We picked up a Rav 4 in Phoenix had it 6 days and drove to Page AZ then Vegas via Grand Canyon, New Avis car total price $626.37 AUD couldn't get that great price anywhere else. Car was good, Price was good. 5 stars from me. Used when in UK also had a great car/price there too.

Took the car. No problem!
Returned the car to Europcar in UK and they proceeded to charge me a second time.
Contacted Auto Europe but get no reply.
Avoid
Vague, misleading and unfair rental terms
AutoEurope's rental terms are misleading and unfair. The terms state "You and all Additional Drivers must present a full valid original Driving Licence... when picking up the vehicle. If your Driving Licence has multiple parts, you must present all of them." I used the AutoEurope site to rent a car through Europcar in Venice, with my husband as the sole driver. When we went to pick up the car, my husband produced his "full valid original Driving Licence" which showed an expiry date of 8 October and confirmation from the licensing authority (VicRoads) that his licence had been renewed and extended until 8 October 2035 (ie, he presented the multiple parts of his licence, to confirm validity). He also produced an International Drivers licence, as required. Despite this, Europcar refused to allow him to enter into a rental agreement, claiming that his licence expired on 8 October and would be invalid for the rental period. As a result, I was forced to enter into the rental agreement myself. This was not what we wanted or planned. We have multiple bookings in different cities in Italy which depend on having a rental vehicle, so we had no practical choice but to proceed in this way. I am now under considerable pressure, as I am forced to be the only driver for the full rental period of 36 days. I have contacted AutoEurope about this and they have been of no help, other than to site their vague, misleading and unfair terms, which I believe we have complied with. I will be escalating the matter with relevant authorities shortly.
Very disappointing
I am very disappointed with my recent car rental experience. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I arrived approximately two hours later than the scheduled pickup time. Unfortunately, the vehicle I had reserved was no longer available, and I was forced to upgrade to a higher category, resulting in an additional and unexpected charge of €360.
To make matters worse, the car I was given was in poor condition – visibly old and covered in dents. This is not the level of quality or service I expected, especially given the Overall, I am extremely dissatisfied with the lack of flexibility and the condition of the vehicle provided. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as I believe improvements are necessary to ensure better customer service in the future.

got a way worse car than I booked
I booked a dodge charger and was given a Chevy Malibu. Not even close quality or type of car. As Avis actually gave me the car, they told me that I’d hired a large car and the Chevy Malibu was in that range. The dodge charger was a premium model. When I sent them the image on my booking saying a dodge charger or similar, they said cause I didn’t book through them, I needed to contact autoeurope. They told me the dodge charger is classed as a large car. Case closed, two immoral businesses lying and me left with a shit car I didn’t want or order. Terrible experience!!! DO NOT HIRE THROUGH THEM!!!

Fraudulent credit card charges 8 months after my hire
Hired a car from Auto Europe but they allocated the hire to Dollar in the US. Dollar was a terrible experience, lengthy waits, rude staff and they charged our credit card with unauthorised expenses 8 months later. Autoeurope did request Dollar to clarify the charges - their response was it was tolls but they didnt have any paperwork or information to validate the charges on the tolls and it was up to me to chase up the toll company myself. So dollar charges me hundreds of dollars 8 months later for tolls they cant explain and auto Europe just sends me their response then ghosts me when i reply asking for more information. Be careful people, your credit card information is not safe with this company. Now i have had to file fraudulent charges with my bank and have my card cancelled.
