Like most control software, it is a waste of time. Fortunately it's free. Unusually however, it does literally nothing. Oh, but it offers a youtube you can watch on how to achieve no blocking whatsoever, you can waste more of your time on that.

Absolutely do not buy blockerX. Only works in google, as soon as you download edge or Firefox the blocker doesn't work and shows you all adult related content. Their response was they are trying to update their technology, what they don't advertise is that they only work on one browser and you only have 3 days to get s refund. Customer service is rubbish also with the classic robotic answers and then ghosting. Terrible blocker, unethical and steals your money for a product that doesn't do what it specifically says it does. DONT BUY.

Now they start invading your browser with pop-up ads to make you subscribe to their premium version, DEFINITIVELY DO NOT DO THAT.

Alongside the scammy, red-flag behaviours other users have reported below, the app has recently started doing something absolutely awful. Unistalled and switched to much better, free, FocusGuard.

Alongside all the other incessant invites to join the paid plan (which are fair enough), BlockSite has in the past couple of months started displaying *animated, dancing pop-ups* covering the bottom corner of the screen, with no obvious means of closing it, or any explanation of what it is or where it's from, so you end up clicking it to see where it's coming from to get rid of it, and it takes you to the 'pay for Blocksite' page.

This is meant to be an app for limiting distractions. Presumably they're aware of the costs of 'task switching' and all that we're coming to know about the difficulty of sustained attention, and marketing themselves as a solution. But they have specifically designed the free version of their app to be deliver the most un-ignorable distraction they could possibly think up, before then asking you to pay.

Like a co-worker p*ssing in your coffee then asking for a raise to stop doing so.

Absolutely inexcusable. Uninstalled.

The premium service is completely useless as it can be disabled in two clicks:

First, click on your user image in the chrome extension.

It will direct you to your user page. Then click on log out and the lock will no longer work.

Blocksite just illegitimately blocked me from accessing 3 legit news sources while I was trying to read articles about a certain political leader's dangerous policies. I was denied access to these sites which Blocksite had labeled porn - I didn't even have any blocking categories set up!! This was legitimate news from legit major news sources. Delete this evil service from your browser or phone ASAP

Hit or miss ie it didn't work well. Refused to refund remaining amounts on term after they autorenewed me and I cancelled the service once I saw the renewal notice (ie within days of renewal). Customer support stopped responding once I stopped the dispute through the CC company (per their request). May have to restart the dispute.

I keep getting money taken out after cancellation of subscription, there's unsatisfactory customer support. I had contacted my bank to stop money coming out of my card and cancelled my visa card from Google Play. Dispute still ongoing.

I do not use blocksite. Today I went to use my Twitter account and found it blocked by Blocksite. I had to go into Blocsite to undo what THEY did. As I do not use Blocsite.

What games are being played? Blocksite under the control of Google/Alphabet and Sundar Pinchai?

Lifetime membership as an early adopter. I have it on both mobile and desktop and it does help the instinctive distractions from getting out of hand.

This app is great at blocking websites and has helped me focus on my studies. The problem earlier was that I would get distracted a lot. This app has helped me solve that problem. the only issue is that it is very easy to bypass.

I decided years ago to buy the lifetime membership 4 years ago, as I have ADHD, and distractable is my middle name. So, when I first started at university I decided to make it so foolproof that I couldn't just turn it off, I got ALL media based like youtube, facebook, netflix, porn etc etc and set them all to never become unblocked so long as I used my that laptop. Then I asked a family member to type in a password while I wasn't looking and pressed confirm to block my capability to circumnavigate this block due to ADHD dopamine deficit impulses.

A few years later, I can no longer block these websites as "Blocksite.co doesn't have any record of your lifetime membership".

What a load of baloney! I even showed them the transaction and they still refused to acknowledge my lifetime membership. HUGE SCAM!

EDIT: I don't remember the exact date that I bothered to get in touch with this application creator, it was a while ago. I was so frustrated that I just decided to move on, as I was very busy at the time.

Scam that its impossible to cancel subscription. Everytime you try to cancel a window pops up saying "technical issues" avoid the headache and use something else

hi, its still a best apps to block, i'm very gratefull you consider to add time limit per apps. but i found some issue.
1. time limit not reset every day.
2. i think focus mode is better on the old update.
3.its easy to bypass the block.

hope you consider to check it again.

It’s so easy to switch on again once you blocked a site - So I don’t really see the point. It doesn’t permanently block sites. Also they make it impossible for you to contact them. So they are very good at blocking their customers

The most annoying extension ever. Pops up non-stop to say I should let it stop annoying pop ups waste my time. Couldn't get rid of it quickly enough.

A site is an excellent tool for blocking pop-up windows. However, an added app should be unnecessary because blocking the sites directly through your computer should be enough. But people hack and track your computers because they obsess. It is SMALL businesses that can not function properly. It is the AI in those companies. The things built into the computer should already work!
