Moved cross country. Set up my move several months before the move. 1800PackRat manage my move flawlessly. They honored my final pick up of the empty pod many times as I had to adjust my pick up date several times due to my apartment not being ready for me to move in. 1800PackRat was professional and honest. Pricing was very fair. I will recommend there services and will use them again!!

We had an awesome experience with everyone that we dealt with during our move from NY to NC. The delivery drivers were excellent, on time or ahead of time and communicated their arrival times with us every step of the way. It was no problem scheduling pickups and deliveries on the website and the customer service people were extremely helpful as well. I would highly recommend their services to anyone I know.

Used Pack Rat to move from CT to SC and they were either on time or ahead of schedule every step of the way. We were able to change dates easily online when needed. The storage unit itself was in great condition too.

Our delivery was originally scheduled for September 19. The movers arrived, our building had everything prepared, including the elevator, but our container never showed up.
We immediately contacted Pack Rat and were repeatedly told someone would call us back. No one did. We spent the entire weekend waiting, making calls, and getting no answers about where our belongings were or when they would arrive.
Today is September 22, and after several calls, we finally received a second confirmed delivery date of September 23, four days late.
Delays can happen, but the complete lack of communication and follow-up is unacceptable. We should not have to repeatedly call just to get basic information about our own belongings.
This has been a very frustrating and stressful experience for our family. **I will update this review after tomorrow's delivery to confirm whether our belongings are actually delivered on the second confirmed date.**

I was called the day of delivery,told 2 1/2 hours to drop off. 6 hours go by no call. We called them and were told the driver picked up wrong container and they would deliver next day. THEY NEVER CALLED US TO LET US KNOW. WE HAD TO CALL THEM. pick up was supposed to be 2 days later
They did call us to tell us that they would be a day late to pick up container. I explained to them I had another 28ft truck coming that day and and it would conflict with space available for unloading the response was sorry can't do anything about it. My thoughts are unprofessional ,lack of customer concerns and once they collect their fees don't give a s__t. I would never recommend them to my worst enemy.

My experience was great from beginning to end! Everything went as planned. I would recommend Packrat as my experience was top tier!

Excellent Storage Experience with 1‑800‑PACK‑RAT

The storage unit from 1‑800‑PACK‑RAT was incredibly helpful and made the whole process easy. Scheduling delivery was simple, pickup was just as smooth, and the unit itself was convenient and reliable. Overall, an excellent experience — and the pricing was very competitive compared to other services I considered. Highly recommended.

This was the 2nd time I have used Pack Rat to move across the country. Everything went perfectly smoothly the first time, and the second time it was good too, until it came to an uncooperative apartment establishment. Pack Rat was understanding and helpful in rectifying the problem. The delivery driver, Don of Houston, who did both the drop-off and pickup at my final destination was magnificent. His skill and professionalism was outstanding. He even managed to keep his cool with an obnoxious neighbor who wanted to micromanage the maneuvering of the truck. For my time-frame, amount of belongings, and budget, Pack Rat was ideal.

Both friends and family had used and highly recommended 1-800-PACK-RAT. PACK-RAT matched PODS pricing estimate and gave us one month free storage. The container was delivered on time and great placement within 2 inches! It did have a small amount of water inside when delivered but the driver dried and sealed it with caulking. We were an "out of state" so the website was hard to get more information on the storage facilities charges but customer services happily sent updated, detailed charges on invoice by email. They were always helpful if i had to call them. Deliveries and pickups of container was so easy. After four months of storage, our boxes and furniture arrived safely and in great condition. No mold/mildew was present, even though it was stored in Portland OR which happens to be one of our moist states in USA. We are very pleased. The only thing to complain about would be the website needs more billing/change of information access for "out of state" moves.

Direct communication. Upfront pricing and professional excellence

I knew from the initial call that I would be going with 1-800-PACK-RAT. I also looked into other companies, but they were not very friendly, and the customer service felt robotic. I spoke with John, who was very knowledgeable, had a great personality, and offered better pricing.

My biggest concern was making sure my belongings arrived safely during my move from California to Texas, and that initial conversation made me feel comfortable moving forward with 1-800-PACK-RAT.

The container was dropped off and picked up as scheduled. Once I arrived in Texas, I called to have the container moved and was charged at that time, which I appreciated because I was not required to pay upfront. I did pay storage fees after the first free month, which was understandable.

I called to verify that my container had arrived in Texas and was pleasantly surprised to learn it arrived early. Once I knew my move-in date, we scheduled the delivery, and the container arrived on time early in the morning.

Overall, it was a great experience. I would definitely recommend 1-800-PACK-RAT and would use the service again for another major move.

2nd time using them in the past year and absolutely no issues or complaints. They delivered when expected and picked up when expected. Not sure why the bad reviews are in here but i definitely recommend them and will use again if I ever need to

I was happy that the container was successfully picked up by the company, shipped cross-country, and then picked up by our movers at the warehouse successfully. I was also happy that our boxes were in good condition. The people I spoke with on the phone also were almost always knowledgeable and helpful. The company also beat competitors on price by a significant margin, which helped earn my business.

However, working with the company was stressful, especially at the beginning. First off, I thought that I would have a single agent from start to finish to help me with questions (which is what the sales agent I spoke with had led me to believe). This is certainly not true I have found out. Second, the company almost never answers any email queries. I feel that it may as well not exist. I had to suffer through many phone calls and being on hold for who knows how long, collectively. Should have known that a company with a phone number for a name would force customers to call it for almost everything; abandon hope of getting a direct phone number for the department in the company you want, as they are not allowed to give out such info. Third, the user interface of the account page needs serious work. I wasn't able to change my credit card information or update other key details of my container on my own, forcing me to call. Fourth, when my container was picked up, I was not given any paperwork or receipt by the driver. I had to frantically call the warehouse manager (the only reason I had the number is because he directly texted me the night before to confirm the move) to know what my container number was, which was not listed on my account page (that took 3 phone calls to fix). I was scared that my container was going to get lost because of this. My worry was compounded because my original order became corrupted for no reason in particular, which necessitated my order to be rebuilt. When it was rebuilt, I had told the person on the phone the details of the order, and they assured me it was built correctly, only for it to be built incorrectly, which took the aforementioned 3 phone calls to fix.

All this being said, my cross-country move worked and I have all my stuff and probably saved at least $1500 by not using PODS. If you do decide to work with 1-800Packrat, get ready to be on the phone a lot and watch things like a hawk to make sure that things are going correctly. Do not leave them on autopilot

Interaction with customer service was always handled professionally. There were some glitches with there online scheduling system. Drivers were all professional and friendly. Containers were delivered and retrieved as scheduled with one exception when they delayed a day because of container inventory. notification the day before as to the time window.
