Shocking Aftercare – Worst Retail Experience I've Ever Had

We chose this company to supply our worktop partly because of their advertised quick turnaround. We are in the middle of a major renovation of our new home and have been without a kitchen for several months. We have two young children, and living without a functioning kitchen has been incredibly difficult. At the moment, we're washing dishes in the bathtub, so getting our worktop installed promptly was extremely important.

Up until the point we made payment, the service was excellent. Once they had our money, everything changed. Getting hold of anyone became almost impossible, and instead of speaking to us properly, customer service moved the conversation to WhatsApp, which I found incredibly unprofessional for a company selling high-end products.

On the day of installation, the fitters removed our sink to cut a hole for the tap. They left all the wood dust and debris underneath the sink without cleaning it up, scratched one of our kitchen panels, and, worst of all, put a hole through the panel beneath our breakfast bar. They left without mentioning any of this. Unfortunately, we didn't discover the hole until later because it's only visible if you bend down. This is a very expensive, high-end kitchen that is still being fitted, and that damaged panel alone costs over £400 to replace.

To make matters worse, before leaving, the fitter covered the worktop with an oily substance and advised me not to clean it until the following day. I now understand why. While the coating was on, the worktop looked beautifully glossy and hid the damage. Once I cleaned it off, I found several obvious chips and dark marks. Because the worktop is black, the white chips stand out immediately. I stood talking to the fitter before he left, and I genuinely cannot believe he chose not to mention any of this damage.

Since then, contacting customer service has been a nightmare. They know my number and don't answer my calls, communication is limited to WhatsApp messages, and despite the seriousness of the issues, nobody has had the courtesy to call us or offer a proper resolution. We are now left without a sink or a hob because we don't know how to proceed until this damage is addressed.

We've had no option but to contact our bank and begin a claim, as it's clear this company does not value its customers once payment has been received.

Most of the reviews for this company are very positive, but our experience has been the complete opposite. If you're one of the unlucky customers whose installation doesn't go to plan, the aftercare is virtually non-existent, and what should have been an exciting purchase quickly becomes an incredibly stressful experience.

The only positive decision we made was refusing the installer's request to pay the final balance in cash. We paid by credit card instead, which means we have the protection to pursue a full claim. Had we paid in cash, our options would have been far more limited.

I would not recommend this company. The quality of customer service after the sale has been shocking, and the damage caused during installation, combined with the lack of accountability, has made this the worst retail purchasing experience I have ever had.

Where do i start, this is not good place to pay, some gangs operating, they will take your money for Calcutta gold and deliver some Chinese knock off and when you ask for what is this, they threaten you, they also said they will smash whole marble in my house when I complained this is not what i paid for.

So avoid these gangsters. They wont give you any invoice and ask you to pay cash or to someone personal account.

The team was very professional; they measured the kitchen with a very advanced 3d laser device, and the result was wonderful. The new worktop looks excellent, and the workmanship was perfect, and very fast (under 2 hours to install)! The whole ordering process was quite seamless, with less than one week between ordering and installation. Highly recommended!

Y&S claim to have superior digital measuring and better cutting facilities, claims Amit made to us. They took on the job knowing it was quite some distance from their base.

The person that came to measure didn’t even bring any equipment and used a plank of wood to measure. He was clearly inexperienced. This was not the digital measuring we were promised. I raised concerns with Abi and she promised the fitting would a high standard. The same inexperienced person was sent to do the fitting, they reversed their van into our gutter causing damage and also damaged our kitchen units during fitting. They arrived late and by the time they finished it was late in the evening.

Abdul wanted us to confirm on the spot we were content without proper inspection and forced us to pay in full, otherwise they would not leave our property. This was intimidating and we have children.

The cut and fit was not right, edges untidy, silicon was messy, the tap hole was cut in the wrong place and the sink cutout was too small. I complained and they promised to rectify. Another more experienced fitter was sent to rectify the issues but it was still not done right.

This began a long back and forth where they tried to pass me from pillar to post, ignored me and tried to blame me for their poor service. We had paid over £3k. They promised to come and rectify the sink but that it would take months and said they would not be held accountable for any damage. Again they failed to do this so in the end I asked for a partial refund however what they were offering wouldn’t cover the damage or cover the cost to replace the sink slab. In the end I lost any confidence they would resolve, therefore I got a partial refund through my credit card company. Please avoid this company as they are just after your money and not interested in doing a good job.

My whole experience with Y&S Marble has been very disappointing. I placed my order for worktop and splashback in November 2024, it was supposed to be fulfilled within 1 week, but it eventually took 2 months. Bear in mind this wasn’t cheap, I paid £2.5k total.

At first they produced the worktop of a wrong thickness, contrary to what has been agreed in writing. They agreed to re-do the order but there were delays in supply, so I had to wait for initial few weeks. Then they sent their guys to take the measurements again, “to make sure there are no mistakes”. However, when the items arrived the second time, it turned out that there was a major mistake again - this time the cutouts on the splashback were done in a wrong place.

Communication process was at times appalling, like "we'll get back to you tomorrow" and then i don't hear anything for a few days, so I had to continuously chase for updates.

In the meantime this was delaying the completion of my project, I lost money as I had to move other renovation works a few times and lost deposits paid to my installers. Not even to mention that I’ve not had a kitchen all this time which has resulted in a great deal of personal inconvenience.

It's a shame the process was managed so badly, as when the worktop was installed the craftsmanship was actually good - this is the only reason i'm giving higher than a 1star review.

Third time I’ve used this company at various property’s and every time they deliever a very professional service from sales with Amit and his team extremely happy with there product and installation

Very urgent and aggressive when it came to payment. The guys couldn’t leave until payment was made. Very limited English too

I am so pleased that I chose this company for my quartz worktop and splashbacks.
I mainly dealt with Amit over the phone and via WhatsApp. He is very professional, he answers any queries straight away. Abdul came to take measurements, he was very knowledgeable and professional. The whole process took a week between measurements and fitting.
Rrafat who came with his young apprentice was absolutely fantastic, he sure knows his stuff. I would highly recommend this company.
I plan to use them again for my bathroom.

Very disappointing service I've recieved fron Y&S
pick up a bit of quarts from the factory all paid ect wait for 4 hours before they load it in my car ,when took it out at home it was horrible to see ,surface was like milky patches everywhere ,,the sides and the rounded profile was not even polish .
called them they pretend I should have checked it before leaving the factory ,anyway after a long argument ,suppose they done a favour to me to bring it back and will be replaced .
Because payment was already made I had to be a bit calm with them ,because they were trying to blame me for this piece.
Tried to get even petrol money with them ,but they refuse .
Took it back again drove 40mls one way waste another Saturday all on my cost .
Got the second piece ,exact like I was expecting .
So be carefull people don't pay any penny to them until you are fully satisfied ,please check your item thoroughly in day light until loaded or delivered without any issue
