Francis provided an outstanding service in property purchasing. The case was transferred over from a previous firm that was providing substandard service and the difference was night and day. Timely communication and actions led to a fast completion timeline.
Additionally, Francis was very helpful and approachable for basic questions I had as a first time buyer.

I cannot speak more highly of Francis-Lloyd who was the acting solicitor for our client, who was purchasing a rental property. Francis was recommended to us by an estate agent, after we had issues with another solicitor firm that had been acting for our clients. Francis acted promptly in getting the case transferred over to XYZ Law, and worked outside of normal business hours that very same day to ensure he could progress the case as quickly and efficiently as possible to get the relevant documents sent out to the client that night.
Just as we thought we were finally there, 2 days before completion, the budget was announced which impacted our clients and could have been costly to them. I rang through to Francis panicking, however he was already on with sorting the matter to ensure our clients were not impacted.
As a mortgage broker, I deal with quite a number of solicitors/firms on a daily basis and I have found Francis to be one of the best. He was always on hand to answer my emails/calls and I am very impressed with how efficient he has been.
After speaking with our mutual client, they have also been speaking highly of Francis.

The service we received from this firm in particularly our repersentivie was thorough he did not go ahead with the purchase until he was satisfied with all the documents received. I was informed at each step of the way, what the next process would be and he promptly answered all my queries.

I would expect a Law company to have professional standards sadly this is something XYZ Law is lacking.
5 months to finalise the “Searches”, what was he doing for the first 4 months - incredibly slow and useless.
7 months to complete a property transaction, the “Exchange of Contracts and Completion” dates were cancelled on 2 occasions due to the solicitor not requesting the funds from the mortgage provider and a ISA trust. Removal firms had to be cancelled and deposits were lost due to the solicitor’s negligence to do the job properly.
You would expect that the solicitor would know how the basics work of buying a property; you need the funds in place to buy a property.
It’s unbelievable how bad this firm is. Made numerous phone calls to XYZ Law to speak to a senior member or director - no one was interested. That says it all!

Due to all the delays and lack of communication from the assigned solicitor we decided to research the solicitor only to find that the solicitor is the founder of UKC Legal and is based in Norwich not Dewsbury and is part of the DJF solicitors group. From that information is appears that XYZ Law have outsourced the work to UKC Legal.

We were referred to xyz law by another company in May. All we needed them to do was to transfer my late mums property into my property company, which we were told was a 8 week process. After initial ID checks and chasing, it was a month before our solicitor made contact with us. Everything seemed to be going well and contact was made with the leaseholder. When July came around we asked the question, are we going to be complete before our company year end of August 31st and nothing, no response. I chased in August and September, no response. Now, we have the 2% increase in stamp duty which my company will have to pay due to their solicitor not keeping us informed and doing his job in a timely manner. The whole process was slow and hasn’t even completed yet. I do not even know how far away the process is from completing. I have emailed another solicitor to stop xyz from completing the process. I'll be complaining to the SRA to let them know about this company.
