I have only started my weightloss journey with the help of Alex and thesportsdietician.co.uk. I spoke to Alex about my ongoing struggle with my weight from I had my first child almost 27 years ago, he was so helpful & supportive. He very kindly offered me the course for FREE which I really can't Thank him & the rest of the team for. I have found the video's very helpful & I have watched them a few times. I have taken lots of notes & have also started my own weightloss journal on how to lose weight & I feel positive that I will be able to sustain it longterm with the help & support from Alex & his wonderful team of professionals. I can't wait to be able to post my before and after photos when I get to my target weight.

My experience so far has been great, like anything you get what you put in.
Is it cheap no.. does it get you thinking it’s a pyramid scheme, or scam yes initially, as you think it all sounds to good to be true.
Have I become one of those people that loses Xlb in Xweeks yes I have.
Is it like anything that you have tried before no it isn’t.
Sure you can ask Chat GBT for a calorie structure focused on protein, sure you can go to the gym, but you will you solve the root cause. Nope.
I see TSD as a diet coach, a mental health coach, mindset coach and any other coach that you need to be healthy and fit for the future.
5 stars would have been given if I knew in advance the elite access costs and how to work with it. Would I have still paid it??? Possibly, or possibly not as I am still working on fear!

I am SO glad I started this programme!
I am SO glad I started this programme 8 weeks ago. Although I’ve lost weight the biggest changes have been in my mindset and my ability to reclaim my own life in the way I want it, rather than in what the future had in store. Jock (my coach) has been so supportive throughout, every time I’ve had a wobble he’s helped me stay on track and when I’ve needed advice he’s offered it. The rest of the TSD team are amazing and the support from within the group itself has been brilliant. There is no judgement just support. If you’re feeling nervous about doing this then I’d say jump right in - it will be the best decision you make for yourself. Who doesn’t want to be around for their children/ grandchildren in the future?

I have just started with this and I am delighted with the videos and sheets to print out and use every day. The presenter is helpful and understanding. The goals I have set my self to walk for at least an hour every day should be easy to achieve.I feel good about this programme and think that I will be able to lose weight, improve my health, and be more confident in myself.

55Ibs and 100cm lost for ever!!
In April 2023 I was 53 years old and the heaviest weight I’d ever been. I felt fat, ugly and old and I was starting to feel the affects of being 19st 3Ibs. I had aching joints, got out of breath going up the stairs, struggled to get up and down off the floor, had difficulties doing up my shoes or painting my toenails and getting out of the bath was a challenge, to name a few! I was worried that, if I was struggling to do these things in my 50’s, how would it impact my health and mobility in my 60’s and 70’s. I didn’t want to be a burden to my kids in the future, I wanted to be strong fit and healthy to enjoy retirement when it came and to be able to fully enjoy any grandchildren I might be blessed with in the future.
I had tried EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING. All the crazy diets, pills, fads and gimmicks out there. I would lose a bit, then plateau, get disheartened and give up and then put it all back on plus loads more. Each time I made an attempt to address my weight, I just ended up heavier and heavier. I was scared, I knew if I didn’t do something I would soon be 20 stone!
One Sunday morning I was scrolling on FB and Alex Nielan popped up (He does that! He appears when you need him most!). In his post, he talked about debunking all the BS of fads and gimmicks (all the ones I had tried!) and he talked about the 8 pillars of sustainable weight loss. He caught my attention because he used the word sustainable and he freely admitted he wasn’t offering a ‘quick fix’. That was important to me. I needed something I could do long-term so that I could lose the weight for the last time and keep it off! I watched the video twice and I made notes. I did some research and checked out the Trust Pilot reviews (just like you are!). I liked what I read, and Alex made a lot of sense BUT, I have to admit that I was still sceptical because I had failed so many times in the past, how was this time going to be any different? The fear of failure was overwhelming, but I had nowhere else to turn, I had tried everything, and I was desperate, so I took the plunge and reached out to Alex.
TSD are about SO much more than just weight loss. It is a holistic programme focused on health and vitality, mental and emotional wellbeing and physical strength and fitness through strength and resistance training. There are a team of professionals available to support and guide you when you need them; dieticians, behaviour change specialists, mindset coaches, psychologists, physiotherapists, and coaches. When I started working with TSD, I was assigned a Coach, Emma. Emma was a God send. In the beginning, I was in contact with her every day and she has supported me every single step of the way. She is my biggest cheerleader, teacher and emotional support. She encourages me, celebrates with me when I hit my goals and keeps me accountable, but not in a harsh or judging way. She always keeps it real and says it like it is, always has my back and totally understands when life gets in the way sometimes. I just can’t put into words what having her by my side has meant to me. She is my absolute rock, and I couldn’t have achieved what I have without her.
Whilst working with TSD I have achieved more than I ever thought I could and I’m not just talking about the 55Ibs and 100cms I lost. I joined a gym (me!) and I attend Group PT sessions 4 times a week (which I LOVE!!), I completed two Tough Mudder events to raise money for charity, I enrolled on a weightlifting programme (me!) and have deadlifted 60kg!! Oh, it doesn’t end there!! I have learnt about nutrition and how to balance macros, how to fuel my body well and how to eat with my eyes (no, eat with my eyes isn’t a typo!). I have attended master classes and learnt strategies for dealing with cravings and emotional eating, how to battle self-doubt, self-sabotage and how to feel the fear and do it anyway! It has been an absolute rollercoaster of a journey, and I’ve loved every minute.
Even if you don’t believe it can work, just try it!! Believe in yourself, invest in yourself, do something for you and put yourself first for once because you are definitely worth it. On the other side of this amazing programme is the person you’ve been waiting for, the person you’ve always wanted to be. A happier, healthier, fitter, more confident you, I promise you won’t regret it! What have you got to lose!?
Making the decision to reach out to Alex and to put myself first for the benefit of my long-term health so that I can live my best life and be around as long as possible for my family, has changed my life. Apart from bringing my 5 awesome kids into this world, TSD has been the BEST thing I have EVER done!!

I decided to take the plunge
I decided to take the plunge and see what the sportdietician was all about. I’ve been unhappy with my weight and have been struggling to lose anything for quite a while. I’ve been dogged with a back problem which has impeded my exercise routine massively.
After a long text conversation with Alex, where we discussed my eating habits and triggers and what the course would entail for me, I was given a monthly cost for the course which was £275.00 a month. One of my triggers for eating the wrong stuff is my current financial state, which isn’t good! I explained that unfortunately this wasn’t doable for me, but thanked Alex for his time.
Alex then offered me a metabolic mastery course of approximately 3 month duration valued at £997.00 for free as his aim is to help one million people become the best versions of themselves.
I’m hoping that with tailored help and guidance I can break my bad habits and choices for good.

My husband can't believe how my body shape has changed
I have always taken pride in being fit and healthy, so putting on a stone and going up 1-2 dress sizes as a result of moving into a stressful job and hitting menopause in my mid-forties, not only meant that I couldn't fit into my favourite clothes any more, but also slowly ate away at my self-confidence to the point where I felt self-conscious and unattractive. As a mother of two teenagers, I have put myself last for a long time, so I also felt like I was gradually losing my identity. Then, by chance, I came across Alex at The Sport Dietitian on Facebook saying, 'If you don't make time for yourself, you're less likely to be around in the future,' and I realised that instead of blaming it on hormones or work, it was up to me to do something about it. More importantly, ‘If you don’t make time for health, you’re going to have to make time for illness’, made me realise that I had to do it now, as there is a history of cancer in my family and I really want to be here for my children (and hopefully grandchildren) in the future. So far, after nine weeks and thanks to the support of my coach, Andy, and the TSD team, I have lost 3kg and several centimetres. More importantly though, I already feel stronger, have much more energy and self-confidence and am starting to get back into those favourite clothes again. The other day, my husband even commented on how my body shape is changing and said that I look and feel more toned – without prompting! There is still a long way to go before I reach my target weight and get back into all my size 8 clothes again, but I know that the tools I have been given as well as the knowledge I have gained since starting the Sustainable Change Programme will help me to get there – I am in the right mindset. So, if anyone else is contemplating signing up, but perhaps a bit unsure about what is involved or whether it is right for them, I would definitely recommend getting in touch. Everyone at TSD is so friendly and helpful and they will make it work for you, as long as you are prepared to make it work too. As Alex always says, ‘It’s not a quick fix’, but it will enable you to set off on your journey to being a happier, healthier version of you. By putting myself first, I am feeling more healthy, positive, attractive, confident and happy than I have in a while – exactly the kind of role model that I would like to be for my children.

My biggest wins
Over the past 3 years, after a period when my weight plateaued, I have given up thinking I could lose the weight. My BMI was in the Obese category, i had trouble breathing, couldn't do the things I wanted to do, felt embarrassed when I went to deliver lectures and trainings and given the weight loss experiences I had had over previous years, coupled with my age (64) I thought this was my lot and I had to get used to it. But then a magical thing happened, and I had a post from Alec and The Sports Dietician, pop into my instagram feed. This friendly face and positive message really struck me, and I so I found out more. I learnt that this program wasn't just about weight loss, there were a whole team of people to build your self belief and confidence, a whole community of women who are some of the most courageous, kind and supportive women I have ever had the privilege to spend time with, and huge amount of training and resources to help you along the way. Statements like 'don't use self talk to describe your situation, use self talk to change it' and 'acknowledge your limitations but don't give up' really made me see that this wasn't just about less food, but it would me shift my mindset. I am now on week 9 of a 12 week program and i have lost 16lbs and 30 cm of fat, and i am only just getting started. I am standing taller, both physically and emotionally, changing things in my life to keep myself fit and strong and am in touch with my coach Rab (complete star!) when i get stuck.The first hurdle is valuing yourself enough to take that leap and get involved having that mindset of I'm worth this and then trusting the process. Whatever your hesitations, please get past them and get involved, then you will understand why so many of us are here and become strong healthy women. Now putting myself first wasn't an easy step, but knowing i am now doing everything I can to be here for my family for as long as possible gives me great joy so thank you Alec and the team - you arrived when I most needed you and you are simply amazing !!!

Best decision I’ve ever made.
I’ve had so much support from everyone: Alex, the Inner Circle and especially Amy, my coach. Always a kind word but keeping me focused.
I can’t say it was easy at the beginning, but trusting in the process is paying off. I’m on week 9 and down 9kilos. Pretty good I reckon.
If you have any doubts, don’t. It’ll be the best thing you’ve even chosen to do for you.

Ive lost over 2 stones and gained physical fitness and my mental health has improved so much
I joined TSD in August 2023 aged 60, when I was over 12 and a half stone, which at 5’3” was too much. I was wearing size 16 clothes and I felt sluggish, unfit and had no confidence. I was diagnosed with an under active thyroid in 2020 and I was post menopausal, which didn’t help. I’d tried other diets, but nothing worked and I thought that this was just my lot in life. The invisible woman.
Then I came across Alex from TSD on facebook and I liked the logic of what he was saying. I had reservations as after all, I’d tried to lose weight before but I decided to commit and I could hardly believe it when the weight started to shift! I did everything that was recommended which included following the eating plan, upping my step count, going to the gym to work with weights, plus educating myself in the psychology of self improvement. I listened to the weekly live sessions for motivation, but just losing the weight was great motivation to keep going.
Since joining, the team of experts has grown exponentially and every one of the team is so approachable and supportive. My personal Peter is fantastic and always ready to give structured advice when I’ve needed it. And the community of people who are on their own weight loss journey is amazing. They offer advice and support to anyone who is struggling and they congratulate you when you’re doing well. It’s such a fantastic and life changing experience that I can’t see me ever returning to my previous poor habits. For anyone wondering whether to join or not, I would say, think of your health and your future. If you do nothing, you will stay as you are or even get worse. If you commit to TSD, you will amaze yourself at how all embracing the love and support of the team is and you will learn so much about yourself. Your life will be so much better when you feel good about your weight and how much more energy you have. Some of the achievements of other clients are frankly jaw dropping! Without health, we have nothing so I would recommend you give TSD a chance. It’s probably the best investment you will ever make!

My personal journey
Well I'm in week 9 still early days in my journey. I've lost nearly 9 kg . 'm stronger, more agile and happier. The support available is brilliant from your personal coach mine is Emma 😁 the multidisciplinary team who are always available to hold your hand through good and bad times. Contact with other members of the group the inner circle who are always available to give encouragement and advice. Love the personal approach , your plan is yours tailored for you and your needs. It's a journey not a race and I'm embracing it.

Holistic multidisciplinary approach to weight loss and improved health
Since the birth of my 2 children in my 30s I have "watched my weight" go up gradually. I lost weight with other weight loss groups but it always bounced back. Now 71, I have had torn meniscus repairs to both knees, and my weight contributed. My only sister died of cancer age 72, and her husband a year later with a heart attack secondary to diabetes. I have 4 young grand children 18 months to 7 and want to be an active part of their lives. Time to act, Alex and TSD popped up on FB and I took the plunge. Take time for health or make time for illness resonated with me.
Initially I felt panicked and overwhelmed, what had I done?
But with the support of my coach Jock, Alex on FB lives and the Inner circle FB community calmed down, and engaged with this amazing scientific evidence based holistic program. Meal plans and weight loss are but a part, but for me the psychology and Mindset of eating behaviours and the Resistance training to increase muscle mass, strength and stamina are the cornerstone of sustainable change.
I have learnt to identify and be aware of the triggers to my poor eating behaviours, and have strategies to distract me and adopt better habits. Keeping a daily journal helps me enormously to set and reflect on my goals, and my wins small or large, and to learn from any setbacks.
I have lost 3 kg and over 20cm, and become a more active morning person. I have invested in myself and my future, and need to put myself first to do this and be there for my family.
This is a journey not a sprint and is hard work but is so worth it. No regrets.

When I saw an offer of “FREE help and…
When I saw an offer of “FREE help and guidance to lose weight” I was a bit sceptical as, in the past, I have seen a variety of things offered “free” only to find that, at the end of the spiel/quiz, there are fees to pay before you get the product - it’s only the ”build-up spiel or quiz” that is free!
I felt a bit apprehensive - however I took the plunge and am very glad that I did!
Alex, sports dietitian, spent quite some time chatting and asking me questions about my health and lifestyle, and the ‘whys & hopes’ I have for losing weight.
When we had chatted for a while Alex told me what the cost of the course would be and all the benefits that were included, I felt a bit let down and explained that as I am retired and on a low income, I was really sorry but I couldn’t afford it.
Alex promptly said that they would be quite happy to send me the course absolutely FREE! Needless to say, I was struck dumb for the moment! When I recovered I asked “Are you serious? The whole package free?” and - long story short - true to his word, I have indeed received The Whole Package ‘free’! - all the advice and support videos, menu plans, exercise and guidance plans, recipes, . . . you name it, I got it!
I am so grateful to Alex for genuine care, kindness, encouragement and help, very, very much appreciated.
I am looking forward to my weight loss/fitness journey, with any follow-up support and encouragement I might need from Alex and the team - which offer I have no doubt at all, will be forthcoming.

I had put it down to age
I've been working with Alex & the TSD team for 3 months after coming across his promos on Facebook. I had tried other weight loss approaches but hadn't been able to make any long lasting or sustainable changes that not only I could stick to but also enjoy.
As soon as I started, I was assigned my coach Jamie who is a source of so much information. He's very calm, knowledgeable and nothing is too much trouble. Jamie put together my personal eating plans taking into account what I like & don't. He also put together exercise programs for me again based on my preferences. I have a limited exercise time window so they are all about getting the biggest bang for my buck in that short time. I also like variety so keep asking for more workouts so I don't get bored.
A big change for me is mindset where I am learning its not just about 'knowing' something - its 'feeling' it. Jamie messages daily to check in, to see what he can help with & offer suggestions if for example I'm going on a night out or weekend away & don't want to blow all the good work I've done so far.
A huge plus for me is accountability & Jamie certainly does that. We set goals and he gives good ideas and tips so I can feel they are achievable.
I wasn't hugely overweight when I started and only really wanted to lose around 1.5 stones. So far I have lost 1 stone & dropped a dress size. I'm actually 'feeling' lighter now. I'd honestly never go back to pre-TSD days.

I am impressed so far with help and…
I am impressed so far with help and guidance . I am just starting on the program but after reading all and have for years tried to loose weight and sustain it! this seems to be perfect as I just want a life style and not a diet as such ! I joined their free community ! will come back here for an update . But it is the first deep program I have seen and previous to it all I had a very long text deep conversation with Alex . What was wonderful is that they offered me this free .

An addition to my previous review
An addition to my previous review, following the reply from Alex Neilan and his team.
Firstly, I don't doubt that the programme has helped women lose weight.
I was being honest when I described my feelings of immediate regret after the "coaching call" because I had not expected it to suddenly turn into a sales call, and yes, I did feel confused and definitely felt under pressure.
I tried to text Pippa immediately afterwards to explain that I felt desperate, that I had plunged my husband and myself into serious debt without having fully understood what was happening until it was too late, and pleading for the 'contract' to be unwound, but it just came up that my message could not be delivered as that number did not accept messages.
I was in a terrible state, and was desperate for help.
After contacting Trading Standards, I was advised not to enter into conversation with anyone from TSD by phone, and to only correspond in writing, which is why I didn't answer the call from Pippa. I didn't send my weekly reports either, because I was so upset and didn't want to continue. I cannot over emphasise how much stress and worry this situation has caused me and my husband.
I am immensely grateful to Trading Standards for helping me to receive a refund for the EP programme, as I have now been able to clear most of the debt, although I am still repaying the transfer fees and interest charges incurred by the credit card company for the transactions.
Unfortunately, the way the situation unfolded on April 22nd has considerably exacerbated my anxiety issues, which are worse now than they have been in a very long time.
It's clear to me from reading the other one star reviews that I am not alone in questioning the methods used to 'persuade' women to sign. It's such a shame, because until that call, I genuinely trusted TSD.
I only posted my experience to forewarn other women who were expecting a "coaching call" that it could be used as a gateway to a sales call, so that they could be prepared for that possibility, and hopefully take the time to fully consider the cost implications before choosing whether or not to sign.
I was not aware of what a scholarship was when Alex prompted us all to ask for one in the comments during a 'Facebook live' session. I just commented, along with many other women. I didn't appreciate that it was a discount on a future programme costing several thousand pounds. I wasn't even aware that there was another programme. I thought I'd paid for it all with my initial £2,000.
In my experience, being persuaded to "put myself first" caused me nothing but trouble, upset, guilt and worry.
However, for those of you who are comfortable and happy with the programme, I wish you only the best.
