This review is a statement of fact regarding my experience with this company and how it has affected my life.

I was very much looking forward to finally speaking to people who say they understand ADHD. From other reviews, I thought “this is the place where I can unmask and be seen, heard and understood”. I had been building up to the assessment and felt positive and hopeful. I was told by their staff that the assessment is “life changing”. Unfortunately I’ve been left traumatised and feeling hopeless after facing disgusting and shocking treatment as a vulnerable individual. I feel this is life changing in a negative way, as getting the assessment is a once in a lifetime thing that should be handled with care. It’s been ruined now.

It’s 5th February 2026 as I write this, I was meant to have an assessment date of 9th January 2026. I made the booking with them on 28th November 2025 because I needed the assessment report for a PIP claim (tribunal stage) that’s been ongoing for 2 years. There is around £15k back pay at stake plus daily living payments which I really need. This is the only reason I booked my assessment as I have an irregular heartbeat so can’t take the ADHD meds anyway. They had multiple written and verbal reinforcements of my circumstances and deadlines which they failed to record.

Negligence: My 9th January appointment was cancelled as their doctor was sick apparently. They also tried to re-schedule me several times with a male doctor at 9am despite being told I needed a female and afternoon appointment. Finally after months I got an assessment scheduled for 7th February 2026. I advised I would pay the remaining £1150 on my payday. They wrote back saying I had to pay by 9am on my payday despite being told I don’t function until the afternoons. I didn’t even see the email.

On the day I said I would pay, I paid in the evening due to having a migraine that day, only to receive an email the next morning to say they cancelled my appointment “as per previous communications”. I found this very blunt and shocking. I called them and was passed through 3 individuals, eventually speaking to a team leader who said they gave my appointment away because I didn’t pay by 9am and it was not “timely”. Even though this team leader said they get a few cancellations a day, they put me in with another male doctor in 7 weeks time - 20th March 2026 which is useless to me. So they took payment for a cancelled appointment and did not consult me on the new time. Also again, they put me in with a male despite being told multiple times I needed a female due to domestic violence history.

This is a major setback for me. They have actually caused me trauma. I’m 39 and this is a once in a life time, huge emotional moment for me getting assessed which they have ruined. I was looking forward to finally being understood but they’ve treated me like dirt and are incompetent. They’ve also jeopardised my tribunal claim as the date is set by court, I can’t change it, and I don’t have my evidence I need now. After me waiting a full month on them to reschedule as their staff member was sick! They have shown me such callous disgusting treatment because I did not make a payment at 9am but made it the same day like I told them I would.

After I complained they discharged me citing “zero tolerance” policy after I communicated my valid concerns and raised a formal complaint. I was very distressed as I need an assessment so urgently but I received no care or empathy. They have wasted months of my time, and I feel misled as this is not what they advertise on their website. There are videos stating they know their clients are in distress and their core values include empathy. They also state you’ll get an assessment in a few weeks. I did not expect them to remove me from their service because I was disappointed and upset by their actions. They also are holding my £1345 (I paid them a £200 deposit plus £1145 and they said they processed the full refund but didn’t).

I’m sick to my stomach. I believe this company do not care about patients, acting in ways that are unsupportive to patient needs, callous, negligent and in breach of multiple practice standards.

Avoid is my advice, I’ve spoken to two other firms since and although I’m having trouble getting booked in now at such short notice, I’ve received 100 times more professionalism and respect. I feel I’ve been naive and got caught up in an overloaded sales funnel of conveyor belt appointments.

I’m reporting them to their Regulator and continuing my formal complaint. They have taken full payment with no service or patient care and although they say they are refunding, I’ve not yet received it and it’s blocking me booking in elsewhere urgently. The reason I came to them was because I needed an urgent appointment in the first place! It’s just unbelievable and devastating.

The service we have received from diverse diagnostics has been amazing. The process from first Communicaton to diagnosis to medication has very helpful, professional and prompt. Every member of staff we have come into contact with have friendly and professional. Would highly recommend them

So far the communication with Diverse Diagnostics has been extremely helpful. I’m currently going through diagnosis for adhd before I start University and my experience so far has been brilliant.

She is understanding, empathetic and really does take every case / circumstances into consideration.
During my time being under care at diverse Diagnostics i have never faulted Sophies customer service and niche understanding of the particulars of adhd...she really gets it!

I'll provide an entirely honest review from my experience to date. Having received a referral from my GP to be assessed for ADHD, the waiting time was likely to be 2 years at least. 3 years so far, however. I decided to pursue a private consultation, as the symptoms I've always experienced were making my busy job, very challenging.

The process from initial contact onwards was very quick and comprehensive. The assessment itself was quite an unusual experience. I felt the doctor carrying it out came across as slightly impersonal and the format of the assessment was tricky, as he would frequently stop me mid sentence to repeat, or go deeper into a previous statement. I suspect this was by design, as it definitely highlighted some of the inattentive symptoms. So it was very likely an expertly crafted process.

There was a 6 week turnaround before receiving a diagnosis. Although, I was implied at the end of the assessment that I would be diagnosed with ADHD, moreso on the inattentive end.

The report was extremely comprehensive and I was surprised to see how much detail and content from the assessment was described in the report.

Following this, I arranged a medication initiation appointment and was recommended a slow release stimulant.

Initially there was a monthly check in, where an update was given, Including details around BP , H/W and HR. This became three monthly and is now 6 monthly.

I met with more than one consultant, but began to request Lorraine Campbell, as she was clearly, very engaged with upto date research, and showed genuine compassion on the consults.

Regarding the medication, I can honestly say it was a transformative experience. I was very quickly able to cooperative with my brain, and my ability to self reflect and understand how I operate and who my unmasked self was, was quite profound. I attended separate counselling during the initial stages, as I was hesitant to rely purely on medication, and was very eager to address the challenges from all angles.

Over a year since being initially prescribed medication, I can genuinely say that I am excelling in my career and my mental health is better than it has been. In the first few weeks I felt concerned that there were changes to my personality, however upon deep reflection, I recognise that I'm able to be myself authentically whilst mitigating difficulties with focus, stress and other issues more successfully.

I would suggest that anyone who truly presents symptoms of ADHD should initially learn much more about neurodivergence then consider seeking support.

Unfortunately, it is an expensive process, and requires ongoing costs for medication and consultations. Which was initially between 350-400£ monthly but is now around 150£. I have had difficulty finding NHS shared care, however, I am still on the waiting list, so if I receive another diagnosis through NHS then treatment will then be managed by NHS. Fortunately, it has been largely affordable for me, and the benefits have significantly outweighed the issue of cost.

To wrap up, my experience has been very positive and my only regret, was not recognising the issues I faced earlier, and failing to advocate more effectively for myself in the past.

I would urge people considering this, to learn as much about ADHD as possible beforehand. And to try and identify what areas of life are posing difficulties which may be attributes to undiagnosed neurodivergence.

My meetings were all with Pete Downer and he was brilliant; he was kind and helpful throughout the whole process and explained everything in clear detail, making sure I understood what was happening and what the goal was at every step.
There were also times when I had to email Diverse Diagnostics directly and the responses were always prompt, helpful and friendly.

I really question the legitimacy of the reviews to be perfectly honest!
The 1* reviews all seem to have the same experience and therefore I find it difficult to believe the huge difference between them. 1* & 5* reviews

Basically, you do get the service you pay for (eventually) but that and no more & at a premium!

It all feels a bit unethical as you know
essentially it’s a license to print money
for the company that is filling a whole in the market that the nhs can’t afford, Once you’ve paid all the exuberant fees your then held to ransom as each month it’s a further £55 per prescription £10 private delivery charge then on top of this you then pay the pharmacy there price for the actual medication. In my case I’m £98 per month. and you still have to pay for the medication after that!
Then once you start meds and pay for the consultation to determine what medication you’re going on, you then pay £190 for each medication review. You’re on and off that Zoom call in minutes! In my case to be told I’ll be staying at the same level for another while …
I assume most companies are the same but I guess they could try more to make you feel less like a cash cow!
Expect to wait on hold for long periods when calling , but of a nightmare to get hold of an actual person, then there’s the “Upto 48hr wait for reply’s to emails” .

Cannot recommend the company highly enough. Everyone I’ve dealt with from beginning to end has been so kind and caring. It has really made a difficult and challenging process so much easier. All the staff really care and take their time to explain things and their response times are so quick also. 5 star service and just so grateful. Thanks you.
