Deliciously Guilt Free is a small, family-run British chocolate maker on a mission to prove that giving up sugar should never mean giving up great chocolate. We make artisan, no added sugar chocolate for people who love chocolate but want less sugar in their lives. Whether you’re living with diabetes, following a keto or low-carb lifestyle, or simply trying to cut down on sugar, we believe you still deserve seriously delicious chocolate. And we mean proper chocolate. We use high-quality cacao, real cocoa butter and carefully chosen ingredients to create rich, smooth chocolate without adding sugar or using palm oil. Our chocolate is made in small batches, stone-ground for days and carefully tempered by our team before making its way to you. Deliciously Guilt Free started in our family kitchen when founder Dan began creating low-carb treats for his wife during her pregnancy after she developed gestational diabetes. What began as one husband trying to make something delicious for his wife has grown into a family business serving thousands of chocolate lovers across the UK. We’re still small. We’re still learning. And we still care enormously. Every day, our little team strives to make the very best chocolate we possibly can… for you.

There's something very reassuring about reading, "I've just re-ordered." 😊
I'm so pleased you've found a chocolate you can enjoy as someone living with diabetes. That was the whole reason this business began, so reviews like yours really do mean a lot.
Thank you for coming back for a second order, Mrs Bignall. I really appreciate your support, and I hope you enjoy every bar.

Top quality chocolate and service
Top quality chocolate that tastes 100 times better than the super sweet, sugar laden, mainstream “candy bars” offered by much of the confectionery industry.
Excellent service by a company who not only cares about ingredient quality and product integrity but also about the customer.

Philip, you've absolutely made my day with this one.
From the very beginning, I wanted to make chocolate that tasted like... well... chocolate. Not something where sugar does all the heavy lifting. So hearing you talk about the flavour, the quality of the ingredients and the care we put into making it means a great deal.
Thank you as well for your kind words about our customer service. We genuinely do care about every order that leaves here, and it's lovely when that comes across.
I really appreciate you taking the time to write this, Philip. Thank you for your support.

Dietary Needs Chocolate!
Dan is exceptionally friendly as a business owner and truly cares about the satisfaction of his customers. This is especially important and valued when ordering from an independent family ran business!
Onto the product:
I find that the chocolate really scratches the itch for something chocolately and decadent that feels like its worth the treat (I personally like to dip mine in tea, because you just can't beat warm, half melted chocolate). And you can tell with how it responds that it is high quality chocolate.
Now the elephant in the room that some people mention is: "It doesn't taste like regular chocolate" ...
My brothers and sisters in Kryta, this is chocolate for diabetics and those following a keto diet. There is no added sugar. This is why it is ideal. You only need to worry about and track the natural sugars and carbohydrates on your favourite food logging app (and the fat/calories if you're tracking for other needs) It's got all the parts of chocolate taste that still make it a lovely treat, but if youre still eating other high sugar or ultra carb heavy processed foods: it will not taste how you expect. I hate to be another pretentious person telling you your business by saying "Your taste buds will change if you cut out sugar!" But I think they might be onto something.
Bottom line, I absolutely love this chocolate, I'd never go back. It suits *my specific dietary needs* (diabetes management, so I can avoid injecting at all costs) and still feels like I am eating like a normal person. I can't recommend it enough for people who are serious about their dietary needs balancing their human cravings. A little goes a long way when following a diet plan, so the price is well worth it for how long a bar will last me.
My personal recommendation: Chocolate Orange and the dark chocolate bar. They taste the closest to what you might expect in a shop, and DGF absolutely will have me coming back every pay check to get my sweet fix for the month.

Well... where do I even start, Bevi? 😊
Firstly, thank you for taking the time to write such an incredibly thoughtful review. I genuinely appreciate it.
I had a good laugh at "My brothers and sisters in Kryta"... and I have to say, your explanation about expectations is spot on. If someone is used to very sweet, sugar-filled chocolate, ours can be a surprise at first. But once people cut back on sugar, it's amazing how their taste buds begin to appreciate the cocoa itself rather than just the sweetness.
I also loved your description of dipping the chocolate in tea. I've never actually tried that... although I suspect I'll be giving it a go now!
What really means the most to me, though, is reading that our chocolate helps you manage your diabetes while still feeling like you're enjoying a proper treat. That's exactly why I started this business after my wife developed gestational diabetes during pregnancy. If we can help people enjoy chocolate without feeling they're missing out, then we're doing what we set out to do.
And thank you for mentioning the customer service too. We're a small family business, so every order and every review genuinely matters to us.
I hope the Chocolate Orange and Dark Chocolate continue to earn a place in your basket every payday... and I promise we'll keep making them to the highest standard we can.
Thank you again, Bevi. This was a real pleasure to read.

It's always a nice feeling when someone takes a chance on an independent family business... so thank you for doing exactly that.
Everything we make is about proving you don't need loads of sugar or palm oil to create a proper bar of chocolate. It takes longer, costs more and is definitely the harder route, but reviews like yours remind me why it's worth it.
I really appreciate you taking the time to support us and leave a review, Edwin. I hope this is the first of many bars!

There's something really satisfying about hearing that our chocolate tastes great. After all, that's always been the goal... to make proper chocolate first, that just happens to have no added sugar.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. It really does mean a lot to a small family business like ours.
Thanks again, Michael.

Love this company
Love this company.
I've had a chocolate subscription with Dan and co for over 5 years now.
I can email directly and ask for a different flavour, if available, and they sort it out for me. I don't have to mess with my account and try to work out which combo I want or anything.
Seems expensive initially, but when you consider the difference in ingredient quality, it's worth every penny.
I prefer DGF chocolate to mainstream brands now, as it actually tastes of cocoa and cream, rather than sugar with a hint of chocolate.

Five years... wow. Thank you, Gemma.
It's customers like you who have helped us grow from a tiny family business into what we are today, and I never take that support for granted.
I also smiled when you mentioned emailing us to swap flavours. We'd always rather spend a couple of minutes helping than have you wrestling with your account!
And thank you for recognising the difference in the ingredients. We could certainly make a cheaper chocolate, but it wouldn't be our chocolate. Proper cocoa butter, quality ingredients and no added sugar have always been non-negotiable.
I really appreciate your loyalty over the years, Gemma. Here's to many more deliveries... and hopefully plenty of your favourite flavours!

Reading this was a real encouragement... thank you, Andy.
One thing I've always wanted is for people to open a bar and think, "This is proper chocolate." Quality ingredients, proper cocoa butter and no palm oil have been non negotiables from the very beginning, so hearing that come across in the finished product is a huge compliment.
I'm also really pleased you mentioned the personal touches. As we've grown, that's something I've never wanted to lose. I still want every customer to feel like they're buying from a small family business that genuinely cares.
Thank you for your recommendation, Andy... and thank you for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful review.

Quality over quantity
This chocolate is amazing. Normally I eat generic chocolate brands, and even after eating a whole bar I still don't feel my chocolate craving has been satisfied.
I ate two squares of this chocolate, and it is so full of chocolaty flavour. I am blown away by how nice it tastes and I really feel like I'm having a proper treat.
I gave my husband some to try (he is a tough critic) and he said I would never eat any other chocolate if I could just eat this and asked me to buy more. Second order placed.
It's not cheap but most of the time you get what you pay for. You certainly do with this chocolate 😀

I think your review title sums it up perfectly, Lucy... quality over quantity. 😊
One of the biggest differences people notice is exactly what you've described. Rather than eating a whole bar and still wanting more, a couple of squares can be enough because the flavour lingers and actually satisfies those chocolate cravings.
I also loved your husband's verdict! If a self confessed tough critic is asking you to buy more, I'll definitely take that as a win. 😄
And seeing "second order placed" tucked into the review was the icing on the cake... or perhaps the cocoa butter on the chocolate!
Thank you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review, Lucy. I really appreciate your support.

A Great Find
As a diabetic, I have had limited options in the past (although there are more choices now). DGF's chocolate bars are a great find. I enjoyed the pack of four but felt the orange could have had a bit more flavour. We especially like the dark chocolate. I have ordered again.

I was especially happy to read that the Dark Chocolate was a winner... it has a loyal following and I think it's rather underrated! 😄
And the best part of your review? "I have ordered again." That's a wonderful compliment.

Thank you for noticing the ingredients too. From day one, I've believed that great chocolate starts with great ingredients... proper cocoa butter, no palm oil and no added sugar, rather than taking shortcuts.
The best part is exactly what you said... being able to enjoy a proper chocolate treat without worrying about all the sugar.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review, Alison. I really appreciate your support.

Satisfied craving, slightly small
I ordered this in the hope it would satisfy my craving for chocolate while trying to reduce my sweet treats on a lower carb diet. The bar was much smaller than I thought when it arrived. I ordered the milk chocolate bar. I understand this is an independent small business but I found the price to be quite expensive for what you get.
The taste was hardly sweet at all. The texture was lovely and it is very creamy. You only need a couple of pieces to feel satisfied which is great.
Overall it is ok and lovely quality but sadly I won't be buying again.

Thank you for giving us a try and for taking the time to leave such an honest review.
I'm really pleased you enjoyed the texture and creaminess of the chocolate, and that you found a couple of squares were enough to satisfy you. That's something I hear quite often from customers.
I completely understand your comments about the sweetness too. We deliberately make our low carb, no added sugar chocolate very differently from most mainstream chocolate, so if you're used to sweeter chocolate it can come as a surprise.
As for the price... I completely appreciate that too. We use quality ingredients, proper cocoa butter and make every batch by hand here in the UK, so unfortunately we can never compete with supermarket prices.
I'm sorry we weren't quite the right fit for you this time, but I genuinely appreciate you giving us a go and wish you all the very best.

Amazing chocolate, tried the 4 chocolate box set and its great.

"A diabetic's dream"... I don't think I could ask for a better headline than that! 😊
I'm so pleased you're enjoying the chocolate, Colin.
Back in 2015, when my wife was diagnosed with gestational diabetes, I wanted to create a low carb, no added sugar chocolate that people would choose because it tasted great, not simply because it was the healthier option.
And you've chosen the Dark Chocolate as your favourite... excellent choice! It doesn't always get as much attention as the Orange Chocolate, but it's one I'm particularly proud of.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review, Colin... and thank you for your support.
