No internet after engineer fitted new router
An engineer was booked 3rd November between 1and 6, no one came and no one contacted me to say that nobody was going to call, I waited in my home for 5 hours. My internet was disconnected a week later on 10th November.
I rebooked for 16th November, the engineer, Andrew was very efficient and kept me informed about when he was going to call. He connected the new router and Internet worked for about an hour and then stopped. When I phoned my provider they said they didn’t have a date for going live, they said they would contact Openreach to see if they could confirm a date for ‘going live’. No one had told me that when the engineer connects everything I wouldn’t have any Internet until it ‘went live’ and this could take days!
Apparently having a ‘going live date ‘ was not something that applied to my situation, which was why the engineer didn’t mention it, instead one of the power cables connecting the new system was faulty. An engineer came on Wednesday 22nd November and fitted a new cable - everything is working well now but we were without internet for 12 days.
