The product is great, however non existent post customer service once your money has been taken, please forget you ever dealt with them.

This review is replacing the original one, that I wrote on the 22/02/2022.

It wasn't a good start, lots and lots of problems/mistakes.
In all fairness, Ecotrus put everything right, it just made the project longer.
We was compensated with money knocked of the bill.
Now nearly 3 years later.
We decided that we had made a mistake, that we didn't have a velux window fitted in the new bathroom. With the loft dormer being a steel construction, I didn't want to get any builder. So I contacted EcoTrus. Vanessa and Michelle were very professional, helpful and very efficient. From start to finish, it took 2 days. Framing out the steel, and putting the window in.
Every step of the way, sheets were put all over the floor, shoes were taken off, and they even hovered up before they went.
Every company/ trade persons make mistakes. It's how they put the mistakes right, that sets them apart.

I think maybe EcoTrus has learnt from it's mistakes/problems and is going in the right direction, to be the only goto company for loft conversions.

We recently completed our loft conversion with ecoTrus, and we couldn’t be happier with the results! From start to finish, their team was professional, efficient, and genuinely cared about our vision. The whole process was seamless—ecoTrus kept us updated at every step, and the project was completed on time and within budget. The quality of their work speaks for itself; the new loft space is not only beautifully designed but also feels incredibly solid and secure thanks to their innovative light gauge steel system.

Our goal was to make better use of our loft space and having looked at various different ways of doing this we chose to look at ecoTrus and the accredited installer DDS Construction Ltd.

Dan from DDS Construction Ltd from the outset was very helpful and visited us and took time to discuss the options we could take with our project. One thing that really stood out was his knowledge and ideas around how we could maximise our space and came up with an idea we hadn’t thought of in a double dormer design.

Once we agreed to proceed ecoTrus then got to work on the floor plans from our ideas and once the project kicked off things moved at pace with the ecoTrus team very attentive to the work and made sure we were fully up to date with the next stages. The steel delivery from ecoTrus then landed on site within a few weeks of order allowing Dan and his team to strip the roof and erect the steel - all done within a couple of days.

Over the next few weeks the outside was sealed and the internals were worked on with thanks to the hard work of Dan and his team. We are at the tail end of the project and very pleased with what we have and look forward to enjoying our new space!

Building our Ecotrus structure with the guidance of Craig was a smooth process; we've been very pleased with the quick and efficient build. The office staff have been very friendly and helpful every step of the way with any queries; I would highly recommend them.

Wonderful and quick experience from quote to installation
I had my dormer installed this month 24th September 2024 and from the time I requested for a quote, through measurement and design it was a quick and wonderful experience. I am incredibly grateful to Craige who shows a lot of understanding and worked hard to make the project a success. Initially, I thought George, Craig and others owns the company, and I had to ask them about the owner. Ecotrus!! You have a wonderful and committed team, please keep this team together for more success of a wonderful concept in loft conversion.

Fantastic experience from start to finish. I had a Dormer installed early this year and Ecotrus couldn't have made it easier for me. From the sales staff making the system and install easy to understand to having a quick turn around from the design team for my drawings I couldn't recommend more. I had always wanted a dormer on the rear of my property and Ecotrus made it quick and simple.

We have just completed a dormer self build loft conversion with this system. From start to finish it took 4 days and we are over the moon with the system and the end result. We were lucky enough to have Craig on site whilst we did the install and we can not thank him enough for everything he did. Craig is a credit to the team. We would definitely recommend this system to others. Big thank you to the team!

The company are brilliant, they did everything they said they would do. Everything arrived as planned and the work took less than a week to complete with the technical help from them with our own builders. We are so pleased on the end result and would recommend them to anyone wanting to convert a loft space.

Firstly, I would like to start with a massive thank you to the outstanding Craig who worked every hour under the Sun to get our construction underway and built within the timeframe scheduled. Craig was truly amazing He is a real asset to Ecotrus and we was truly lucky to have him attend our property.

A complete design solution for loft conversions. I have recently just completed a completed a new dormer loft conversion structure in 4 days.
1, No need for a structural engineer and the associated costs with the engineer and the difficult and heavy RSJ requirements.
2, Fast construction with all ellements prefabricated off site and delivered in one delivery. Which speeds site install but importantly reduces labour costs.
3, The staff provided me with a friendly but professional service.

Would recommend to a friend, and my neighbours have asked my to do theirs for them.

We have recently done a loft conversion using Ecotrus system and are very pleased with the product. Credit to both Ecotrus and also Chris and his team (installer) for the hard work. Everyone has been very helpful at the office at Ecotrus and we would highly recommend them.

Seen eco trus online quite some years back and instantly seen the speed in which these structures can go up.

Since contacting them they have been great, from George who has been helping me all the way and carrying out the surveys on my loft.

Connor the architect who has helped me to no end with all the questions I had regarding building regs etc.

And also Craig, who came out to help install the structure with myself and my friend, between the 3 of us we had the entire structure (floor chords, rafter chords, dwarf wall, dormer and stairs) in within 5 days.

I’ve received about 3 phone calls since, re-assuring me that even though our contract is now at an end, if I need any assistance they are there to help.

Brilliant people and brilliant system.

I have just installed an Ecotrus system for my loft conversion at home. I have found the team easy to deal with from when my architect made the initial enquiry right through to delivery.

I went with the self install option as it fitted within our budget and it came with technical support for the week of the installation. I am a ground worker by trade but if you are practically minded with a bit of guidence it’s not overly complicated.

I was impressed that from first tile removed from the roof to weathered back in was only 5 days meaning me and my family could remain in our home.

No party wall agreement needed
No huge steels
Only minor ceiling damage in upstairs rooms

Overall I would happily recommend Ecotrus to others

Our experience with ecoTrus was exceptional from start to finish.

George and Oliver were incredibly helpful, coming down to see the site to measure up, and then guiding us through a unique design process to ensure our build was perfect.

The installation took just 3 days, transforming a pile of promptly delivered steel into the full structure of our loft conversion with front and rear dormers. Craig, part of the ecoTrus team, who travelled from Barnsley, provided outstanding on-site support. Our builder, Richard of Raw Services from Upminster (a certified ecoTrus partner), collaborated seamlessly with the ecoTrus team making this build impressively fast, yet, safe.

Local building control approved everything, and we’ve received numerous inquiries from neighbours about this innovative system!

Our builder recommended Ecotrus. Initial contact was very positive, great communication, made the effort to provide a timely quote, response good over email and phone calls. Quick turn around to start work once contract agreed. Ecotrus' installers were punctual, professional and knowledgeable in their trade. We would highly recommend Craig and Kyle and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

It would have been more time efficient for us, the client and Ecotrus to have the Project manager arrive on first day and last day to check works etc. It could have eliminated going the extra week. However, the final work was outstanding and we are very happy with the final outcome and love our new space.

Would definitely recommend and use again

I’ve been following Ecotrus since I saw a loft conversion using their system on social media. It seemed to good to be true that there was a way of making much needed extra space in my house, in a small time frame with minimal mess/damage to property and for the prices being quoted.

I took the plunge and gave Ecotrus my details on-line. I received a call the next day from one of their representatives who was polite, knowledgeable about the product and no way pushy. A site visit was arranged to see what was achievable at my property.

Within a few days George came to my property for a site visit . We discussed options and I decided that a duo-pitch system would be the best way forward in my situation. What I liked again was that he knew his product and there was no up-sell to try to make me buy something I didn’t need.

George took some initial measurements and within a day 2 quotes were offered. One for a team to come and fit the system and one for myself under guidance from an Ecotruss expert.

I was quite apprehensive about the idea of fitting the system myself but the cost saving and reassurance from George put my mind at ease . He said that if I’m capable on ‘the tools’ and have a couple of lads helping who were also capable then it would be more than fine.

I decided to have a go myself. I paid a deposit and dealt with Ecotrus finance team . A third of the full price was paid upfront. Both Vanessa and Michelle are a pleasure and extremely east to deal with and they were on hand to talk through any problems. My point is that I didn’t feel they took my money and ran.

Not long after Connor, the design engineer came for a site visit to take final measurements for the manufacturing of my kit. Again, he was knowledgeable, turned up on the dot and was a pleasure to deal with. I talked through some design issues and he’s always been available and returned my calls . Even now after I have nearly completed my install.

Again without having my diary to hand, timescale wise maybe a week or so after design had been agreed a second payment was made for the manufacture of my kit. Not long after this my kit was delivered and final payment was made. This is when I first met Danny and understood what Ecotrus represented as a company.

Danny was only meant to be there to make sure that the was delivered to site and it was all there. He couldn’t help himself and got stuck in helping me and my small team of lads carry the full kit over 200yds from the road to the house. My point is that he didn’t have to but he did.

The Day the build started it was Persisting down with rain. Danny the technical advisor turned up on time. His remit is to give technical advice on site. He didn’t just do that. He got stuck in. I had a bit of bad luck with some of my lads not turning up and bad weather. Basically if this would have been a traditional conversion and I didn’t have Danny I would have become unstuck quite easily. My point is that the product and it only needing 3 rows of slates removing meant that it could be installed in the rain. Also that the Ecotrus representative got stuck in when they didn’t have to. Very impressed. 5 days were given with the on-site support and if wasn’t for the bad weather and unexpected van breakage I’m 100 percent sure we could have had it done in 3. If you are going to do it yourself make sure you have at least 3 competent labourers on site.

Just to give anyone reading this a clue about my background. I’m a competent Diy’er and have worked in various roles on the railway. I was unsure about doing it myself. However, I’m so glad I did. I have saved a ruck of money and got a sense of accomplishment. I’ve probably added 50k in value to my house as well.

In summary, I highly recommend Ecotrus as a product. More than that I recommend them as a team of people. There aren’t many companies who offer the level of support they have. It sets them apart.

Now for all the plaudits I have given in this review I do have one slight criticism. I’m a bit sad and love putting together flat pack furniture for family. I feel I wouldn’t have had to rely on the technical advisor as much if there was some kind of instruction manual like you get with Ikea furniture to review before install. Hopefully Ecotrus wont take this the wrong way, the beauty of the product is in its simplicity. It genuinely is like an Ikea flat back loft conversion!

I’ve really enjoyed my experience with Ecotrus and installing the Duo-pitch. I now have a massive space to hide from the wife and kids!

Very Disappointed with This company Management or should I say the lack of. The Smart Loft restructure was to take 3-5 Days Started work in March took over 3 weeks still not signed off by Building Reg. to date for being unsafe
Tried to contact them to have the space made safe No response to date. 24/06/23 The issues have now been resolved and the project sign off , as now being safe, by the Building development Dept. Pleased.

This company is an absolute joke! They will take your money then completely blank you. Mew had a lift conversion done through EcoTrus last year and still waiting for it to be signed off by building control. They won’t pick up the phone or reply to the countless emails sent. Next stop is Trading Standards. Utterly fred up with these cowboys.
