My experience with CFI and the FMVA® program has been extremely valuable, especially in strengthening my practical skills in financial modeling, valuation, and corporate finance.

As someone increasingly focused on Equity Research and the Mining sector, I would also love to see two developments from CFI:

1. An update of the Mining Financial Modeling course, with deeper coverage of mining-specific drivers such as production volumes, grades, recoveries, commodity prices, operating costs, sustaining and growth CAPEX, mine life, reserves/resources, and NAV-based valuation.

2. A dedicated Equity Research Certification Path, potentially allowing candidates to combine a strong core ER curriculum with sector or subsector specializations — for example Mining & Metals, Oil & Gas, Banks & Financials, Technology, Consumer, Utilities, Industrials, Healthcare, and Real Estate.

A structured path combining accounting, modeling, valuation, industry analysis, earnings analysis, investment thesis development, catalysts, risks, and sector-specific KPIs could be extremely valuable for professionals preparing for Equity Research roles.

Thank you for continuing to build such practical and career-oriented learning programs.

I was very comfortable with the overall course's contents, presentations, excesrcices and evaluations as well.
Especially, my unforgettable events were the practicality of those working examples and demonstrations of the modules.

The courses are practical oriented. They are applicable to real-life situations. The tutors were excellent in their mode of delivery and the courses were very well organized.

It's very good experience

My journey was new, impactful and very very useful. The online course videos were clear, precisely not bored at all. It is like been in a live classroom. The knowledge that I have earned are very realistic and applicable in our day to day Corporate finance field. I am glad and grateful that I have done the FPAP Certification and I am looking forward to explore more courses to enhance my skill and knowledge.

Going through the program was a genuinely great experience from start to finish. What I appreciated most was how practical the whole curriculum is. CFI’s FMVA program has been an excellent complement to my university studies. It helped me develop practical financial modelling and valuation skills that are difficult to acquire through academic courses alone.

It Was Very Reach with models and analysis methods that help any accountant to be part of FP&A

Quand j'ai commencé mon FMVA, j'avais des appréhensions parce que je ne m'y connaissais pas vraiment en analyse financière encore moins en modélisation. J'avais certes certaines connaissances acquises mais cette certification m'a permis de comprendre le « pourquoi » de certaines applications et de pouvoir expliquer leurs enjeux réels. La meilleure partie de cette certification a clairement été pour moi, les techniques de budgétisation et les outils de décision tels que la NPV, IRR et l'IP. Mais le meilleur fut les techniques de valorisation (income approach (DCF), relative approach (public company comparable et precedent transactions)).

The course materials helped me develop valuable Excel skills. I have worked in accounting for nine years and am currently studying ACCA, so my accounting background helped me progress quickly through FMVA’s accounting and finance materials.

FMVA taught me how to structure data and navigate spreadsheets more effectively, which I was able to apply immediately at work. The MIN and MAX functions also proved particularly useful, helping me work more efficiently and reduce my reliance on IF statements.

My next step is BIDA, and I’m working towards securing an FP&A role.

A big thank you to the entire CFI team for providing such a wonderful curriculum and breaking down the courses in a way that makes them easy to understand. Looking forward to the next certification!

Each lesson was well crafted and clear. I liked that I am able to skip through certain lessons that I am already familiar with as well.

The course was over repetitive and barely got into detail on how to do waterfalls, IRR hurdles. The course is made so the student only fills in gaps instead of creating a financial model from scratch, which is done in most real life cases. Dilution was never mentioned even though it is a great part of valuing a portfolio company.

Wonderful and I did get valued for money.

CFI's courses are well structured and practical. The content is clearly explained, making complex finance concepts accessible. Great value for someone transitioning into finance. Highly recommend for career changers.
