Second time in a year i have had tea bags that are below the standard i have come to expect and love from yorkshire tea, they have the strength but seem to have no flavour with a bitter aftertaste, judging by reviews on here it seems a trend now so may have to reconsider my choice in future..poor show guys, will be chucking them in the bin.

Decline in quality
I have been drinking Yorkshire brand tea for many years. But lately the quality has seriously declined. The bags no longer provide a strong flavorful pot of tea. Worse still, I recommended it to friends who thought it was dreadful-- weak and without flavour. I tried Yorkshire Gold as well, and it was the same-- weak and without much flavour. I have no idea what has happened but I'm now looking for a new brand.

You've changed the Strength & Blend, STOP!
I’ve been a dedicated Yorkshire Tea drinker for decades, and I’ve always loved the rich strength and flavour that made this brand stand out. But the last several boxes (not just one) have been consistently weak, pallid, and lacking the depth of flavour we used to expect — even when steeped longer than usual. This isn’t a one-off bad box; it’s a pattern that many loyal customers are now reporting box after box.
Customers are not asking for perfection — just for the tea we remember. Yet every time someone points this out, the official response repeatedly pushes the line that the issue is due to a single faulty box and insists nothing has changed to the blend or strength. That simply doesn’t align with what people are actually experiencing. The sheer number of reports of weak flavour, altered taste, and poorly filled/tearing bags makes it very clear that something has changed in either sourcing, blend ratios, processing, or packaging — and it’s affecting the quality.
Ignoring this feedback isn’t good customer service. Long-standing customers who would normally defend Yorkshire Tea are switching brands because they feel the company won’t listen. Saying “it’s just a single box” feels dismissive and out of touch with the actual volume of consistent complaints.
Please take your customers seriously. If there has been a change in the tea’s strength, blend, or production process, acknowledge it openly — and act on the feedback. Loyal drinkers want the strong, proper brew we’ve loved for years, not excuses. Like others I'm now switching as the product is now poor tasting cheap tat, and we can't trust you! I strongly suggest you re-consider your silly cost saving exercise before you have no customers left. Once people change brands it's unlikely they'll EVER return.
IN RESPONSE TO THE FEEDBACK FROM YORKSHIRE TEA:
If you are sourcing the leaves from different locations at different times of the year this should be explained on the box for customers so we have a choice. Changing the leaves is like changing the ingredients and makes a core difference to how the product will taste. Effectively it becomes a different product and should be identified accordingly on the packaging.

Great customer service
I am a great fan of Yorkshire Tea bags and no other Teabag are allowed in my house.
I had an issue when several of the tea bags split open and the leaves were floating in my cup.
I contacted Customer Service by email and got an immediate response and they dealt with my issue promptly. Great response and full praise to the company.

I had a slight issue with my decaf tea…
I had a slight issue with my decaf tea bags and thought I’d let them know in case there was an issue for more people. They dealt with it swiftly, were really helpful, explained what might have caused the issue and have sent out some replacements. Well done Yorkshire tea, there are reasons I don’t mind paying a little more for my tea bags and their great customer service is one of those reasons!

Tea quality bad.
I am sorry to agree that the quality of the tea and the bags themselves have become inferior. A customer for many years I now have trouble getting a consistent brew. Some will be fine whilst others can be tasteless or bitter. The bags are splitting more often too. What once was a fantastic brand has now become wishy washy with more bad brews than good ones sorry to say.

What has happened to Yorkshire tea bags? I have used them for years and I had no complaints in fact they gave a great cuppa just recently they have changed.
They have a weak and horrible taste and the colour is like a dirty muddy colour my teapot is stained black

Today I emailed Taylors regarding my Yorkshire tea, when I opened my box most of the bags were perforated .
They emailed me straight back and have said they will send me a new box out. I received a lovely email explaining what had happened. They are very efficient.

This company is so professional ,

No longer a ‘proper brew’!
No longer a ‘proper brew’!
Used to love Yorkshire Tea, always our ‘go to’ brand. It used to brew a lovely strong cuppa regardless of whether it was Decaf or ‘normal’. And the cups used to stain very readily. Our latest box is very poor, brews a weak cuppa and leaves the cups spotless and free from stains.
Yet another case of shrinkflation I’m sure with Taylors reducing the amount of tea in the bags I suspect.
I won’t be buying again.

Brewtiful service!
Had a small problem with their tea bags to which i brought to their attension.

Whatever you have done stop it and go…
Whatever you have done stop it and go back to what ypu were doing. You were UK's best tea and world known. Why change the strength, depth, taste and colour to such a degree that your tea is like a supermarket brand. I am so disappointed and upset by this. My tea is so bad right now. Please, please sort it out immediately. We all miss the greatest tea.

I contacted Yorkshire Tea by telephone regarding a complaint about unsealed tea bags. The customer service was excellent. The lady was polite and understanding. She dealt with my complaint quickly and responded by email as promised with a perfect resolution on the same day. Thank you

Teabags not sealed
We had a issue with teabags not being sealed fully. This was reported and we sent the batch number over and this could pinpoint the machine and production date and time this happened and hopefully would not happen again. We don't expect things like this to happen but even machines have a off day and just glad it's running OK now. A replacement box teabags was sent out straight away. Keep up the good work.

Reassuring response . .
I posted a review a week ago to the effect that YT was no longer our ‘go to’ brand as the tea no longer had the strength and depth of flavour we enjoyed and that we were seeking a replacement brand. After an exchange with YT Customer Services, and reassurances that the tasting profile of YT had not been changed we had a further taste-off with a replacement box. I’m pleased to say that the taste/depth of flavour was as we recalled. We may have previously purchased a ‘bad batch’. We appreciate YT’s responsive customer service. We will remain a regular purchaser.
