I’m incredibly happy with my experience at the Academy of Modern Celebrancy. The course materials are exceptionally professional - clearly structured, easy to follow and packed with valuable information. The videos are not only engaging but also highly practical, helping bring the learning to life in a really accessible way.

I am so pleased that I chose the AMC to train as a Celebrant. I have completed all three courses - Weddings, Namings and Funerals. The training itself if really varied, it is brilliant that you can do it in your own time and the content is a mix of videos, personal research, answering questions and tasks and writing and performing ceremonies. The final assessment gets you to perform a live and recorded ceremony with fake guests and this means you truly feel like you've done a ceremony when you come to stepping out into the real world.

I have now had bookings of my own from real clients for weddings, namings and funerals and I felt so equipped and confident in my ability.

The course also really helps you to harness why you are doing this, who you are and what kind of Celebrant you want to be. They give you real stepping stones for setting up your business and getting out there.

I had a super time training with the AMC!
the modules were interesting and fun to do and could all be done online at at your own convenience. I learnt so much about the the role of a celebrant and the unique way that they can change a couple's wedding day. I relished the chance to perform a wedding as part of the course - from listening to the the couple - to writing the script - to delivering the ceremony. It was so much fun and I was given excellent guidance along the way from an amazing mentor!
The AMC is truly supportive and still are now I have graduated! I'm so excited to start this new adventure. THANK YOU AMC!

From the start AMC support and guide you through the course. It is a journey of discovery about the world of celebrants and who you are. There are regular Q&A online sessions which enables you to ask questions of an experienced celebrant about the course, your concerns, your ideas - there are also other students on these sessions who can also offer their support. I did slot of research before choosing AMC to train me and it has certainly paid off as I feel confident in taking the next steps to launch my business as an independent modern celebrant.

Fantastic supportive organisation. Enjoyable course, really enjoyed the whole experience.

Sadly, my experience of AMC was not a positive one. I did not receive support from my mentor. Although I enrolled a good while ago and reached out for support MANY MANY TIMES, I never got the support advertised or promised. I actually waited 4 months for one reply and no reply at all from her for another. I was also locked out of their web site portal. It was renewed and revamped whilst I was learning but I wasn’t allowed access to the new platform as I was enrolled on the old one. I requested a refund and was refused as they could see I had at one point, been able to log it!! I personally wouldn’t recommend them….EVER.

I have recently completed the weddings element of the training and I can honestly say that after 37 years working in local government it has been one of the most inspirational and empowering experiences of my life. I love the fact that you can complete the course in you own time, although don’t underestimate the time needed for self study and script writing. That said, the support offered by the Academy is second to none with an assigned mentor, weekly Q and A sessions, themed webinars, student Facebook page as well as training videos and handbooks and not forgetting the really useful template documents. My mentor Miranda was absolutely brilliant with lots of tips and suggestions to perfect my writing and presentation style. I really feel that the Academy has helped me find my calling. I have used their sister company to develop my branding and website. If you are serious about celebrancy and are able to put the time into study I can highly recommend the Academy of Modern Celebrancy.

When I started my research to see the best company for me to do my Celebrant training with, I felt overwhelmed and not sure where to start.
I came across the Academy of Modern Celebrancy and immediately got an impression of energy and professionalism just from their website.
At their free online introduction, I felt that they were a supportive, passionate and modern company. I knew they were the right fit for me.
I signed up for the Celebrant Master Class, which covers Funeral, Wedding and Naming training.
The AMC Student Facebook community has been outstanding; no question is ever seen as daft, and the support from both the mentors and other trainees is fantastic.
I have recently successfully completed my Funeral Course. I thoroughly enjoyed the self-directed learning, which surprised me as I have always found studying over the years a bit of a chore. However, this was completely different as I learnt something new every day that has benefited me in my practice. Having a mentor's feedback, support and expertise is priceless and really helped my confidence. I felt fully prepared and equipped when I had the honour of delivering Funeral Ceremonies.
The guidance and support they also give you on starting your own business and marketing is outstanding.

I came to the AMC with only a small idea of want I wanted to achieve and no confidence that I could achieve it!
From the very beginning the support from the mentors who run the course to the mentors who guide you during your course the kindness and guidance have been above and beyond.
I have had some serious wobbles, thinking I couldn’t do this, but my goodness I was picked up, bucked up and given so much encouragement I carried on with renewed confidence.
The weekly zoom meetings are great for meeting your fellow trainee’s and everyone is so kind to help and share ideas.
This really has been an amazing experience, I am full of gratitude and just a little bit of self confidence and self belief again and I haven’t finished training yet!

You become part of an immensely supportive family of tutors, mentors and other students. From Day 1 you feel like you can ask questions and join groups to help you along the way. The coursework is a great mix of video, self-study, lives and assessments.

The AMC is a brilliant company, so well organised and resourced and the hybrid method of teaching and learning - genius!

The course itself is great - really clear, comprehensive and easy to follow. I liked the mixture of self study and more practical tasks with my mentor.

And my mentor was absolutely FANTASTIC. AMC matched us SO well and I feel like we really gained a lot from each other. Jess is inspiring and helped me be me and find my true celebrant self. Her support is invaluable and I am truly grateful for her encouragement and expertise.

I did a great deal of research when I was deciding to become an Independent Celebrant and AMC really stood out. My first impression was of a very professional and comprehensive course and it has more than lived up to my expectations. The course is thorough and I have learnt so much more than I ever could have imagined. I had a mentor who guided me through some of the more complex moments, and my marketing and sign off call was with Jennifer, the director of AMC. There is a strong community spirit and I couldn't recommend AMC highly enough.

I have genuinely learnt so much from my mentor Penny (from day one, when she led the first student Q&A that I attended). l was so inspired by her knowledge of the industry and her enthusiasm for helping all of us newbies!
I realise I have a long way to go but genuinely feel that through doing these courses l now have the skills and the knowledge I need to move forward.
Thank you for your time and especially for marking my script so promptly and thoroughly and giving me super helpful input that l was grateful to receive, and that I was able to add to my live script.

Yesterday I came to the end of my wedding ceremony mentorship with Lisa Flahant and I think it’s important for me to say a few words about my experience of being one of her mentees. From the first meeting on Zoom I felt welcomed; Lisa met me with a very warm, open smile and that made me feel immediately at ease. So, that’s definitely lesson 1 that I have taken on board as a trainee Celebrant – welcome all enquirers with a warm smile. Lisa has also been very encouraging about the importance of being my authentic self. I can feel rather intimidated by formal dress codes, and I really appreciated Lisa’s guidance and experience about being authentic as a Celebrant. It feels like this gives me the freedom to ‘dress down’, not ‘dress up’ for my future clients. Of course, I know to present myself clean and groomed, but Lisa has helped me to trust that I don’t need to go the whole 9 yards every time I have a Zoom or a face-to-face consultation with couples. So, lesson 2 is Gill, you’ve got to be you. I mean, who else can I possibly be?
The assignments have been learning a curve for me. I know my strengths, I am a good writer, so any positive feedback from Lisa about those skills was easy to take on because I trust it myself. And then there are the areas of new learning, new skills’ development such as the details of rituals, the stage management of the wedding ceremony, the performance side of the event. As adults we can be sensitive to feedback, well I know I can; I think it comes from school days not always being the most positive. For me that means tuning into the PURPOSE & INTENTION of comments in Lisa’s feedback. I have made an active decision to develop a growth mindset, and, for me, this has meant the following:
· Believe that I can learn new skills even at 54!
· Feel excited about taking a risk with something new
· See that ventures I have attempted in the past and have previously viewed as failures, were in fact learning opportunities that are helping guide the decisions I am making now
· Value feedback as part of the learning, rather than feel threatened or undermined by it
· Recognise gaps in my knowledge, skills and experience and believe that I can do something to shrink those gaps
So, lesson 3 for me has been to trust Lisa’s feedback because she is coming from a position of greater knowledge, skill, and experience than me. Trust her feedback because she respects the role of the Independent Celebrant and wants the industry to be represented by Celebrants of the highest calibre. Trust her feedback because I have met her on Zoom, she is warm and kind, so her feedback is offered only with positive intention and is there to help me on my own journey to being the best Celebrant I can be. She has been a thoughtful, generous mentor. Thank you Lisa.

I just want to say a massive thank you to Penny; she was my mentor through my completion of the wedding course. Penny was super helpful; she responded to questions promptly and was generous with both her time and information. She was always positive and encouraging ensuring she instilled a good level of confidence in me. I’ve just delivered my first ceremony and want to say a massive thanks again to Penny!

Studying with the AMC has been an incredible experience. I have just been 'signed off' as a wedding celebrant but the support, education and advice does not stop there! Once you become a student you are continually supported, encouraged and praised through out the course and then beyond - this follows you into your new career. It's brilliant!

Wow what a professional, knowledgeable, friendly and supportive organisation. The depth of content in each module and high standards are excellent, the support given from everyone , staff, mentors and Jennifer herself is marvellous. The motivation and sheer joy that you experience during the course is outstanding. If you’re contemplating doing a Celebrancy Course then The Academy of Modern Celebrants is the go to course .
