They can't tell an apple from a greengage.
I ordered a greengage tree. They supplied an unnamed apple. Then they swore it was a greengage despite photos to the contrary.. When the leaves and blossom emerged it was clear it was an apple. I invoked a PayPal dispute and they offered a refund if I sent the apple back, but declined to pay the carriage. I.E. in effect hardly any refund.
Speak as you find
I ordered 125 40-60cm bare rooted cherry laurel plants at the beginning of February 2024, they arrived at the beginning of March, all were very healthy but weather was too wet to plant immediately. We made sure all plant roots were covered in a layer of soil and planted most by the end of March and potted up the rest. We only lost one out of 125 and I think it got water logged.
Quick service and very pleased with the product and happy to say we now have a nice 4ft hedge.
Dreadful company
Dreadful company , excuse after excuse . Ordered an apricot tree , informed them that tree was dead , told to wait weeks and weeks . Then told that it was a perishable item and no refund even though they supposedly offer a months warranty on there plants .
Do not buy from this company , also shameful that B and Q don’t accept any responsibility for this either insisting I go back to nursery .
After numerous calls and time wasted on messages I’ve learnt not to purchase from a 3rd party seller .
It also shows when a. Company has pretty much all 1 -star reviews and don’t give feedback
DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!
Ordered a yellow broom, which fortunately was quite healthy. However, after 2 months when it started to flower, it became clear that its blooms are red, not yellow. I specifically wanted yellow to replace one that hadn’t survived the winter.
When I contacted Beechwood Nurseries, as they’re calling themselves, and sent photos and offered to send the red one back to them in exchange for a replacement, I was told they couldn’t prove it was the plant they’d sent me and refused to exchange it. Why they think I would make this up is beyond me, and clearly just an excuse for terrible customer service. Although having read the other reviews now I can see I was one of the lucky ones to have received a living plant at all!
Do not order from this company.
What a shame there isn’t a zero button…
What a shame there isn’t a zero button for this. I received a Wisteria plant where there were more branches broken lying dead on top of the pot and they were alive on the tree. The leaves that remained were yellow and wilting and looked very sad indeed. The whole plant is unlikely to survive and it’s an absolute disgrace that I paid £25 for this and the seller does not want to know and says it’s only missing a few leaves in transit. That is a complete lie I think it had been neglected for weeks and weeks and then flooded with water as even the box it travelled in was soaking wet in order to send it looking as though it has been looked after. Life is too short for me now at the age of 76 years to fuss and create about £25 and I am going to plant the thing and nurture it and see if it can possibly recover. I doubt it. And I will just have to write the £25 off to bitter experience and make a note to myself to always read all the reviews before buying anything on Amazon or eBay.. they should be ashamed of themselves sending stuff out like this but I see I am far from the only one. The only advice is do not buy from them.
Ripped off like the hundreds of others
Ripped off like the hundreds of others
Just like all the other reviews, I received a dead twig then I was gaslit and flatly refused a refund.
I've then texted, emailed, and called B&Q numerous times and after 6 weeks I've just had to give up. Scandalous way to operate, I'll genuinely never have the trust or confidence to use B&Q again.
Bought 100 bare root hedging…
Bought 100 bare root hedging plants, they were delivered as dry as a bone! Leaves were crispy.Soaked them for an hour when I picked them up nearly all leaves fell off.they were clearly dead as snapped when bent. I contacted beechwood they said plant them, they are in dormancy they just need watering and would be ok! They definitely were not.after a few emails to them and sending pics they tried blaming me,as I have read they have done to other people. I asked for refund been refused.took advice from citizens advice they said give them two weeks to refund or replace if they don’t go to small claims.did this they still didn’t give a dam. I hope from all these reviews they get what they deserve no orders!
Refused to replace dead plants.
Poor communication. Refused to replace dead plant, which of couse all my fault, when 1 of 3 plants died. Never again.
Awful service
Awful service. Ordered 30 laurel to only receive 10. The 10 received are in poor state but the seller is insistent they are in excellent condition. Told by the seller that the goods a perishable so they are unable to accept returns. Seller is rude and very poor customer service. Implied we are lying and were adamant we had received all 30 plants. B&Q wanted nothing to do with it until we had to escalate the matter further.
False advertising
paid £27.99 for what was advertised as a big juicy Victoria plum tree ready to fruit. Was so disappointed to receive a twig with some branches leading off and 4 tiny leaves. I planted it a few weeks ago in well prepared soil and water every day in this very dry weather and 3 of the 4 leaves have died. No way is this ready to fruit. I doubt if its even alive.
10 teucrium fruticans - all damaged
Ordered 10 teucrium fruticans. Arrived rammed into 2 long boxes with most of the stems briken. No reply to a polite email informing them packing inadequate. I then picked up 3 beautifully pruned and tended and cheaper plants from a small local nursery. I should have exolored that in the first place. I would never buy from Beechwood again. They may grow plants well but have no idea how to send them safely.
Avoid this nursery
Same story as others. 6 trees ordered - 2 dead. Woeful customer service and no refund nor replacement. Avoid this nursery.
Spent 62.99 on cherry laurel and they…
Spent 62.99 on cherry laurel and they turned uo dead and snapped. Customer service has told me to water them.... OK....
They are very very aggressive and confrontational in their customer services. I'm not going to argue with anyone over 62.99 they can keep it but I won't stop telling the truth about them! Don't buy from them!
Don't buy from 3fatpigs
Purchased a bareroot red hawthorn tree in March. Quite honestly it didn't look great when it arrived so I emailed the company straight away saying I was concerned. It looked like it had been wrapped in cling film and stored in a cupboard for months, rather than newly lifted. The roots were bone dry and not wrapped in anything to retain moisture. However we planted it, as advised, although in an alternative position in the hope it would grow. Needless to say it hasn't. The latest correspondence from them suggests it might take until the end of May before it comes out of dormancy. It is clearly dead. You can tell from the scratch test. There is little or no communication from the company. I've asked about guarantees but received no reply. Rather than end of season offers this is merely a way for 3fatpigs nurseries to dump their surplus stock. Awful customer service and awful products.
We purchased three trees from this…
We purchased three trees from this nursery and one of them has not grown. We contacted customer service and they asked for photos which we sent. We have not received a reply and alhough I've emailed again there is still no response. Looking at the other reviews it would seem their customer service is non-existent
Update: I have now received a response from this company and their argument is that the ground around the trees is very dry! I pointed out that it was a very hot day and the trees were watered every da. Also. if there was the case, why did the other two trees in the same plot do okay. I am not expecting a response
AVOID DO NOT USE
AVOID DO NOT USE. dreadful dead bare root plants given excuse after excuse given tonput off refund did everything asked of them still to be refused and customer service disgraceful and rude. ABSOLUTE RIP OFF
AVOID BUYING FROM THEM
Never again I ordered a small cherry tree as a memorial tree for the loss of my brother. When it arrived there was small amount of hay around pot for protection and the pot is in about 14 bits. I contacted them see copied and pasted email contact form and their reply!!!
Comments / questions:
The tree was delivered today but the pot is totally smashed and as soon as someone comes in they will have to repot this tree. This was bought as a memorial tree for the loss of my little brother I just hope that repotting will not do any damage to it and prevent it growing. Their reply not that we will replace pot no never in a million years this is their reply!!!!
Good Afternoon
Sorry to hear the pot was broken. Repotting the tree will not affect it, many people will repot trees into larger pots to allow the tree to grow bigger.
Kind Regards
I am disgusted I wish I had read reviews before buying the tree from them I will never buy from them again not even a free gift would be acceptable from them now. Its a disgrace of a company
I then send the email below and got following replies lol

Not bad after all .....
I Read these awful reviews - just AFTER I ordered a dwarf apple tree! I was dreading what would happen. To my intense relief, a completely healthy apple tree arrived, very well packaged, and very much alive. Can't fault this company
Don't be tempted with the free delivery....
The plant I received has a broken stem, was bone dry, so much so that the soil had shrunk away from the side of the tub. The flowers and leaves were dry and looked almost dead. On contacting 3fatpigs.aka Beechwood nurseries I was told the plant only needed watering after being in transit. It was so dry it was not packaged and watered properly to be able to withstand the journey. Dusgusting customer service! Very short and sharp response ie. "The plant just needs watered after being in transit." that was it! For your information no amount of water will bring back a dead plant! I'm not a miracle worker. Never again will I touch this company.
Terrible Customer Service
Worst customer service I've experienced for a long time. Running under the name "Beechwood Nurseries" on eBay - purchased 10 Cherry Laurel trees advertised as 3ft to 4ft, but very dissapointed when they turned up with a height of 2ft... but to make matters worse- despite customer service requesting 2 sets of photos, absolutely no ownership for the mistake nor any action taken. Such a shame as the actual quality of the trees were fine, just half the size!
