Had a lucky escape by the sounds of a lot of these reviews! I visited this store in January. With no previous experience of trying wedding dresses on and liking how easy and straight forward the process sounded on the website and the way it was worded also sounded like there was a good chance you could take a dress away the same day, we decided to go.
Upon getting to the store, we found the door locked and after knocking and standing around for a fair few minutes a member of staff came to let us in. Upon walking in, I was asked for my name, address, wedding date and email address (this seemed very extreme and we almost left at this point) but we were told I couldn’t try on anything until I’d given these details over.
I was handed 3 plastic tags and told “go and find 3 dresses you like and put the tags on them, then let us know” and with that the 2 members of staff disappeared. Everything was in thick plastic bags and was very difficult to see what was in them. Somehow we managed to find a couple and went to try them on.
Each dress I tried on came with a commentary of what could be altered, added or taken away. We found this very strange as surely you buy the dress you like not one you expect to fully change to look completely different. The staff member who “helped” us was rude and dismissive. I said I didn’t like the colour of one (it was a very dark beige) and was snapped at “it’s champagne!”. After the 3 dresses were tried on the staff member walked away, it became apparent after a few minutes of me waiting on the plinth that she wasn’t coming back, nor was not looking for a different dress for me to try on as initially thought. All in all our bizarre experience thankfully lasted 18 minutes from entering to exiting the outlet. We actually quoted on the way out that we’ve been in changing rooms in high street clothing shops longer and have received better and much more attentive service in them too! Needless to say we left feeling very deflated by the whole experience and not wanting to ruin the day we ended up going to another store. We were treated like valued customers, given time, listened to, spoken to so lovely and not to mention found my dream dress! We spent well over £1000 with them and didn’t begrudge a penny of it. So glad we received the poor service we did, otherwise I’d probably be stuck with a dress I didn’t really like, in the wrong size or even worse- without a dress, judging by some of the other reviews. To add insult to injury, this company have bizarrely used my name on their website and a snippet of a Facebook comment to imply I’m a satisfied customer! I’ve ofcourse emailed them and asked them to remove it ASAP, just hope this gets acted on. I’m disgusted with the service and the way they treat their potential customers and feel so glad that I didn’t part with hundreds of pounds to these absolute amateurs.

WED4LESS have tried to have my review removed by insinuating it isn’t a genuine review. I have been asked by the company to provide more details (I did so because I want my review to remain on here as a true and honest reflection of my genuine experience). Just goes to show how sketchy they are again. Since posting, I also recall another dodgy business tactic used in their stores, they do not allow photos to be taken of any of their dresses. I assume this is so comparisons can’t be made if a dress is ordered, so when the dress arrives and it is of inferior quality or a different design, no proof can be shown. I wonder how many negative reviews this company have successfully had removed through people not wanting to give their details to them to prove the review is genuine. I am appalled that they have tried to have my review removed. I have not bothered to read their response, as I know it will be passive aggressive, dismissive, argumentative and utter nonsense. I have seen the way they have responded to other negative reviews and it sums the business up in a nutshell really.

I visited Wed4less today to try on dresses after having an awful experience the week before at a well known wedding dress retailer. This appointment was so far removed from last week. Carol, who looked after me, made me feel welcome and at ease right from the start. I have recently lost a lot of weight and don’t see myself as I actually look now and my confidence is low. Carol took the time to get to know me and we chatted like old friends. One thing Carol said really struck me. She said ‘we sell dresses, we don’t make them fit you or look this beautiful - that’s down to you’.
So with Carol’s help I chose my perfect dress which is far from what I thought I would choose. Thank you so much Wed4less and Carol - what a diamond, thank you.

This was the first shop I had a look at for my wedding dress and I fell in love with the dress, the staff was absolutely amazing Heidi made me feel so welcome and so comfortable to try on dressers and helped us with everything we needed.

Lovely experience. A calm warm welcome from Katie, and a massive rage of dresses to pick from. Tired on 3 out of my 4 dresses I picked, all 3 were beautiful, felt relaxed enough to be honest, what I liked and didn’t like about each dress. Before even trying the 4th I picked Katie went off and found a dress she thought I would love or at least settle what I was more comfortable in/looking for. That dress was the one! She listened and picked up on clearly how comfortable I was in the others. It just needs taking up a little and Katie again was helpful in giving me seamstresses contact information, wrote down my material and explained what they would do. Couldn’t recommend a better shop. Thank you

Went to Wed4Less yesterday and had the most amazing experience, Selina was so helpful, making sure to understand what I liked and didn’t like about certain dress and helping me understand what would work for me. I ended up buying my dress here it was absolutely beautiful and Selina made the process so easy. I would highly recommend buying your dress from here, they had so many beautiful options and the service was amazing.

Hollie was amazing from the beginning right through to me saying yes to the dress. Thank you for everything. X

Have visited this shop with my future daughter in law on 2 occasions this year (2026). On both times the staff provided an excellent service and made her feel special. There was no problem with her trying on as many dresses as she liked and re trying when she had 1 left to chose from. We purchased a dress and veil and would highly recommend this shop to others.

Michela made the experience amazing she was very helpful and supported me with everything I needed. I was really anxious going here being plus size but they have plenty sizes and all different choices usually plus size dresses aren’t as pretty as smaller size but they have loads of beautiful dresses! I also wasn’t singled out or treat based on the fact I was bigger she was inclusive and just treat me like a normal person. I had such a great experience! Thank you so much for helping me choose my dress! Highly recommend!

Had a great experience finding and buying my dress at wed4less. The whole process was straight forward and a very positive experience. I arrived with no appointment and was able to try on debatable dresses, my filter Paris was so lovely and made me feel so at ease. She was very polite and helpful and very patient. I came back a second time , again with no appointment and was able to find my perfect dress thanks to her help and take it away with me the same day. The dresses are excellent prices and fantastic quality, highly recommend this place.

I visited the Burton store this week with high hopes. I feel that the ethics of this company are all wrong - i was greeted with a smile, given guidance on what sizing to go for and how to select what I wanted to try on and I entered the changing room full of expectation. So far, so good.:.:Imagine then, being met by a sign that says if you don’t intend to buy anything or are just “trying to get an idea of style” (isn’t this the whole point of trying on dresses?) then you shouldn’t try on more than 3 dresses.
This made me then feel that after 3 dresses if I tried on any more I was commiting to
Buying; which as the first shop I had been to, i wasn’t willing to do so I left.
As a sales manager myself, I have to say it’s such a shame that you don’t just have the faith in your sales staff to deliver such a brilliant journey that people want to buy from you without the passive aggressive notices on the wall. I sell beds - should I put a sign up saying don’t try more than 3 mattresses unless you’re going to buy one? Absolutely not - I let people try as many as they want and deliver the best service I can in the hope that they will buy.
It was also a little disappointing to have been told that I could add sleeves to any dress but then my friend had to go and search the shop for something to put on my arms to try and mimic the look.
In total contrast, I went to a different retailer who couldn’t do enough for me. Let me try on every dress I wanted, ran around after me, brought me drinks (and sleeves) and ultimately gained over £1000 of my money.
Drop the high pressure sales tactics, trust your sales team, have less aggressive signs on the walls and I can guarantee your turnover will increase. People buy from people and this experience fell very short.
I fully expect a response trying to justify the signs along the lines of “it’s unfortunate but necessary because…” but maybe just take the advice as constructive feedback and make some changes.

I said yes to my dress at wed4less Rotherham.
Can not fault any of the staff , they were all fantastic. Especially Katie who has been so kind and patient with me . I now have my dress my 4 bridesmaids dresses and mother of the groom dress all sorted thanks to Katie.

Deposit for dress paid on 18th May, 10th july they couldnt supply the dress, wedding was on 24th July, and would also have to of been altered by a seamstress.
We were apologised too, with £50 paid to bride as a gesture of good will, told £350 Deposit would be returned on recipient of an email promising not to give a bad review.
The bride did this, and we are now 3rd Sept, told several times money has been paid into my back into account... well no it hasn't!
25th July, charge back started with bank, wish I could add photos as I have screen shots of ALL emails stating the above..
I wouldn't recommend WED4LESS to my worse enemy... stay away for a stress free wedding.
So today, 7th October, I won my case & got my 350 deposit back...
Never ever will I step food in WED4LESS, and I shall forever continue to tell anyone and everyone to stay away, dont let them spoil one more special day ....
This is added after your reply.... you have told me from 10th july my money would take 5 days to go into my bank... then again told me it is definitely in the bank & to take it up with them.... this was on 25th july... you replied to natwest saying you was fighting the claim as I hadn't gone about reclaiming it back the right way ....
Thus is when they began the chargeback for me !
Should never of got that far, you lied more than once, telling my daughter in law to put in writing that she would not give you a bad review or bad mouth your company & you would return the money... she did this, you still didnt return it...fact...
I have every single email you sent myself & my daughter in law, if I could id post them all ....
Will never speak anything positive about your store.... its a joke
Also may I add, the bank would never of taken 2 payments from yourselves, they would of immediately returned one of them so yeah I guess dont make that a reason for you poor customer service.

Michela in the Newcastle store was absolutely outstanding. Nothing was a hassle. She made some amazing suggestions dresses wise and even helped me pick out the perfect veil too. Over the moon with the service. She was fantastic. No high pressure sales pitch either!

I went in so nervous and not know what to expect! And I can honestly say they blew me away! They are so welcoming and calmed me down! Julie was amazing! She was so accommodating! She made me feel so comfortable! And with her help and knowledge I found my dress and I couldn’t thank her enough! She made not only me feel comfortable but my family too! Amazing service! I would 100% recommend!

We came to try bridesmaid dresses on just to look.

Angela knew exactly what the girls would look good in and worked her magic to make them feel special . She was fantastic , supportive and not pushy .

I also then tried a wedding dress on even though I have one already and this convinced me to review mine and will be buying this one

Recently been to get my dress 👗 didn't think I would be able to walk out with one today, but I did! I am super happy with my dress and the service provided by Renee, having the dress now has made it feel even more real, only 6 weeks until my big day. Thank you so much 💓

Had a fab time today finding my wedding dress, I was looked after by Renee who was really helpful listened to what I liked and didnt like communicated brilliantly and had a laugh too while remaining professional I come away having a great experience and a dress too
