We couldn't ask for a better start to our daughter's life than Young Friends nursery.

The space itself, with the sanctuary of a garden, rabbits and the kitchen garden; the nursery's ethos with regards to the recycled materials they use for play, communal cooking and a deep love and respect for nature, gives the children an invaluable grounding in the true values in life.

We cannot begin to describe the nurturing support the staff have given our daughter and us as a family, which has enabled her to truly flourish as a person. The staff have been an inspiration, going above and beyond what we could ever imagine a nursery could be.

Young Friends has been absolutely amazing. Having moved down from London where our daughter went to a fantastic nursery we never thought we’d find somewhere as good but Young Friends surpassed our wildest expectations. All the staff are amazing creating an atmosphere of love, fun and warmth with top notch play-centred early years education thrown in. We - and our daughter (and now son) - couldnt be happier.

Young friends is without doubt the best nursery around. Amazing staff, incredible ethos (which they actually practice), the kind of place where you’re constantly impressed by new developments. Brilliant 1-on-1 care, imaginative group activities, and a space/garden/kitchen garden that provides litttle ones with everything they could want. Our daughter blossomed there, and we can’t say enough good things about all the staff, management and approach!

Really exceptional nursery. The passion behind the whole team is so apparent and the sustainable ethos and connection to nature really is embedded in everything they do with the children. Our son couldn't be happier there.

We were thrilled to come across Young Friends after extensive searches for a nursery and it has more than lived up to our hopes. Our daughter loves it and is thriving. The staff are brilliant and so thoughtful about their approach and bring so much joy and nurture the children’s curiosity.

Young friends is such wonderful nursery. Every member of staff really gets to know each child and really nurtures their development and personalities. My son started at the age of 1 with some gentle settle sessions. He loves going to nursery and has made so many friends. During his time at nursery, he has learnt some sign language, many words, role play and enjoys cooking, local trips and loves the outside space. He is very fond of the nursery pet rabbits and is very excited to go in and see them each morning. The staff go above and beyond to love and care for the children and even attend events at weekends. This nursey is a community, that enables parents, children and staff to get to know each other, support each other, whilst having fun. Thank you to everyone at Young Friends and everything you do and continue to do for my son. I can not praise this nursery enough.

I’m so thrilled with Young Friends. My little one has been there for a year now. She is so excited to arrive at nursery in the mornings. The staff have such genuine love and interest for the children. The other parents are lovely too, it is a wonderful community and we feel so lucky to have found it!

Young Friends is a true “follow the child” Nursery, where children are encouraged and nourished through the best resources for the child, their family, the communities and the planet. A true “home to home” environment where Nature is the guide and deeply respected. Everytime my daughter arrives home from YF with, we can see she’s happy. We feel she could be herself. We know she was fed the best foods and always has the best nights after a day there. Can’t recommend this enough 💚

Young friends has been a game changer for our son who didn’t seem to be happy in conventional nursery/classroom set ups. Young friends has nurtured and inspired him to be confident, embrace his creativity and be curious about the world. He is happy to be there and full of positive stories from each day. The staff have been attentive and caring - we couldn’t have asked for more.

Staff are very skilled and knowledgeable and responsive to the children’s needs. Lots of outdoor play and life skills activities such as gardening and cooking. Our toddler always talks about what she has done in her day there and often tells us that the staff have made her laugh. The nurturing environment is carefully set up to encourage independence, free play and curiosity - the kids there truly thrive!

Have sent both our girls to young friends over the last 4.5 years from babies through to school and they have both loved it.

Particularly like that the kids get to go on lots of outings to parks, allotments, the beach etc. and the garden and Guinea pigs are well loved.

All the staff have been great over that time and our girls formed strong bonds with them and loved seeing them everyday. They are particularly good at managing the kids emotions and teaching them to manage them themselves.

The place is a friendly, comfortable and nurturing environment and I would recommend for all kids.

Young friends is a fabulous nursery and I’d highly recommend it to any family! Our daughter has loved her time there and the staff have been nurturing, friendly and kind. It is a shame we were unable to enjoy seeing inside the newly redecorated setting, attending parents evenings or more group events following covid but seeing the pictures and receiving the updates has been lovely. The regular trips out, seeing the Guinea Pigs and daily playtime in the gorgeous garden have been so rewarding for our little one. We will miss it immensely.

Young Friends Kindergarten have gone above and beyond to care for our children. We have developed great relationships with the staff; they care for our children deeply and are responsive and professional at all times. The ethos of the nursery shines through and is ubiquitous in day to day life and we see how this impacts on our children’s confidence and interests of nature and sustainability. I am so pleased my children attend this nursery and would recommend them to anyone.

We could not be happier with Young Friends! Our son absolutely loves it there and is always so happy when we collect him, chatting about all the activities he has been up to during the day.
We love the fact that they are plastic free and have a real empathise on recycling and sustainability as this is something we do at home as well.
All the staff are so warm and friendly and we know our son could not be happier there!

It’s a wonderful place! Great staff team, professional and 100%focused on the children and their development. Children learn the importance to recycle, respect the environment as well as people and different cultures. Everyday we leave our little daughter knowing that she’ll have an amazing day and will spend good time with amazing staff and wonderful other kids.

I adore working at Young Friends Kindergarten and have had great joy at watching it grow into the nursery it is today.

Absolutely fantastic nursery. Both our boys did and one still does go there. Wonderful, imaginative, loving carers from all backgrounds, ages and genders. All dedicated to provide the best, colourful and most loving care to the children. We absolutely love their ethos of nurturing, education and sustainability. They teach the kids all about sustainability, fairness and equality. The nursery does have an incredible woodland garden as well as an allotment “garden kitchen” where they grow their own fruit and veggies. Our kids love to eat a healthy variety of food as this is what they learn/know from nursery. All their toys are eco friendly and of best educational value. They do loads of trips to parks, the beach or supermarket. But most importantly they let kids be kids and give them room to bloom. We can not recommend Young friends enough. Oldest went to 2 different nursery before due to moving cities but this is definitely our favourite. Thanks for all your care and love

My grandson absolutely loves his nursery. They encourage him to have a go and experience different skills . His outdoor learning offers him a great deal of challenge as his love of nature and appreciation and respect for nature is shining through . He thrives in a nurturing environment that supports all areas of learning . A warm welcome with a homely feel in a safe stimulating place makes my grandson so happy to be at nursery so thankyou to all the caring staff .
