Horrid Avondale AZ Experience

Horrid experience at Avondale, AZ location. Luisa was hostile, combative and made verbal threats against me. I approached the counter and sat down, I was not greeted, I asked "How are you doing today?" Luisa said, "I'm just so done with today". She did not follow protocol by asking me, "Do you have any gum or candy in your mouth?" like every tech has asked me before taking my temperature before every donation I had. Luisa shoved the thermometer awkwardly in my mouth, it was so far against the left side of my mouth it was clanking against my teeth and not even underneath my tongue. The temperature reading was off so I had to try again. When I was seated again at the counter I was feeling extremely off, so far Luisa has shown that she does not and will not uphold herself to the same standards and protocols as her colleagues hold themselves to, as she is not verbally interacting with me with the questions I'm normally asked, such as "Do you have any gum or candy in your mouth?" When I placed my hand near the thermometer to hold it she grit her teeth and with an impatient tone of voice she said, "I have to put it in your mouth." I backed my whole body away in my chair, lifted my hands up, showing my palms, and in a confused tone of voice I said, "That's not how the other techs have done it." Immediately the volume of her voice increased and her tone has become infuriated, she snaps at me with the retort, "If you have a problem with it I'll get my manager." This was said in a petulant tone of voice, Luisa was conveying her lack of self control and lack of willingness to regulate her own emotions, she displayed the attitude of: "How dare you express agency in the donation process by expressing confusion or concern, I will punish you by stopping your donation right now and calling up my manager so she can make an example out of you!" Again, Luisa threatened to stall my donation process and by telling me she'll get her manager involved I said. "No, let's cooperate." Luisa's face twisted with disgust and she snapped back, "What do you mean?" I said I want to have my temperature taken following protocol. After she placed the thermometer in my mouth the second time I noticed that this time the device was placed underneath my tongue in the center of my mouth and not clicking against my teeth. When she was typing in the results I said, "I didn't know the other techs weren't following protocol." To which she replied, "Well, I'm not going to lose my job over this." I did not give Luisa any instructions or made any requests on how to do her job. It is extremely disappointing that Luisa was so hung up on her emotions that she herself neglected protocol and would rather assert dominance over a donor, threaten to stall the donation process after hearing a donor's expression of bodily autonomy, and disregard a donor's concerns when experiencing inconsistent procedures. Luisa did not follow the protocols she claimed to be following and honestly, her behavior and tone of voice left me feeling disgusted. When I was in the donation chair I shared my concerns with Denise the manager and she was was polite and professional as she heard me explain what kind of experience I had. Another employee beside her was also very polite and helpful in listening to my concerns. When I had the blood pressure cuff on my arm Denise checked in on me and asked, "Are you nervous?" and I told her I was still mad from the interaction I had with Luisa. Denise heard me out and treated me like a human being after I was treated in a very hostile and undignified way.

HARKER HEIGHTS TEXAS

I’m writing to share a very disappointing experience at your donation center. While I want to first acknowledge that the nurse assisting me did an outstanding job — professional, kind, and attentive — unfortunately, the same cannot be said about another staff member whose behavior deeply concerned me.

There is a tall, visibly pregnant white female employee who is consistently rude, dismissive, and disrespectful — especially toward non-white donors. I observed a stark difference in how she treated white donors with friendliness and smiles, while showing a condescending attitude toward Hispanic, Black, and Asian donors. Several other donors in line noticed this as well and shared similar sentiments — clearly this is not an isolated experience.

When I brought it to a manager’s attention, the only explanation given was that she is pregnant — as if that justifies unprofessional or discriminatory behavior. I’ve personally known many pregnant women in the workforce who continued to treat others with dignity and perform their roles with integrity. Pregnancy is never an excuse for bias or unprofessional conduct.

Moreover, it was clear this employee spends most of her time sitting and giving orders to both associates and donors, as if she were in a management role herself — which she is not. I also spoke with a few staff members while she was away, and their reaction — eye rolls and silence — said more than words ever could.

If she is unable to interact with donors respectfully and without prejudice, then she should be reassigned to a non-customer-facing role. Her current behavior is damaging your center’s reputation and creating a hostile environment for both donors and staff.

This kind of treatment is unacceptable and cannot be tolerated in any professional setting. If changes are not made promptly, I will escalate this issue to corporate and involve other donors who are also willing to come forward as witnesses.

Thank you for your time. I truly hope this matter is addressed with the seriousness it deserves.

What a joke

I drove 60 miles one way wasted my gas and morning just to be turned away. I do not recommend and I won't be returning.

It was opening day at the Georgetown

It was opening day at the Georgetown, TX location. Lots of new donors, of course. I thought that would slow everything down, but it didn't. The line was short and quick. Donation time went easy and smooth. Since it was opening day, they had snacks and drinks for everyone. I'll be back next week!

I always feel good when I walk in…

I always feel good when I walk in there. The staff call me by name, say nice things to me. Most encouraging to me, is they never hesitate to show their gratitude to me for donating
So I look forward to going there, for the friendly and professionally attentive staff, for them making me feel cared for; and recently, I spoke with a very young staff member who has been accepted into medical school. Impressive.

My daughter's concussion bills

My daughter, a single Mom of 2, passed out after giving plasma to get some money for bills on Jan 14 while in the waiting room immediately after. She fell out of her chair and hit her head on the floor which resulted in a concussion. They called an ambulance to take her to the ER. They told her not to worry because since it happened in their office, the bill would be theirs to pay. Since then she has been in regularly called the office here in Abilene & in the metrolplex to get someone to take care of the bills. As of today, May 23 not even district management has contacted her or attempted to pay the bills. She has now been turned into credit bureau and her credit is trashed. DO NOT GO to this place for anything unless you have the ability to pay for medical expenses. Their services may be as reliable as their word.

RUN!!!!!

CSL is way better! The experiences I’ve had at BioLife were nothing short of awful! Mss deferred low protein conveniently occurs days after the manger decides to help out on the floor and sticks me well the machine went nuts I didn’t get my rbc returned and was able to donate HOWEVER this time the lady comes hack with blood vials doesn’t say a word I had to ask what is this for? Oh we need to check your protein. I was able to schedule two appointments this morning on day of appointment when I was attempting to change the time I see a message I can’t donate need SPE protein test call this place they never man their phone lines had to drive up see manager see nurse for her to tell me my protein was low! I call BS! 1. I’ve been donating at CSL for years not once did I have any issues! 2. I eat extremely well and workout 4 times a week! Stay away from this grabage place! Go where they appreciate you and won’t lie and cheat you !

Stay away!!

This is in regards to the Las Vegas Nevada location on Sahara. While the equipment is absolutely fantastic, the staff is rude, inexperienced, and completely unprofessional. Even with an appointment plan to be there at 2 to 3 hours. Simply not worth it.

Took over 3 hours horrible management

Whoever is managing the Oklahoma City location needs fired. They are severely understaffed and employees are burnt out. It took over 3 hours today due to lines and just sitting waiting to be hooked up and then taken off. I feel so sorry for the overworked staff who will probably have to work until midnight because the lines were still there several hours after close. This location has gone downhill I have been giving over a year and each time I go in it is less efficient and takes longer and they got new fancy fast machines. They are horrible.

Don't want new donors

I am new and I was told that they needed additional information from my provider. i signed a release of information form and they faxed it over to my provider. It has been about 2 weeks and I haven't heard anything and when I call it rings once and goes to VM. I have also emailed them with no response. I called my providers office and they stated they sent over the information that was requested.

Absolutely horrible management and…

Absolutely horrible management and staff! Staff that work there are rude and act like they are better than you. Also staff gossip on the floor about donors and staff that they don’t like. VERY,VERY unprofessional! Management and staff members needs to be fired! Also they refuse to pick up or answer the phone! Absolutely horrible!

Badly managed location

Location in Waco TX is terribly mismanaged.
The company as a whole has a great booking system.
The personnel responsible for running this location have a fundamental disconnect in understanding the booking system in relation to staffing scheduling.

Facility has 36 stations.
Accepts bookings on most mornings for 24 by my estimate and only staffs for 12 resulting in long unnecessary queues.

This has been consistently observed over my visits here.

If i could give a negative 5 star…

If i could give a negative 5 star rating i would these people are as unprofessional as they come they can't do there job correctly and they will give you the boot for them not doing thier job correctly this is the worst place I've ever been and had to ever deal with they can't get a needle in your arm I've also had my blood shoot across the room a few times because they don't know how to close off the line and yet I got the boot for them not doing thier job gtfo!

they except freshly illegal immigrants (those in the country under 90 days that speak zero English ), which lowers the overall money citizens get.
if they don't like you they will get you deferred for life from every plasma donation nation wide.
