You can study your heart out but when it comes to the exam don't expect to see any questions that relate to the practice papers even on the aat website. Its a total scam and should be investigated. They try to teach ethics - what a joke when they are not honest in the revision and mock papers. Absolutely mind and nerve destroying trying to pass when the questions in the exam are nothing like what is taught in college or the study material. Do they do this in order that many students will have to resit and therefore have to give aat more money? Yes they do.

Unfortunately I went to do my exam at the college 13th July, I submitted then guess what happened. The computer went crushed and I lost my exam. They keep calling me to re-book the exam but I don’t want to do it again is a waste of time rubbish. AAT you keep calling many times and let me tell you that you will be ignored

I failed an exam by 1% so paid for the exam to be remarked.

I received follow-up to my exam being remarked and was informed after a few weeks that my mark hadn't been upgraded.

5 months later, I'm in the process of preparing for the resit to this exam to get a pass, and I receiev an email informing me thatI had gained an extra mark anf therefore had passed the original exam .

Obviously great news that my exam was upgraded, but 5 MONTHS after I PAID for it to be remarked and they told me NO.

The amount this knocked my confidence when sitting my other exams was major, and I felt so rubbish about it all.

I paid to get it remarked for a reason and They gave me an answer. only to change it 5 months later.

I am now unable to get a refund for my resit exam that I have booked - so wasted close to £100 paying for the remark and the resit which were both useless.

Disappointment when studying so much and not being able to relate the questions in the exams, totally complex and difficult wording, can’t even review the questions we seated for so we can correct. Should change it if they are looking for students to pay and study Aat

Absolutely ridiculous! AAT made the biggest mistake to switch from Q2016 to Q2022. Failed ALL my exams with just a few marks away. Re-took one exam 5 times and still failed. The exam itself is very confusing, questions doesn't make sense, worded very differently to what I have studied. Some of the time the trial balance, SOPL/SOFP doesn't match the information given. Passing % is very high. AAT customer service is appalling, they don't try to resolve the issue but instead blame the opposite side. Exam doesnt open, it loads and loads and wastes so much time, really debating whether i should continue or not. My Level 2 experience was great until they changed to Q2022.

It's a devastating course. Really hard to pass. It's all about to mess you around. Loads to study from different sources books aat website and it's not easy to pass. People still failing who is already working... It's just heartbreaking and sad...Don't even bother with that course it's not even worth it the energy and stress levels they causing...AAT system itself is awful and is all about to pay the money...

I had many problems with their website when I was studying my AAT level 2 and now studying my level 3, first exercise from their website is wrong... The answer from the Trial Balance has been modified and dont match the information given.

Hope any better organization can take their place in the future, they are horrible; not only they dont care if exercises from their website are missing or incorrect, the website itself is not user friendly.

I also was having lots of issues with Surpass because my pc is not compatible, their reply: "can you borrow a computer from someone else?"

Update: Studing my AAT Level 3 Q2022 and as some other people's comments - I have done 3 exams now (Two being the same subject) and all suspiciously closed to pass but never passed ?? This is another big scam like the Post office - it should be investigated.

FSA is awarding the contract to other organizations, soon this unsystematic organisation would be on its knees.

Great opportunity for busy professionals. It all feels manageable whilst having a full time role and a family to look after. Also, there are great resources online.

Very poor. Would not recommend.
They moved to surpass viewer to access practice exams which has caused nothing but trouble. My work laptop banned the site/download due to lack of virus protection in surpass. Also doesn’t work on Chromebook laptop. Windows 11S also blocks surpass viewer to “block the installation of ransom and malware”. To allow on windows you have to turn off the S protection (once you turn it off you can’t turn it back on so your laptop won’t have the extra layer of protection). Goes to show the AAT have used cheap software without the thought to virus protection of users. My IT department advised Surpass is .exe program. This is an easy extension to hide malware within the downloads. Hence why every system/program blocks this.

No reply’s to emails about anything.

When performing the actual Exams the screens are ridiculously small (not the monitor screens but the question screens that pop up)

Would suggest starting the certificate level of the chartered exams and skip this shower of s**t out.

I had my first exam this evening at the end I submitted my answers and the there software just crashed and all my answers lost. The tutor didn't know what to do. This also happens on the mocks. Took a day off work and will probably have t ok to take it again.

Worst customer service in the world. Non Existent. They do not reply to email or answer their phones. I get the impression I'm just calling and emailing an empty chair in an office

Initially I left a stinging review made all the more stinging because of unacceptable call waiting times and zero email response. However a manager has now called me back and to a large extent rectified the situation so it's only fair that I update my score and review.

To be honest I regret to join AAT, the association is absent, totally absent just sent mail for asking renew fee. About that one, when they ask the cash they are very in!
I tried to call them and nothing, they always experience high volume of calls, in my two years probably I called only two times and I suppose that the other students as well they won't keep busy the line as they claim.
If I new in advance I would pick different association to start my accounting career however what is done is done.
I can give minus 5 stars otherwise I would give.

I am currently studying Level 2 in accounting. I studied the software Sage50. I booked an assessment with one of their providers, and they adviced that they usualy do Xero, but they could do Sage as well.
When I started the assessment, the software they used was Sage One which they never mentioned before.
Obviously since it was a complete different software, I didn't pass.
The problem now is that although I did the assessment with Sage and passed, AAT wouldn't take that certificate as an exception because I failed my first attempt (because a misinformation from one of their assessment providers) which shouldn't had happend anyway.

These guys do not deserve to have a single client. Do not waste your money. Customer service is terrible, inadequate and lazy.
