Purchased a Comprehensive Travel…
Purchased a Comprehensive Travel Insurance Policy for a recent short trip to Rarotonga To celebrate a special Birthday. After numerous delays at Auckland Airport, We were finally relieved to be in the air Only to Fly over 3/4s of the way there to hear the voice over 'This is your captain speaking...Due to an apparent mechanical issue, we were subsequently turned around Mid-air back to Auckland. This was basically the only communication we had with no solutions offered Until after returning home (which is 3hours from Auckland) Subsequently we had to rebook a shorter than originally planned trip a week later But our accommodation was forfeited and now with it being school holidays options where very limited . Basically, had to grab what we could all at an extra cost to ourselves, but we thought OK that's why we have Insurance. Upon our return we lodged what should have been a straightforward claim for the lost accommodation and transfer costs ...appears straight forward and simple. Apparently NOT. ONE COVER INSURANCE !!!!!!what do you actually cover apparently NOT MUCH, how is an aircraft fault and loss of pre-paid accommodation not covered. Seems like the buck gets passed and the only people losing out are your policy holders. Further contact in reference to claim number 1CNZ50431708 Policy number 1CNZCPN1364345 Would be greatly appreciated. Find your responses very inadequate and not what was expected by what we thought was a reputable company

This was one of the worst experiences…
This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had with an insurance company.
Making a claim was unnecessarily difficult from start to finish. It was nearly impossible to get hold of anyone in New Zealand, as everything is handled out of NSW. When you’re already dealing with a stressful situation, the last thing you need is to be chasing people for basic support.
There was zero empathy or customer care shown. Not once did anyone ask how I was doing — instead, it was just endless requests for more information, with no real guidance or help. It felt like they were trying to make the process as hard as possible rather than actually assist.
Communication was also poor and unprofessional. Emails weren’t even properly signed with full names, which gives very little confidence in who you’re dealing with.
Overall, this company is disorganised, unhelpful, and lacks basic customer service standards. I would strongly advise people to stay away.
Do not use this company.
If you want reliable cover and proper support, go with a trusted New Zealand provider like Southern Cross Travel Insurance — you’ll save yourself a lot of stress.
