Fantastic customer service and a genuine passion for watches. I've used they guys are few times now and they came recommended from a serious watch collector friend of mine. Once for my dad's 1976 Omega Speedmaster and just now for my 2006 Speedmaster. Service on both watches and the main spring replaced on the 2006. I wouldn't trust my watches with anyone else, not even Omega. Ray, Johannes are exceptional and do everything 100% right. Even on a service you'll get a link to around a hundred photos of the work carried out - great to keep with the watch as provenance. Honestly I can't rate highly enough and excellent valuer for money too. Thank you Ray, Johannes and the team.

Have used Christian, Johannes and Ray for a couple of services. Omega Speedmaster, Schumacher ltd edition and Submariner 16800 from 1983. Great service both times.

Very reasonable price too - with a good system for keeping you updated with progress. It's an automated system. I started approx number 40 in the queue, then went down to 35, 33, 30 and then all of a sudden work was started and it was finished. That was a pleasant surprise. So I'd say it's useful system and hopefully means you'll get your watch back a bit quicker than you might think at first.

Submariner is now running great. Pressure test completed too. No unnecessary dial changes like Rolex might do. And around £800 cheaper.

Would definitely use again and have recommended a friend to get his Submariner serviced by them as he has never serviced it in 20+ years..🤣

A big thank you to Johannes and his team for the excellent work done on two vintage Ollech & Wajs chronos entrusted to their care. Superb communication during initial enquiry and indication of turn-round time. There's good visibility on their booking system of job processing and images of work done through to invoicing and dispatch. Altogether a most impressive service and highly recommended.

My 26 year old Omega Seamaster Professional has recently been serviced by this company. The service from first enquiry to receiving my watch back in a sleek kevlar type protective pouch was first class. The customer Portal is excellent, allowing you to keep track of the progress of the watch while in their workshop. You even get a multi photograh sheet showing each and every step. In short very impressed. Well Done.

Had my Seamaster with the 2500 Co axial movement serviced. Good turn around time, watch returned cleaned but not polished and looked far better than when sent to them. Returned in a smart small travel case which was a nice touch. Regulation had to be tweaked by them, but seems fine now.
Would recommend and will use again.

Johannes, Christian and Ray, thank you. This is the second time I have used you to service and repair rare and complex watches that few other repairers are prepared to touch. You combine excellent knowledge along with brilliant customer service. The Lemania 5100 movement in the Porsche Design Chronograph 1 that you repaired, is known to be a tricky blighter. But the work for you was effortless, being able to find parts and get it running to a high standard. I love the web page you create with photos and updates of the service in progress. I definitely recommend you to any watch collector. I think this is as much a passion as a business for you.

What a fantastic experience having my vintage Rolex cleaned and serviced by the team at Watchguy. Ray took charge and the level of communication was excellent. Emails were answered quickly and were always helpful and informative. Photos uploaded showed the various stages of the service which was really useful. I’m struggling to think of any better customer service and value that I have received, ever.

I inherited a vintage Rolex when my dad passed away around 20 years ago. It hadn’t worked for the last 15 years. Having taken it to a well known high street Rolex retailer, known for supplying lots of Watches from Switzerland (ahem) I was told that a repair would cost et least £1,800, would take at least 12 months and the watch would have to be sent to Switzerland.

A friend then told me about The Watch Guy. Here I am, less than 3 months later, sitting somewhat misty eyed, looking at my dad’s working watch on my wrist and only around £500 worse off, despite the discovery of rust in part of the movement, when the watch was opened.

The entire process has been…well, joyous. I was kept in constant contact with these incredibly talented and skilled craftsmen. I have a collection of photos of the internal workings of my watch, stripped down, cleaned and reassembled. I was provided with all the original parts that had to be replaced, when my watch was returned.

More importantly, I have my dad’s watch, fully restored, cleaned, tested and working beautifully. I cannot recommend these guys highly enough.

Johannes has done an exemplary job on my watch and went the extra mile despite it taking extra time. I'm super happy with the service and would not hesitate to recommend Watchguy for both repairs and service. Johannes was both friendly and fastidious in doing a great job and kept me regularly informed. I really appreciate his efforts.

We were on the 4th day of our holiday when my wife noticed water inside my Rolex DateJust. This was made worse as it could have been sea water.
Upon our return I contacted Ray (who had serviced my watch before) and told him what had happened. He very kindly let me jump the queue. I delivered the watch and by the time I had driven 45 minutes home he had opened it to investigate. Fortunately, there was no damage nor corrosion.
Ray then completed a full service, replaced the seals and pressure tested my watch.
Whilst the watch was being serviced I received detailed updates on progress, needed replacements and a set of photos of the disassembled watch.
The service from Ray (watchguy.co.uk) is just awesome; above and beyond.

I’m truly delighted that I have found folk I can trust to do a proper job, as it’s not easy to find these days. The company keeps you up to date with your place on the waiting list. When the work commences, on line photos allows you to see what is being done to your watch.

I have just had a full service done on a vintage Omega Pie Pan chronometer and it is now keeping truly excellent time. 👌🏻

This is the second time I have used the company and certainly won’t be the last! 👍🏻

Patek Calatrava. I bought it a while back with unknown service history. Christian had a quick look and said it's all fine, correctly oiled, no need to service. Very low cost to me as no unnecessary work, and now I have photos of inside and movement number and assurance that it will probably live longer than I will.
JLC Alarm clock. This had poor time keeping. Christian serviced the balance without wasting time dismantling bits which weren't the problem. Again, very low cost to me as no unnecessary work.

I couldn't be more pleased with the service I received from Christian and his team! From start to finish, the communication was excellent—clear, professional, and always prompt. Every question I had was answered quickly, and I was kept updated throughout the process.

The work itself was carried out to an exceptionally high standard. My watch was returned in perfect working order, looking and performing better than ever. The turnaround time was impressively quick, yet nothing felt rushed—just efficient and meticulous craftsmanship.

It’s rare to find such a combination of skill, professionalism, and outstanding customer care, but this service delivered on all fronts. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for expert watch repairs.

As evidence I have my bank's receipt of £50.00 from Mr Christian Danneman at Watchguy: I have a screenshot of his web page (to which it seems that he has cut the link) showing the admission that he left a screw loose, and plenty of his sarcasm in his emails to me, or you can just look at his responses to other complainers in Trustpilot, here: he serviced my Seiko 6039 chronograph but by the morning after it was returned it had lost twenty minutes: I returned it, for it to come back to me with no fault found. By the next morning it had stopped completely, so I returned it, to be told that a screw had not been fully tightened! I collected the watch, and suggested that I should be compensated for time, trouble and poor service. Mr Danneman immediately, if reluctantly, paid me the £50.00 I suggested. As I left, of my own volition, rather than being 'turfed out', in a moderate friendly tone I told his noisy dog to be quiet: at this I was sworn and shouted at for a few minutes. I left. Mr Danneman's emails are often sarcastically condescending: I regret using his services (in spite it being mentioned more than once that I prefer my watches to gain, if they cannot keep accurate time, it still loses). I would sue him for defamation but that would require his two employees to testify against him, which I am loath to do.

I've used Watchguy twice with very positive results so I sent in my father's old Seiko Sea Horse that hadn't worked for many years.

Their communication is unparalleled leaving you secure in the knowledge that your treasured possesion is in good hands. Your watch is given a dedicated webpage that updates its status in the service queue then when it gets into the hands of the watchmakers you're given step by step photos of the work carried out which gives a fascinating insight into the complex work they carry out on your watch. This Seiko had been slightly butchered during a previous service by another watchmaker but Ray and the team corrected this and sourced the genuine parts, for all this work they charged me a mere £10.

I've had it back for a few days and it's running beautifully, this watch sat unused in a draw for two decades and now it's my daily wearer that keeps my other watches in the watch box.

Brilliant service, my Rolex Perpetual Datejust was well overdue a service (20+ years overdue!) and to say I am more than pleased with the service given is an understatement, together with a reasonable cost and a watch that was returned to me looking superb.

After reading some online reviews and looking at their website I sent my Omega Speedmaster, which is very precious to me, to them for a service. Their communication was great, keeping me informed all the time about the progress of the watch, which I really appreciated, and uploading pictures of the service. They (quite rightly imo) don't polish cases as part of a service but they cleaned my Speedy (which I thought was already pretty clean...) so it looked as new. The winding mechanism is much smoother than before and it is keeping near perfect time in contrast to the +20 seconds a day. Suffice to say I am absolutely delighted - thanks so much Ray and the team!

I have just received my Omega Seamaster back from Watchguy after a strap repair. This is the third time that I have used them, once for a movement repair and once for a major service. I find them reliable and well priced. I wouldn't send my watch anywhere else.

These guys are great.
My 1970's speedmaster had the two dial feet broken off ...... probably due to abuse by me.
They tried to fix it and save me money but the fix didn't work so they helped me source a new dial and then fitted that. In otherwords they did a lot more work over an above a normal service and didnt charge me any more.
It is now consistently accurate to about 2 seconds a week!

In 2014 I had a sadly neglected mid 1960’s Seamaster Cosmic overhauled and restored by Christian and his team. Came back in mint condition. Could not be happier.

A decade later I have just engaged again with Christian and his team. I am seeking a review/repair of a late 1960’s Automatic Seamaster Cosmic. The latter Watch is misbehaving after half a century of regular use and some diffident servicing by local “watchmakers”.

My point.

Vintage watches all have a story to tell. No less so than in my case where the watches are both freighted with much sentiment. Judging by reviews Christian and his team continue to respect the sentimental reservations of owners in trusting heirlooms to strangers.

I am in Australia and sentiment aside, the “tyranny of distance” is often a problem for us Down Under seeking heirloom Watch repairs from US and elsewhere. I have no hesitation in recommending Christian and his team for repair projects with a sentimental history.
