I had finished my book and wanted to order printed copies, but i wasn't sure how many i should actually get. i didn't want to order too many and have boxes sitting at home, but i also didn't want to order too few and have to place another order straight away. i spoke with authors expert about the printing and we went through the number of copies i needed and how the cost would work for different quantities,
i ended up calculating the copies based on what i planned to do with the books, i kept some for myself, wanted to give a few to people i knew, and planned to keep some available for readers, we looked at the total number of copies and the price per copy, which helped me decide on a quantity that made sense for me, i also asked about the paper and cover options because i wanted to know exactly what i was paying for before confirming the order,
once i approved the quantity, the books went into printing, i was a little nervous about ordering a batch because i had never done this before, but the numbers were clear by that point, when the printed copies arrived, i checked a few of them to make sure everything looked right, it was a nice feeling seeing the book as an actual printed copy rather than just a file on my computer the printing part taught me that even something as simple as deciding how many copies to order takes a bit of planning.
