Cold calling scam
Cold calling scam. Very pushy sales person insisting you need a “ voltage check on your PV installation” . Phoned back twice and was disingenuous and over the top. Can’t believe a company with good reviews on Trustpilot is seemingly so dishonest. BEWARE!

Pushy man called me a couple of minutes ago claiming to be from Efficient Homes. How did he get my telephone number? How did he get other information? I loathe cold calls like this. Pack it in.
Cold callers trying to get you to agree…
Cold callers trying to get you to agree to a check on solar panels. Once you are pushed into it they will probably tell you that your solar panels need work and it will cost you thousands. It is now illegal to aquire phone numbers to cold call and these pushy young men should be ashamed of charming old ladies into appointments they do not need. Edit to add, they phoned me the day after I left this review saying it is false and I should delete it. Look at the Who Called Me website, they have over 1330 look ups and are recorded on there as phone spam activity. My review stands.
Smart Battery System
After having many cold calls from Solar energy companies the call from Efficient Homes sounded genuine so we booked an appointment and when Tony came he did a thorough check of the system, as it was 10 years old it was helpful to note that it was performing 100%. Then he went onto the Smart Battery System, it sounded very attractive but knowing how expensive previous quotes from other companies were we were skeptical but when it came to price we were pleasantly surprised and went ahead. The system is working well and should save us some money.

They are a nice firm to deal with
They are a nice firm to deal with. I have been of two minds whether to upgrade to add batteries (my age), but finally decided to do so. The fitting team were great. The only gripe I have is that I discussed with the original surveyor where I would like to fit them, and we were actually at the site at the time. In the event there was a physical problem with that site and they had to be positioned on an outside wall instead. If I had known this in advance it may well have tipped me towards not having them fitted. Efficient homes need to ensure that their surveyors are capable of assessing such problems.

My best experience with the solar industry.
Having had less than satisfactory experiences from cold call solar energy Companies reviewing and asessing my solar installation, it was a very pleasant surprise to find that Efficient Homes was not another of them, they were professional at all stages and Keiran on the day of assessment, was polite, knowledgeable and answered all of my questions - I learned more about my system on that day than on any previous visits from others. To top that, he neither tried to sell me any addons or a new inverter.
I recommend this Company.

Beautiful Snowdonia
We had our batteries installed about 3 months ago, and I have not posted anything here as I was hoping it would be sorted out by now. When almost £7000 is paid to a company, one expects a fairly good standard of expertise. I contacted the company three times with a concern hoping they would take me seriously. It wasn't until the last event that a young man looked into my concerns. Now that they know there is a fault it is still taking them weeks to sort it out. In the meantime the product that we paid a lot of money for is unfit for purpose. There did not seem to be any aftercare at all.
Second Time Round
We had excellent service twelve months ago from Efficient Homes when they fitted our first solar battery. Last week they installed our second battery. Great communication and excellent workmanship both times. Highly recommended.

Exemplary Service & Installation
I seldom respond to cold calls but, as there was nothing to lose by having a free Solar PV Installation performance check - and my due diligence checked out - I went ahead. Ashley, very professional, certified the installation and I followed this up by enquiring about a battery, having researched the benefits beforehand. Not a hard sell in sight but a measured explanation of my potential savings carefully worked out. The installation team of Jay and Buddy were exemplary. They worked hard, efficiently, and were very personable. For a relatively young company, Jesse, the owner, has got it just about right. Great customer focus and swift installation from order with a great installation team behind him. With every installation carried out by Efficient Homes they include a free survey around 90 days from the installaiton date. It's abundantly clear that Jesse genuinely cares deeply about delivering exceptional customer service.

Three batteries were installed on 2nd March 2022 to complement my existing array of 17 PV panels, in order to save firstly all of the power coming from the PV panels and secondly to store power from the grid overnight on an Economy 7 meter. The batteries were installed only a week after ordering and Jay and Zac worked well and efficiently. However, they must have neglected to check the automatic switch inside the inverter which was supposed to go to battery power in the event of a powercut, because when the inevitable power cuts happened, it did not operate. I tried calling Mr Whiteway (salesman) and emailing the office but had no reply from either. I continued attempting to contact the company but they did not respond to either emails or messages for three weeks. I also wanted to get the inverter programmed to top up my batteries overnight on Economy 7 but that went haywire on switchover to Daylight Saving Time, though I was informed that this happened automatically from HQ!
Update 3rd August 2023
The inoperative “off-grid switch” has been a bone of contention for more than a year, whilst I waited for them to return and fit a separate one which was for months unobtainable. Eventually, Jay said he had fitted the “off-grid switch” though I can find no evidence of one at all. Then he informed me that “I couldn't have one because my electricity supply was peculiar” NB I've had other electricians work on my property over the years, and none of them have ever complained about my supply! For other work, I have always received a Part P Certificate as required by law, but nothing from Efficient Homes – in fact, when I asked Jay for one he looked blankly at me and then told me to contact the office. I don't think he'd ever heard of Part P. Twice, he called me mad – for wanting what was specified in my contract. A rather rude way of speaking to a paying customer, I thought.
I was informed by Jesse over the phone that EH would refund what I'd paid for the off-grid switch but this has never been received. I sent a letter of complaint on 23rd May 2023 and have had nothing but silence from that day to this. Unfortunately, I paid them in full for the installation so have no retained funds with which to pay a proper electrician to install an off-grid switch or check the electrics and issue a Part P Certificate. Obviously, I should have checked the company's membership of the MSC scheme, because they are not.

The 2 young men arrived to install my battery linked to already existing solar panels the day after ordering. All the personnel I either spoke with or met were very polite and efficient, from the initial survey to the final installation. This includes the 'Boss' who rang me to agree the next day installation. They were all very informative and happily answered all my questions

Battery Improvements
WE were contacted about a week ago and asked if we like a check of our existing solar system. Knowing that we had an out of date battery system we agreed to have an assessment of our current position.
Josh arrived approximately 24 hours later, looked at our system and did various calculations. As a result he advised us that we were not getting the return we should expect on our current batteries.
Josh gave us a quote for the removal of the old system and installation of a lithium battery which stored 3 times as much electricity. WE agreed to the change and 48 hours later we were able to see the improvements, and have noted the daily savings on our consumption from the grid. It is early days but looks like considerable savings will be made

Unwanted cold calling
This company can improve by using the TPS Register to ensure they do not cold call people who happen to have solar panel systems.
Although they claim "not to be selling anything", I strongly suspect they want to get a foot in the door, by offering a free solar panel check, and then selling an unnecessary replacement inverter, or a battery add on to your existing system.
I was phoned from number 01622 822750, and have reported them to the ICO.
Incorrectly fitted from day one and no back up!!!
This is my second review that I have written for EH, I was negative in my first review as I was receiving no replies to calls and emails about a query I had. I received a call from Jesse asking if I could remove my review, he was very pleasant, apologised that he hadn’t seen my email etc and gave me his mobile number for any further issues. The problem I had, was that the time on the App for the Economy 7 to come on to charge the batteries, had been set incorrectly by the fitters, so it had been costing me more than it should have from the outset. Whilst this wasn’t too much of an issue when I was on a cheap tariff, with rising costs it needed to be set up correctly, Jesse talked me through how to change the setting which was easy enough for me to do. I have only recently been supplied with a monitor for my smart meter from Octopus, to be able to view the daily electric cost, I contacted him again at the end of May to ask if I should be turning off the overnight E7 charging whilst the days were now so sunny, he replied that it would be advisable as free solar electric is better than the cheap night electric. The trouble is that the solar doesn’t seem to be charging the batteries at all, so I’m having to resort to charging the batteries on E7 despite the long sunny days we have been experiencing! I have messaged Jesse twice now about this and have not had a reply in over a month, very disappointing! I am recently widowed and have invested a lot of money into this system, all I want is some back up on this, if the sun is not charging the batteries then something is definitely not right, but the company don’t appear to want to know! I too was approached through a cold call and wish I’d researched and used a more local company that would be more accessible! To make things worse, I have just had an independent review done on my system and the reason the system isn’t working as it should is because only one CT clamp has ever been fitted instead of two! I now have to go to the additional expense of having a replacement battery control unit fitted to make my system work correctly, as at the moment there is no free solar power going into my batteries and never has been. This industry is very poorly regulated and unfortunately cowboys like this lot are taking advantage!
Thankfully I didn’t need to go to expense of another battery controller. The guys that did the independent review of my system eventually managed to get it working as it should, two CT clamps had been fitted but were the wrong way round, along with a few more wiring faults! I can’t praise them enough and I wish I’d found them initially instead of having to deal with the incompetents at Efficient Homes, who should rename themselves Inefficient Homes!!! These clowns have cost me dearly with their ineptitude for two years, when I should have been benefiting from free solar electricity. If they were an ethical company they would do back up visits to check the system, but this never happens - shocking!
Excellent Service
The explanation given by Kieran was clear and informative. The engineer Zac who fitted the battery etc could not have been more pleasant and hardworking. All followed up by prompt phone calls and the people turned up when they said they would. No Pembrokeshire promises here! 7 days from start to finish. WOW!
