Do not waste your time purchasing a vehicle from these scammers. They import unique looking vehicles to make it seem like you found a good catch knowing damn well their vehicles are mechanically screwed. Their cars need a lot of work straight off the bat and you will only know this if you spend $200 on a vehicle inspection or you find out a couple months down the road once you've bought it and YES they will be more than happy to sell you a car that's on the verge of breaking down. They buy their Japanese auction cars knowing they're in bad condition. If you know about the Japanese auction grade system a grade 1 is trash and a grade 5 is immaculate. I'm positive Universal Imports buy grade 2 cars and sell them at a grade 4 price! I know car dealers in general are all a bit dodgy but this company takes it to a whole other level!! Do yourself a favour and just move on to the next..

Went for test drive , no petrol, managed to get $50 gas. Oil black, water coolant, diff bushings cracked. 11.5k for a 1999 Nissan avenir gt4s. Ripped off

My experience with Universal Imports ended at the disputes tribunal and Fairgo after refusing to pay me the money they were directed to by MVDT. I lodged a complaint of non-compliance with the traders register, if they get another strike they can be banned from trading. They are dishonest, sell cars that aren't road worthy and in my case threatened "to silence me for good" because I involved Fairgo. This happened in 2021 and I see they are still up to the same dishonest tactics. Stay away from this outfit.

Dishonest, they did not receive the money for a car purchased by my nephew when he arrived from overseas. He paid again. After weeks of the bank chasing the money, he was advised that the car dealer received both transfers. When he contacted the dealer, they advised him twice, including in writing, that they had spent the money and couldn't return it! How to ruin someone's holiday. It was 11k. Buy somewhere else.
