The poles I bought, do not appear to be well designed at all!

Why is the fastening cleat on the opposite side to the pulley?

The fastening arrangement for the pulley is a loop of steel cable clamped together with the cut ends protruding. I cut myself on the unprotected end. Also it is a poor substitute for a good solid bolt fixing.

Arrived as scheduled and now up and running with a washing line again

Ordered a washing line pole. Arrived fairly quick and in good condition. No problems.

I got exactly what I ordered. It arrived on time. What more can I say?

Easy to order the washing line pole from Charles Watson Ironmongers website. I was able to pay by PayPal and given a date of delivery for the next day.
It arrived the next day as advised.
Brilliant service. I would recommend it.

We arrived to return an item sold by B&Q and dispatched by Charles Watson.
When the items arrived I tried to return them but B&Q would not entertain the return and said contact Charles Watson iron mongers up Pellon lane in Halifax as they are there product just sold by us.

I contacted B&Q customer service several times to see if I could return them to B&Q store or there returns centre but they said no as it’s sold by them but dispatched from the seller (Charles Watson)
So when I then eventually went for my refund from Charles Watson I arrived and I seen a chap loading a pallet outside and asked how to gain access where is the door.
The chap looked at me like something he stood in and pointed to the door when I got in side the shop I was met by a even worse member off staff who was rude and rather than ask how May I help he said yes what.

Amazing customer service BTW (NOT)

I said I’m here for a return he then said where is he I said not sure who your on about I’ve never been to this store before.

It soon came clear he was talking about his manager then he said there’s someone here for a B&Q refund I heard the manager shout from outside NO tell him to go to B&Q.

I went to the door and explained the situation the manager then said B&Q are useless and it’s down to them to sort it not us so I had to beg for him to deal with it he said he would refund in around 5-10 mins after he’s had his Apple 🍏.

I waited half hour and still no refund so went back in store and told them no refund or confirmation email as promised the guy in the shop was very abrupt when I said can you tell manager to print me prove of return instead so I can go please he replied with WHAT in a abrupt voice then said I will tell him when I’ve finished what I’m doing not before.

What kind of service does Pellon lane Charles Watson in Halifax provide as I was sent away a very annoyed customer and will never shop with them again or the entire company.

Another chap was outside working and looked at me and SPAT a large amount out of his mouth on the floor as he stared at me ohhh my god how unprofessional.

I am going to file a full report with B&Q regarding this as well as it was an absolute disgrace.

Product was as expected. Easy to install. No instructions for securing the sockets, but I used a youtube video and some postcrete, and it was simple enough. I asked a product question via the website and it was answered within 24 hours.
Washing line poles are very sturdy. Good value.
