COMPLETE SCAM - Aggressive, Illegal Sales Tactics & Refusal to Refund
It is a complete scam. I was contacted via phone and told I had won a competition. I was very skeptical and did not want to buy into it, but the company continuously passed me from salesperson to salesperson, and their tactics became increasingly manipulative and aggressive.
At one point, a salesman literally called me "stupid" for doubting him, asking if I was stupid for refusing to pay £160 to claim this "amazing free holiday." I felt under so much pressure that I finally relented. However, within 10 minutes of seeing the confirmation email, I realised exactly what had happened and that I had been scammed.
I have been trying to get a refund since June 2nd, strictly following UK consumer law for my 14-day cooling-off period. The company refuses to process my refund in writing and is insisting that I call them. Why would I call them just to be subjected to more of their manipulative, high-pressure sales tactics?
If they do not issue a refund, I am reporting them to Action Fraud and Trading Standards. I am reporting this transaction to Trading Standards under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008.
Their representative falsely claimed I had "won a competition" to solicit payment. This is a criminal offence and a banned commercial practice under Schedule 1, Paragraph 31 (Creating the false impression that a consumer has won a prize, but making the claiming of that prize subject to paying money). I am also reporting the high-pressure tactics used as an "Aggressive Commercial Practice" under Regulation 7.
Avoid this company at all costs. Do not give them your card details.
