Horrible experience with this fraudulent company! Never received my book. Told me they didn't have a tracking number, then told me the book was lost in the mail. They couldn't process my refund due to "technical difficulties." Then I never heard from them again despite continued emails and calls (no one ever answers their phone). Unbelievable!

We are another victim after ordering a book set in November 2021 for granddaughters Christmas gift of almost £70 value. Numerous emails in December and January blaming US customs / postal services for any delay, and replies that keep you hanging on in the hope the item will arrive.

GENUINE companies provide tracking numbers from dispatch, collection, courier details, custom check, transportation distribution hub, ect.

Registered complaint via PayPal who we used to make payment who state the complaint must be escalated within 22 days if not resolved when the case will be permanently closed.

Update:-
Been informed a full refund will be in our PayPal account within a few days, I won't hold my breath this will happen.

Do NOT purchase items/books from this company.

Positive news: We have finally and very luckily purchased the extremley rare & unavailable Box Set from UK Waterstones.

Ordered a book for my daughter for $60 + postage to Australia. ETA was 4 weeks. Didn’t receive anything but then got an email that I “should have received my order by now, but if not I should have it soon”. No such luck. When I contacted them for an update, I was questioned if maybe my neighbours “took” the delivery without telling me or if the local post office held it. Uhmmm, no?
Not sure how a business can have this amount of bad reviews and still operate and sell via reputable sellers such as Amazon?

My experience is similar to others on this website. I bought a book by Ergodebooks via Ebay. The book did newer arrive...by the way, till now I ordered already a lot of books online and all (!) the books arrived except for this. I wrote a email and received an answer that they need some time to make a research...after 90 days I wrote them, that I'm still waiting for the feedback. Then I get the answer: They can not help me anymore, I should contact Ebay (after 90 days, you can not get in touch with PayPal and Ebay, I can't even write a bad review..)...so and when I read all the reviews here, I think, there seems to be a system behind it....

I WOULD GIVE 0!! AFTER PLACING MY ORDER, THEY CANCELLED IT AND REFUNDED. I SEE THE BOOK IS STILL ON THEIR SITE NOW FOR DOUBLE THE PRICE!! CHEATS!! UNREAL!

I would never purchase this if i read the comment here. Simple packaging without any protective measures.They don't have their own inventory, and they order from other websites after I place the order.
And the books are in worse condition. I bought books in a "good" condition, but they ordered books in "acceptable".
Complaints are useless, their response is just shifting the responsibility.

Like many others, the book never showed up from Ergode Books (after 6 weeks). This shop seems to have a pattern of this type of deception. I was lucky that I purchased it from an "umbrella"/aggregator company on the web (Biblio) and they refunded me right away when I contacted them.

Ordered a collectors edition book, hardback. Was sent a regular paperback which would have cost £18 less on amazon and here the next day. No reply from the store. Would be 0 stars if it was an option.

Not even a one star if I could. Scam company. Ordered on line and no despatch notified at first. After a month upon enquiry updated with tracking for First Flight Global shipping. Tracking only showed attempted pick up on 30.09.21. When queried, it suddenly changed to intransit. Then suddenly changed to delivered. NOT delivered. Going to make claim with PayPal. Don’t use them.

One week ago I ordered online from this Houston based company one $9 book plus $4 shipping, and paid with my Visa card. Not surprisingly, I haven't received book yet, nor any tracking information, but suspiciously today 7 fraudulent charges totaling $1,054 all from from Houston TX area appeared on my Visa account. To protect me from additional fraud, bank cancelled my credit card, BEWARE !

I ordered a book from Ergodebooks through Biblio.com where they had a "drop ship order" label next to their name. Ergodebooks said they shipped the book, but refused to provide tracking information. After two weeks when tracking still had not been provided and the book did not arrive, I contacted Biblio.com who issued a refund. Ergodebooks sent me an email blaming the post office and saying the package was "lost." Clearly from others' reviews and from research I did, this is their modus operandi. They take the customer's money whether they have the book or not, and will only refund when forced to, claiming it's the post office's fault. A terrible company with a business model meant to cheat customers.

Reading so many bad reviews here, and after a almost two months of waiting, I think I should come back and share my experience with this seller. After so much searching for a book printed in 1980, it was not without suspicion that I found an copy, described as new, on Abebooks, sold by Ergodebooks. I ordered a copy and two weeks later I received and email from amazon.it_at_supportingbuyers.com, it was related to my order but the words "Ergodebooks" or "Abebooks" were nowhere writen on the text. I found it suspicious and then started doing some search (that's when I found the reviews on trustpilot). Sending emails to the seller resulted in nothing but pre-writen responses, and after some time I was ready to ask for a refund, when one day I received an email with the tracking number (which I had asked before, but was never provided). Could it be that it was not a scam? And then I waited a some more time to the package to arrive. To my surprise the book was delivered today and, to my astonishment, like new, except for some dents on the cover. Maybe they are just realy bad with their logistics and despite the long time it took, I'm just glad to have my book.

I should have read the reviews. 80% bad reviews. I ordered a book. The book never arrived. I was never contacted by Ergodebooks. So a month later, I contacted Ergodebooks and complained. They said that they destroyed the book. Although they said that they would refund me....They never did. Buyer Beware. This company will scam you.

Update- Company finally did refund me. Company apologized.

I ordered a book and used PayPal so I would have some level of buyer protection.
I placed my order and never received an actual confirmation from Ergodebooks, just the PayPal receipt.
I contacted them when I hadn't heard anything and was given a default "we will look into this" response.
I told them they had 24 hours, or I would report them to PayPal as a fraud.
They then refunded me straight away after that, with no other explanation. This is website and company are a fraud! Do not buy anything from this website.

I will be filing a claim with Amazon. I used them as a third party seller for a book which was to arrive Aug 4 and is still nowhere to be found. When I emailed then asking for a refund, the told me “probably a neighbour took your book”. But the order on Amazon just says “shipped”, not “delivered”. Don’t use them - they suck. 👎

Free shipping means no tracking. I think this company sells a book to more than one person and says the book has shipped but not necessarily to YOU. I think the company uses the customer’s money to invest for the weeks it has it and then refunds it when you request it. They seem too willing to say “package lost by postal service” and refund money. They’re bringing in hundreds if not thousands of dollars a day, making interest or more off it for a number of weeks and then “refund” your money after they’ve made they’re money off it. Very suspicious. My $45 book never arrived and after six weeks I requested refund and was told it was on its way back to my account and would take a few days. Sad.

Advertised a book on biblio i wanted to buy (big black by simon myles), i ordered this book and received big needle instead. I won't take any further action, because it's not worth it, but i will never buy anything from ergodebooks again

I purchased a used book from Ergodebooks in July 2021 as a gift. I paid $81.98. The recipient opened the book and discovered an invoice for $18. I contacted Ergodebooks and provided them with a copy of the $18 invoice. They basically said too bad you agreed to pay $81.98. I have since found the book on multiple websites for $8 or $9 + shipping. DO NOT USE THIS VENDOR - DO YOUR HOMEWORK.

DO YOUR HOMEWORK FIRST. ERGODEBOOKS CHARGED 10 TIMES THE PRICE OF OTHER VENDORS. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE AT 1:30 pm EASTERN SAYS NO ONE IS AVAILABLE.
