 20th June and had a blunt message saying fitter would be around that afternoon.
Fitter came but said Stuart had ordered the wrong stay as it was for a UPV door and not a composite door.
He said he had told Stuart what he needed to order but Stuart had ignored him. A very moody and rude visit. i waited a few days expecting Stuart to contact me and apologise and arrange fitting of the correct door stay.
Unfortunately we had not heard anything by the next week.
I emailed Stuart listing all of our complaints and received a very rude reply stating I only had 5 days to complain as it stated in his terms and conditions, and it had now been 2 weeks.
He ignored the fact that I had been trying to deal with one of the many issues since I made full payment on the 13th June.
Our composite front door was unusable by my 83 year old mother who has lived with us for 3 years , due to the tiny thumbturn fitted by Tradeglaze and the lack of any other knob or handle.
We made Stuart aware of this but were ignored.
A few weeks after the install my wife also started having issues opening the front door.
It kept sticking and even visiting relatives needed help opening it.
This was again raised to Stuart as a potential fire risk .
We have a severely disabled adult son and my 83 year old mum who is crippled with arthritis.
We were ignored again.
After 5 months of constant complaining and threatening with court ( including emailing Assure several times ) Stuart sent a fitter to repair the front door.
Unfortunately despite the promises that all the issues with the door would be addressed, we still did not receive the door stay ordered and paid for in June. All other issues have been dismissed by Stuart and Sharon Hewitt.
I have paperwork to prove all of our claims. I sent photos with my emails.
They denied receiving my letters ( including a letter before court ) despite them being sent special delivery at a cost of £7.95 each.
We even had photos of the letters on their office desk.
We have been treated with contempt.
We have never received any form of apology for any of the issues we have had.
I have asked for proof of their claims many times but unsurprisingly it never materialises.
I would advise taking caution if using this company.
We are looking at taking them to court, as 7 month's after I paid Tradeglaze in full, we have still not received everything we ordered and paid for.
They are ignoring my emails again and it is obvious they have no intention of fulfilling our order .
They certainly have no intention of putting any of the discrepancies right.
They also used photos of our property on their Facebook page calling us satisfied customers. My 83 year old mother is still unable to open our front door, and my wife has had to ask me to open it for her on several occasions. This poses serious safety issues if we were to have a fire.
