The hotel itself is a lovely building and promises a lot looking through the on-line description but it does need some TLC, which it probably hasn't seen since before Karma took it over from Best Western. It was a puzzle why renovations hadn't been done during the Covid lockdown since it was acquired before lockdown: would seem an ideal time to me. I was also left feeling suspicious of the Karma Club that was given the "big sell" treatment by two of their reps., "this is our best offer but if you sign up today I can do even better." I'm still unclear on what financial commitments might have been expected and the subtleties of partial ownership vs timeshare.

Had a great long weekend away at Karma Lake of Mentieth and Andy & Adele were great hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. The staff at the hotel are lovely and very accommodating, nothing is too much trouble for them. The morning and evening views are stunning and walking around the lake is very peaceful. Most of the meals were well tasty although we found the Sunday Roast was a bit of a let down.

The hotel needs a lot of work. We were told that there were problems with getting permissions as its a listed building, however some of the simple things could be fixed without this i.e. only 2 shirt/dress hanger and 2 pretty useless trouser/skirt hangers. Leaky bathroom towel radiator - which didn’t work - but just stop the leak! Provide brollies to get from the main building to the other block of rooms.

Lovely staff, so helpful with advice when making a booking. Always called back to ensure all ok.

We went to Karma Lake of Menteith for 4 nights in late October with our dog.. Beautiful Deluxe suite overlooking serene lake.. Staff went above & beyond giving us a warm welcome.. Continental breakfast free which had all options from pastries,various fresh fruits to salami & cheese.. All cooked options available with a 20% discount to menu price on all items.. Rural location so a vehicle necessary to get around.. We really enjoyed the break more than we expected as this was a location we wouldn't have thought to try..

I did not have to repeat all information that I had given earlier.The booking was easy to do and the booking agent was very friendly.

Well, the lady l spoke to was quite friendly and professional, and l was quite impressed with that.

The main building is beautiful, quirky little sitting room with juke box and games room with huge pool table and record player. Pub is cute with nice court yard garden. Staff friendly and welcoming, but very much felt like most were still in training which is fine, but little things were getting overlooked (same glasses on the table outside 3 days in a row) Breakfast was basic could have a bit more choice, we ate in the conservatory as we had the dog. (Which was a real bonus to bring her as a treat) but did feel forgotten as often missing things in the morning on our table butter, glasses etc can't comment on restaurant we couldn't use as we had the pup so ate out.

We took part in the deal to sit in on a meeting based on Kama holidays for a big reduction on the price of the room. Which is really the only reason we came, as we wouldn't have been able to afford a holiday otherwise. Meeting was fine not too pressured, but we are not really the demographic as we don't have free time, age group or heve spare money to invest in this.

Honestly the room we were put in (old stables opposite main building) are no where near worth the full price asked and if I was paying that I would have left and asked for my money back. I completely understand its a listed building and any updates will take a long time, but walls paper thin (I mean it, you need ear plugs) bathroom cracked tiles, weak shower, odd placement of loo?
Windows need looking at, during a windy night they shake.... the bed was comfy tho. Felt very much like we were in the outhouses I am sure the rooms in the main house are much more impressive, my partner and I just took advantage of this deal and spent the time exploring on a rare holiday away from our business.

The area is 100 worth visiting, Shakespeare County lots of cute towns villages close by, Worcestershire is a great place to spend the day and many pubs that are dog friendly for evening meals.

So if you are worried about taking deal, do it enjoy the area, take ear plugs and don't expect luxury in your room.
