For a start they don’t return calls!! I bought a Delonghi coffee machine from BT and is now tripping my fuses, it is still under warranty. BT’s solution is to carry this very heavy machine back to them for fixing, this is not a practical solution and they were most unhelpful
Shockingly bad customer service
I recently purchased a concealer from their Grafton Street store after requesting assistance from a member of staff to select a cool-toned shade suitable for fair skin. I explicitly asked the staff member for a cool undertone. After returning home and checking the Charlotte Tilbury shade guide, I realised I had been given shade 2.5 (neutral/warm) instead.
The product remains completely unopened, and I emailed customer service to ask whether I could return the item to the BT in Blanchardstown, as it will be a lot easier for me than having to commute to the city centre (I do not live in Dublin).
Unfortunately, I have been informed repeatedly that it can only be returned to the original store of purchase.
The issue here is not simply their return policy. The problem is that their staff member recommended the incorrect shade, and despite explaining that I do not live in Dublin, I have been offered no practical assistance or alternative solution.
In addition, my email of 28 February asking two straightforward questions was not answered:
- How long do I have to return the item?
- Am I eligible for a refund if I cannot return to Grafton Street soon?
Instead, my email was ignored, and when I complained about it, I received the same template response repeated several times without addressing my questions. Customer service has been shockingly inadequate throughout my latest purchase.

Excellent service at Estee Lauder counter
I was looking to try Estee Lauder foundation for the 1st time. The main counter was busy but the lady told me to ask for Ian in the new beauty section. He was so knowledgeable as well as being amazingly pleasant and helpful. I was delighted with the service I received. Well done and thank you Ian!
Customer service, Returns Department and Dispatch Dpt all in disarray it seems
They received my return tracked through An Post on the 10th January. I had to continuously seek out updates through the App and via email, which were frequently ignored. Turned out their Returns Department had lost my return. They never sincerely apologised or took ownership. On the 27th Jan I was told my return was located and I would be compensated “shortly”. Again I had to chase this up, I contacted the head of customer service. On the 6th Feb I was told compensation would be issued that day, it wasn’t received until the 20th Feb.

Missed a very important birthday present. And they have the cheek to charge almost €6 for postage that’s not even on time. Will never shop with them again & urge everyone to Boycott these criminals.

Brown Thomas Click and Collect - Never Again
I wouldn't recommend using the click and collect service from Brown Thomas as if there is an issue with your order from my experience it is a nightmare trying to get it resolved. I received a gift for Christmas that was faulty (there was a cut in the material of the shoe) and I have been trying to get a replacement pair since the 28/12/2026. When I went into store I was advised that although it was a faulty item (which two members of management confirmed) until I had agreement from the online customer service department they couldn't assist me. It took days to get a response to my request and although 2 members of management had looked at the fault and I submitted photos they advised that I needed to return the shoe for them to consider the issue. It took over 3 weeks to receive a returns postage slip and then i didnt hear a thing. I had to ring customer service who noted it had been marked for a replacement for 6 days yet I had heard nothing. She advised she would follow up and ring me back to advise of a timeline for a replacement. Not surprising but no call was received just an email issued to advise a refund has been processed. This all could have been avoided if the staff within the store are equipped to deal with faulty items purchased online or if my original ask to place the pair in the warehouse on hold until this issue was resolved. This show is no longer available.

I ordered peppa pig toy items for my preschoolers before I move on to my new employment. It was ordered back in mid January and there was a problem with an post delivery as they were behind schedule which I know wasn't their fault , but Brown Thomas customer service did make sure that my items were delivered on time and even got a phone call to make sure I was satisfied and I couldn't have been happier with the service and assistance they provided for me as a customer. Both companies BT and Arnotts are fantastic and I highly recommend them for instore and online shopping. Many thanks for your amazing assistance,

It is impossible to speak to an actual person get any updates or information . The so called 'live chat ' is obviously a bot and just gives automated answers ,the same with email.
