Will tell you their latest keys work with their current iOS app - they don't
Bought two Yubikeys directly from Sweden , as don't trust eBay or other sellers . Take about a week to arrive and postage is about £12 . These arrived just before Ars Technica reported their keys had a security problem with Windows 11 users , and they had just updated the hardware keys ( you can't update them but have to buy new keys to replace the old ones ) . I returned those at considerable expense and time to their address in Sweden . Then ordered two new ones , which their customer services assured me are updated and would work with their latest Yubikey iOS Authorisation app ( albeit some new features would only become available when they update their iOS app later in the year ) . You open their app , which asks you to plug in a Yubikey . The key flashes for a moment , but then you see exactly the same black screen with picture of a Yubikey and no further instructions - how to register the key . The app has three available settings on the initial screen - two of which are greyed out , such as one you need to register the key with a QR code . Customer services completely avoided my specific questions about this . More sales persons than customer assistants . Am returning these new ones for a second refund . My software is up to date with iOS 17.5.1 . Won't consider this investment with them again ; there are other options out there .
They only make thing but can't even get that to work .
