Full Spectrum Laser Customer Service is POOR

I am truly disappointed with this company. Zero help in support regarding the various laser settings. We had a very experienced employee who was trained on a china made laser, and he grew frustrated in trying to get this new laser to cut various wood with out burning. We contacted company for help, and there is nothing they can do!!! What a terrible company. They promise and promote stuff, all BS, and when you ask them to provide the proof regarding what they promoted.....crickets!!! Post here, and maybe we should consider a class action law suit against a company for false claims and advertising. At least maybe we can recoup our investment outlay. We have had the machine for a few weeks now, and engraving.....no problem. Works excellent. Cutting?? Nightmare! Anyone thinking of buying from this company.....I wish I didn't!!!

Shady Business

We had a deal worked out with Hans for a Muse 3D. After agreeing (I have the emails to back it up) to the deal we asked him to send over a payment link. When I looked at the link he had marked up the quote by almost $300. When I asked him about it, he said they pass the credit card charges to the customer. I told him I wasn’t paying anything more than what was quoted (with taxes and shipping). He refused to honor the deal so I went to another company to place the order for the machine. It arrived quickly, but upon inspecting the machine there was damage on the interior. These machines are supposedly QC’d at the factory. The damage to the interior was under a screen and also had to be accessed by a glass door (neither of which were damaged). Because the glass and lcd were I damaged, it makes me believe this was done maliciously in retaliation for buying from another company. Full Spectrum Laser has ignored all attempts to get this corrected. They refuse to send a replacement. They won’t take our calls. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. Flat out crooks.

BAD SOFTWARE

I have been using the PS36 for some time now and It works great but I am extremely dissatisfied with their software. Their products don't have any standalone software but instead force you to do everything on a terrible browser interface with very little customization and tools. This awful browser can only be ran off of the processing on the tiny computer inside the laser machine not even allowing you to use the resources of a expensive desktop computer. When putting images in the program it is so fuzzy you wont be able to see anything at a justifiable resolution making it nearly impossible to tune the settings on the photo. There is no way to add or change key binds, and I have emailed them asking to add that feature months ago with no signs of any adjustments

Full spectrum Muse-Perfect for a classroom

I bought the Hobby Muse- basic model for my middle school. I was having trouble with my touch screen, but I worked with Austin and I think it is now fixed. If you need service, ask for Austin- he is patient and knowledgeable.
I am very pleased with the laser. It is amazing what this machine can do. This model is perfect for my classroom and I would think a small business.

Little known laser company not worth the drama or stress

Found FSL in an obscure post on a woodworking forum when I was comparing laser cutters. I had a Glowforge budget but really wanted a lower end BOSS. Full Spectrum Muse 3D seemed to fit the bill as a decent compromise. Due to poor phone service and an extreme dislike of small talk, I chose to purchase online. Since I signed up for the financing option, of course I received the sales call. Spending nearly an hour in the phone for a “discovery” chat-my goals & such, I was impressed with how personable the salesman was. I was left feeling there was a potentially good relationship being forged and when upgrade time cane I might go with an FSL pro model. Things changed for me so I no longer needed in house financing, I contacted them stating such. Still pleasant to deal with to get an outright purchase made. This is where it gets tricky. Our sales guy had been on vacation when we made the change. The first ripple was his brusque response to my having made payment. The next to no follow up on my requests to both shipping and sales for shipping info after the 72hr shipping window elapsed. With no apologies and a mention that I needed to “understand they did $1M in sales a month”, that my machine was back ordered 10-15 business days. Having worked for multiple companies that $1M a month is horrendously poor AND taking into account their price points, I wasn’t impressed. But, machine ended up shipping far sooner than I anticipated. Fantastic news, sadly that’s the only good news so far. I ordered the Muse 3D, it arrived in multiple packages due to the accessories that I purchased with. No big deal since it all came together. There was quick start paperwork and a link to the owners manual had already been given to me. However, between being poorly written(Spelling/grammatical errors) and outdated instructions pertaining to the older models, it was a 2 day job to get it set up. That frustration would have been enough for a less than glowing review. I called after day1 to ask about the misaligned bolt holes & how to work around to no response. We figured out on our own that 2 screws held the exhaust just fine, so the misaligned other 2 weren’t an operational issue. Then the crushing blow .. the gantry only moves along the Y axis, and not very well, freezing after jogging more than 3 times. I immediately sent an email to support after doing everything we could think of & 3 hours with no resolution, neither the software nor rebooting helped reset. And after visual inspection revealed nothing appearing damaged or broken, it simply seems as if the gantry isn’t getting proper power. So after realizing my business is set to go live in just a few days and I’ll have no product, I shot an email to our “account executive” aka salesman to see if he could extend help in putting me in touch with someone in tech support. Crickets. So I have a very expensive paperweight & a business opening that I’ll have no product for. Should have just sucked up the Glowforge & upgraded to the BOSS laser my heart desires. I’m giving this 3 stars for the ease of placing order & the machine actually looking worth the cost(had it actually worked, it probably would have been 5 stars). Ultimately though. I’d strongly suggest avoiding Full Spectrum Laser like your life depended on it. Should I get a prompt, satisfactory resolution, I’ll update but I get the impression business is run to void the 30 day money back guarantee. Return must be made within 30 from date of purchase .. not date of receipt. And if original ship schedule had held, I wouldn’t have received until well after my purchase date.

Hobby machine, 24x36 pro 2015

The machine may a a good starter, but the single worst thing is the proprietary software that does not work with adobe products. The tech support is good, However you can buy a less expensive machine that does can use any software.
Will not buy again.

Purchasing Experience

The sales reps are great at following up and blowing your phone up until they get your wire transfer and banking information then they draft whenever they want no matter the contract you sign. They were not supposed to draft a $3,777.00 down payment out of my account until the 1st of march but decided to do it on the 3rd of February. When I contact the sales rep that sold me the machine all I could get is it was " their bad" and he would have someone get back with me from the accounting team.

*******BEWARE ********** I am fearful of them having my ACH information at this point.

They love to get you on the hook on the "end of the month" deals and then leave you out to dry.

Charged over $250.00 to ship the machine and then sales rep won't email or call you back with tracking information.

I am tempted to refuse the shipment and then find another provider if this is how Full Spectrum Laser operates sounds like the aftercare is not important to this company at all.
Not impressed with their overall customer service at all.

Do your homework, don't buy this piece of junk

We have had our FS Laser for 3 years. In that time I have replaced the laser tube, the power supply and have been told it was my fault by the "tech support" Needless to say, I would give this machine NO stars if it were possible. Virtual piece of junk. The machine keeps track of "runs" made by the machine. We have had 47 successful operations for this thing. VERY expensive per run when you consider we have spent almost as much fixing this thing as we did on the original purchase. The "Hobby 12x20" may be the most expensive paper weight in our shop.

Amazing

I had read a couple bad reviews before buying my ps24 laser. After receiving it I can say None of those reviews are true! They have been amazing help and I wouldn’t buy a laser anywhere else! Todd has went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed to start my business! I have spend hours on the phone with Nick (tech) helping me set my laser up and get it running! I have created a connection with this team!

I wish I had been as lucky

I wish I had been as lucky. This is for the Muse Hobby Laser. I have nothing but problems since I bought it in April. The power supply had to be repaired twice which means it cost me to send it to them both times. I have been busy getting my studio together and have not had time to devote to running lots of jobs. I would get the machine up and running, make sure it works and then continue working on the other things. When I come back to the machine some time later, I find I have another issue. I worked around them, now I can't. I've spent more time trying to work out issues than have it do actual work. I am not a dunce when it comes to handling these kinds of things. I've printed less than ten jobs on it. It does all sorts of strange things which I didn't want to call in because I didn't want to spend more money to send the unit to them. After RE3 2.0 got installed I can't use it at all. Can't get access to RE3. I've done factory resets, connected directly with ethernet to my PC, changed out cables, tried other computers. When it works you could use Raspberry Pi to run it. (Can't do that now either.) One time it wouldn't work on Chrome or Firefox or Microsoft Edge but then it started working on Edge and executing a file unexpectedly. Sometimes the Muse screen comes up, sometimes it doesn't. When it does come up it's actions are not always the same. It does odd things. The behavior is not consistent. I have ruled out firewall issues, ethernet cable damage and everything else I can think of. When RE3 2.0 got loaded I now no longer can use the machine at all. I sent in a message for support Friday night but won't be able to talk to them till Monday. I thank God I have not committed anything related to work on it yet. All I want is my money back. I spent a lot more money to have this unit over a Chinese version because I didn't want to have the issues. I feel I would have been better off buying the less expensive Chinese unit and get through its issues. Get outside of the warranty period and the thousands I spent will be gone. The unit I have is a lemon and I think I'm going to be screwed after the warranty period. I don't want to put any additional money into this. I'm ready to take my losses but I don't want to lose all my money.

They get better than one star because they have tried to help me and went above a beyond this last time but I also demanded it. I suspect these guys don't like to hear me coming because I am one frustrated and angry customer. I feel like I've been suckered.

Update - Got the control stack back. It worked the first time I turned on the machine. Then it no longer worked. It told me to contact support, which I did. Watched the videos made changes, double, triple checked connections. Now, while I don't get irregular behavior I get a consistent message telling me to shut down wait some moments then restart. It the problem continues contact support. I can not rely on this for business use. I noticed that at least one reviewer said about having a positive experience. I am glad for him but it does not make my comments not true. I am requesting a refund. I will see how they respond. How much money will I lose? I will post an update of how they end up handling this situation.

A true partner

I was introduced to Full Spectrum thru a friend who has several of their lasers. After some evaluation I am so proud to be a part of the family. I decided to use the FS laser in our shop over a competitive brand due to the commitment to the customer. The resources offered including tutorials, guides, manuals, projects, YouTube videos, are almost endless and although new to the system, I feel confident, especially with the FS team to backup their product. I most recently talked with WM and he and the team are a true asset to the company. Thanks FS, let's get cutting.

Service was over and above. Issue was addressed and solved in the same day.. Keep up the awesome job.
As far a my FS LASER PRO 2416 it meets and exceeds my needs.

Terrific Hobby Laser

Terrific Hobby Laser and good sized footprint 12 x 20. Very accurate, consistent and easy to use.
I use it primarily for my railroad hobby and making items for sale.
The RetinaEngrave software makes it easy to control power and speed and print from any Windows application. I absolutely love it.
Oh, and I got great support from sales in trying to decide options and tech support in setting up the laser.

Get one

I was very nervous about this product at first because of a lot of negative reviews. My laser tube did come broke and FSL replaced it, hey things happen. After watching videos and reading the manual a few times i am so happy i stuck with my machine!! STAY PATIENT ..This thing is freaking awesome. I still have a lot to learn but if your motivated enough you will eventually get it. I look forward to getting more machines to advance my business. Thank you for nick at fsl for reaching out.

I would give FSL a star…

I would give FSL a star review based on their after sales service and support.

That being said, the actual Muse works great (once I got it sorted out), there is good solid - well thought out engineering and manufacturing in the mechanical instrumentation.

In my past experiences, there is a reluctance to help when / if they respond to a question in a timely manner, and often the response is some thing like this quote -
"Unfortunately we are not equipped to assist you with computer related issues if the laser is functioning correctly."

This was in response to a cache question about RE3 not working correctly on my workstation...
You would think that they would at least try and help a little bit beyond the scope of the physical LASER cutter. I have had multiple bugs/problems from a Muse drive belt broken on arrival (unpacking) to difficulties in order fulfillment and getting supplies.
I've been dealing with machines (high end Workstations, 3D Scanners, 3D Printers, CNC Mills & Lathes) for my small business Zip-Bit, Inc. since 2004 and FSL has absolutely the worst support I've experienced...

We really like our MUSE

We really like our MUSE. We have had it for 10 months and things are going great. There was the usual learning curve as with any new technique but we have created many items that people love. From cards to photo to phone cases to a crystal snowflake pumpkin carriage. The more we use it the better the items look as we perfect the settings.

We had one unusual problem but tech support worked with us to resolve it in a timely fashion. Also we get a lot of useful information from the weekly live show on Facebook, new ideas and ways to use the MUSE more efficiently.

I would recommend the MUSE to anyone looking for a good hobby laser cutting and engraving machine.

The Artist and the Techno Geek

We bought our MUSE about 10 months ago. I can’t say it’s been smooth sailing, BUT I can say any problems I had were “Operator Error”. Machine wise, we’ve had no problems. I’m the artistic one in this duo and my husband John is the brains of the operation. At this point, we are not using the MUSE as a business; but working in that direction. Real retirement is a few years off. Meanwhile, I plan on mastering the RE3 and Corel Draw programs to the point he’ll be asking me questions. We've had a few paying gigs but most have fallen into the gifting category. Last year was the year for weddings and babies! They all received personalized gifts that blew their minds. And I think some of them were priceless! Our Crystal Snowflake Pumpkin and Carriage for a December wedding was a smash success. We definitely have saved money by making these gifts when compared to items listed on Etsy. Next big project is making new name tags for our church and donor recognition plaques for outdoor use at one of the camps.

I love the thrift stores and I’m always looking at items and thinking about how cool they would look engraved. My background as a women’s formal wear seamstress, gives me a built in network of potential customers.

I have only 2 complaints. Well maybe 3.
1. I can’t cut foam core board. But that’s not it’s fault.
2. I wish we had bought a larger machine. But that was our decision and I’m sure we will upgrade in the future.
3. Nick and a Walker are only on once a week now. I really liked it when they had more shows.

There is a learning curve. But the way you can allow your imagination to run wild, is worth the initial struggles.
