FIFTH THIRD BANK HAS WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!

I have a credit card with this bank. My bill balance was 675.80 and it was due 3/5/26. I set up a payment on my 53 app for 3/4. The payment didn’t go through. I called and was told it didn’t go through because I had canceled the payment! I KNEW I HAD NOT CANCELLED! I was told I had to set up payment again. I asked the service rep if she was CERTAIN that I wouldn’t have two payments coming out and she assured me I would not. She stated again that the 1st payment had been cancelled. TWO PAYMENTS CAME OUT! I called 5TH3RD and was told to call back in 7 DAYS to dispute the charge and then it would take another 10 days for them to MAIL ME A CHECK! No electronic refunds! They also told me any new charges would be deducted from my refund, even though payment for those would not be due for a month! I had to call my own bank to dispute the double payment! AVOID DOING BUSINESS WITH FIFTH THIRD BANK! They have highly questionable business practices and really lousy customer service!

Christina at 5/3 St.Bernard was stellar!

Christina helped my husband get an expedited Debit card for upcoming International travel. He and I went back later in the day and they were very busy (first weekday of the month at lunchtime) and everyone was very sorry for our delay, but it wasn't very long to wait and Christina gave us personal care and helped add me to the account and we now (2 days later!!) each have Debit cards in hand for our upcoming trip. We will likely be doing more business with 5/3 after we return. She also advised us which 5/3 locations have Euros available and was altogether delightful.

The national "Customer Support" is…

The national "Customer Support" is utter trash. There's no other way to explain the total idiocracy of their support. They interrupt what you are saying before you finish a sentence with "I understand." then repeats back exactly NOT what they "Understand". Two days of pure pain. I lost 4 IQ Points in this time. Constant interruptions, fake robotic platitudes and couldn't fix a damn thing. Me: The phone number you have on record is incorrect, (I understand) SHUDDUP! I want to correct the (I understand) SHUT THE HELL UP!" phone number. I understand you want help with setting up an online account? "NO I DON'T AND SHUTTUP!" I understand, let me send you a code to the phone number we have on file. ARE YOU STUPID? THAT PHONE IS WRONG I need to (I understand) FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! SHUDDUP! So this idiot says Let me send you to a branch to help you. (Hold music) then I get "Thank you for calling Rapid Day Dry Cleaners" at which time my frontal lob of my brain detatches from my skull and flys through my office window.

Kathy is the best

I was with Kathy. She is one of the best bank people I have ever worked with. She is extremely helpful and extremely nice. I appreciated all of her help, she is amazing and I thought she was a manager with how helpful she was. She helped me open a bank account, as well as a personal account. She gave me a lot of faith in the fifth third bank, and now I tell everyone I know about fifth third bank and how great of a person Kathy is and that they should open up an account with them.

What did he say?

Problem was resolved immediately. But I couldnt for the life of me understand what the young man said to me. I just ask that representatives take the time to be clear and concise with their communications. I still don't know what that young man said to me. Use your words sir.

Cheyenne Rocks

I called and spoke with Cheyenne on the phone at the King and central bank on Friday 2-27 i had over paid a bill by close to $700.00 i called customer service which was a waste of time then i reached out to a back near me and Cheyenne very quickly calmed to down and 100% took care of the problem by offering My Advantage and fixed everything, i was then locked out of my account and i called her again on Monday and she jumped on the line and fixed that for me to. Talking to a person that i can understand in a situation like this helped fix the problem, calling a 1-800 number to speak with someone who i cant understand and wated me to pay a stop payment fee that she said may not work is ridiculous. Thank you again Cheyenne @ King &Central you rock

Friendly, customer support, technology up to date. ( I am a cranky old Systems Engineer that worked for 2 banks & IBM.)

Customer service at my branch was…

Customer service at my branch was terrible. Don’t like leaving negative reviews so I won’t list the location in Georgia but i had to get this out. The teller at the counter just kept telling us what we were doing wrong and would not help us unlock our account to get in to our online portal. It took hours and a phone call to support while at the branch that we had to make. All to get money that we chose to deposit with you.

cashiers checkk deposit then removed overdrawn 10,000$ 12 days

i sold my ATV i had the folks give me a cashiers check, i also made a bill of sale, of which we both signed it and then had it notorized, i had the person go to the bank with me to make the deposit, upon which it was gladly deposited with a smile and none made available, so i excepted and left, the next mourning i checked my account and it was availlable, i withdrew 2500$ about two hoours later i was 10,000$ in the minus, no money, none, i called them and asked what the hell, the money was in my account, and they changed there mind, they said technically it wasnt a cashiers check, ih really then what was it, no question it was, which is a gaurenteed form of payment issued from funds from there bank, a certified check is funds issued from there bank thats there funds, either way they both work and if they ddont then whats the world coming to fifth third? so i asked when i could have my money, oh there juust holding it for the maximum amount of time allowed, and my account is overdraawn by 9000$ now from another deposit that went in in which i have stopped all and have diverted them too another account wells fargo i am so done with fifth third its unbelleivablle at times i havent beenn very responsible and over drew my account i have paid thoousands of dollars in overdraft fees they let me do it,, no problem they are holding this check for 15 days counting the weekend, this stupid stuff happens all the time, fifth third is all about themselves we unfoortunately live in a world where peope steal from others annd the best we can do is to take precaution to curb it, which i did, they dont care, how much is to much, i have other accounts and have zero problems this is my hometown bank, my direct deposit and others have been changed, i had to anything deposited towards moneey for me to live on would go towards the 9000$ overdraft id not see none of iit unti they say so i couldnt even live eat, buy my kids food nothing, its ridiculous fifth third is a pain in the you know what, these days ya got to take a little chance, i thought i had itpretty well covered, iits not like the deal was done complletly over the internet good lord i couldnt imagine what thry would do then

Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service. They regular lock me out of my mortgage account and are not open for customer support when they do this. Only way to unlock the account is call them and give an automated system my social security number, which is sketchy. I will never open banking with them due to their poor customer service - I have a mortgage with them because my mortgage was sold to them.
