The tool stack killer freelance editors needed.
As a freelance video editor working with agencies and brands, I've spent years juggling separate tools for hosting, client review, file delivery, and portfolio. FrameRate brings all of that into one platform, and it actually works well.
The review tools are the standout. Frame-accurate timecoded comments, drawing on frames, threaded replies, version stacking, and live sync calls where you can walk a client through a cut together. Clients don't need to create an account to leave feedback, which removes a barrier I've dealt with on other platforms for years.
Hosting is clean. 4K playback, customizable embeds, password protection per video, and analytics that show you where views are coming from. The portfolio profiles are well designed and let you present work the way it deserves to be seen.
The community side is a welcome addition. Discovery feed, curated work, and an availability signal so people can see when you're open for projects. It feels like what creative platforms used to be before they became algorithm-driven content machines.
One thing that really matters to me: they have a clear policy against using uploaded content for AI training. When you're handling client work and unreleased projects, that's not a bonus feature, it's a baseline requirement.
The platform is still relatively new, so some features are still maturing. But the foundation is solid and it's clear this was built by people who understand post-production workflows from the inside.
Highly recommended for editors, filmmakers, motion designers, and studios looking to consolidate their toolset.
