The refund policy is terrible

The refund policy is terrible. I returned a parcel as it arrived too late (apologies don’t cut it when they miss their stated delivery times!) There is no acknowledgement of their receipt of a return, even though I had photographic proof of delivery back to Asda 2 days after pickup by yodel and then it takes over 14 days for the refund to come through (I still haven’t received my refund and apparently it will not come through for another 8 days - this according to their “help agent”, who’s English was so bad I had to keep asking them to repeat what they were saying).
In total IF my refund does actually appear when they claim it will be more like 20 days, not the 3-5 days once they receive the item which I read on their site!! Of course if they’re not acknowledging receipt those time scales go out of the window!!

Absolutely awful

Absolutely awful, I ordered a set of candles with named day delivery. Set arrived incomplete so I called the helpline (I use helpline loosely)after half an hour of firstly trying to find the number . Was told I would have to return my items and would be refunded in FULL however I had to wait an age for refund and then was short changed my £5 delivery charge. As I had not received what I ordered I was expecting all of my money back, now I have no candles, had to wait in a day for someone to come and collect my parcel and am £5 out of pocket to boot . Looks like this is how Asda makes a profit from fiddling people. Will not use this site ever again and would warm others before doing so as well .

Ordered items came smashed to bits after delaying the order twice nightmare trying to speak to someone will never order here again eventually received one of the orders but have not recieved the other one to be mailed and said my second package was lost and would refund my money still waiting on my refund never order from here absolute disgrace will take my customer else where

Save yourself time and please don't…

Save yourself time and please don't order from these guys. They will waste your time and the phone operators don;t care. they will put you on hold, stop speaking to you or pretend they cannot hear you and switch the phone off.

King size Teddy Fitted Sheet - Been used!

After opening my king size teddy fitted sheet I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. It looked like it had already been on someone’s bed! 2 holes and other things stuck to the back, won’t go into detail. I tried to use the site to send enquiry, took 3 days to get back to me, should be 2. Delaying tactics saying I had sent wrong order number, which I hadn’t. What happened to staff using their heads and doing their jobs! I have spent a lot with George in recent years, not anymore. Will be buying elsewhere in future and after seeing the reviews on here the only good thing is we all agree, they are useless! Buy elsewhere

George Home is the worst place to buy…

George Home is the worst place to buy appliances in the whole word. I bought a tiwst blender which didn't work at all. I tried to return it but guess what? The customer representative was so rude. Because I couldn't find the receipt, he didn't even wanna listen to me. He didn't change nor refund me. Minutes later, he said I had come for the refund before. How do you get a refund without having to drop what you bought?

Asda is the worst place to buy electronics. Worst customer service, worst everything. This guy at Asda Marina Brighton is one of the worst employees I've ever seen in my life.

Now I see why their rating is poor.

I ordered five items

I ordered five items, they were supposed to to come in three separate packages. I have still not received any. I had several texts from both Evri and George, stating there was a delay. Then this morning I had a text saying I had cancelled part of my order🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ I called customer service four times and was fine lined 3 of them. When I did get through they said the package was lost !!! First lie. I said I don’t believe that because part of the order is still coming, and I don’t want it as there’s only part of a set, which renders the outfit useless. My daughter works Monday and Fridays so they can’t collect, and want me to take the order back to store, I’m disabled, hence why I shop on line. My refund for what they have cancelled won’t be with me for five days. Yet they took my money straight away and have held on to it whilst not resolving their c… up So now I’m out of pocket, don’t have the items I paid for, am still waiting for the remainder of the parcel before I can return it, and told I cancelled it in writing which is a down right lie. On top of that I gave to return it to store. George you are an absolute disgrace, you lie and blame your customers, your service on the phone is depressing and unhelpful. NEVER would I shop with you again nor will my daughter. And as for word of mouth I will put over social media, and never recommend you.

Wish I had seen all the negative reviews before purchasing

Wish I had seen all the negative reviews here before I placed an online order. I had no idea how bad George at Asda are. Like others here, I ordered some items one of which was a vase. It arrived in a box with no bubble wrap so it clearly got broken in transit. How stupid of them to not wrap it?! Now I have to go through all the refund hassle like others have. Tried to leave a review on their website but you can't say anything negative, it simply stops it going through. Someone is clearly controlling this but doesn't actually invest time to do quality control or read this platform! I definitely will not buy from them again.

After numerous phone calls & emails

After numerous phone calls & emails, a number of which I've been told have been "escalated and you will hear within 24-48 hrs" I'm so exasperated with Asda George, especially dealing with India, that I don't know what to say! They deserve ZERO stars, not ONE. I bought an obviously dangerous appliance which has leaked water badly everywhere and subsequently blown the appliance and the electrical sockets in my kitchen. Asda say they've refunded me - but only part. Getting someone to help with the remaining balance is nigh on impossible. Chasing them and getting India once again is just too much so I'm going to Consumer Advice/Citizens Advice. Asda George should be ashamed of their Customer Service.

Cancelled next day CC

Placed an order on the 18th for next day click&collect got an email a day later saying it was delayed.. part got delivered (3items) but the other part was still on the way (8items) the chat assistant is pointless just repeats things so I called and the person on the phone was nice but i was told the other part of the order would be cancelled... leaving me with just 3 items from the order so its pointless me travelling to collect! Person on the phone told me to reorder the items for home delivery?? Why is that available but they cant do it to there own store? Makes zero sense.

Complete scam of a company

My money is currently being held captive by george.com - I placed an order 3 months ago as a Christmas present and after various rounds of emails and calls and chasing, still have not received the order. They claim that they need to wait for confirmation from the fulfilment centre that the order has been 'lost' and refuse to refund me the money despite receiving no replies. There is no proactive follow up and I plan on pursuing legal action.

I wish to put a complaint in please.

I picked up my order (order reference 160296247) from Tunbridge wells ASDA TN2 3EY.

I got home opened the packaging which looked already opened anyway I thought nothing of it, removed items started putting them together with the lids to notice one was bent so therefore I tried the lid with it as wasn’t sure if it was the design - anyway then the lid did not go on.

Went in the box and came across a returns slip that was someone else’s! So basically someone had returned there item and I was given their return!

Phoned ASDA customer services and spoke with a lady, explained the situation. She advised the only 2 resolutions were - 1) return item and get a full refund and re purchase if wished to do so. 2) A partial refund of £5 and keep the item.

I was understandably frustrated. I expect when ASDA have made a mistake to either arrange a courier to collect it as I had already gone out my way to collect it and it would mean arranging a box to send back / celotape - unnecessary and unfair considering this was ASDA fault. I also cannot believe just £5 would have been offered considering just the pan alone not on any sale is about £15! And especially as this is ASDA fault I am appalled. I explained I would like a full refund and will keep the item due to there errors especially as it would be chucked if it was returned (well not this circumstance anyway as I’ve received someone’s return!). The lady advised the above is all she can do. I asked if I could speak with a manager, she went to see after I asked multiple times, I wouldn’t have to ask multiple times she should have said certainly I will check - not great customer services. Anyway she goes to the manager and says manager is on the phone but has agreed with what she said, firstly as a manager you should not just pass on a message you should accept the request of someone wanting to speak with you and if you are busy call back - poorly managed. I asked for a call back which I shouldn’t have had to and the lady said this will be 24-48H ridiculous.

I then phone what I thought was ASDA Tunbridge wells team to enquire about parking in ASDA to drop this return off as I know a lot of car parks only allow you to come in once and can fine you for coming in twice in the same day (even if not the max of 2 hours). I then was through to customer services again that didn’t have a clue. Again, I’m already stressed regarding the situation to then not be certain of getting a ticket!

Arrived at ASDA Tunbridge wells, explained the situation, managers came down. Managers were appalled and shocked and are writing to the office regarding this as they’ve never had this before and find it awful.

I showed the evidence of the return slip not being mine and this being a return, the manager also noticed the original persons return label had my label put over the top.

He kindly used the machine to create a return label so that I get a refund. He kindly looked to see if there was an alternative I could buy as they can’t provide an exchange due to being ordered online. Unfortunately they had none in stock so I’ve had to re buy.

I am utterly shucked by this situation and I will await your response regarding this matter.

I would like this passed onto managers.

No response from customer services email for 3 days so far

Last order for me!@

I made an online order, the status of the order didn't change from ' it's on its way' . When it was a week later than the expected delivery date I emailed customer service... it's now 2 weeks past the expected delivery date and It still hasn't been resolved. I received no email apologising for the delay/ lack of goods I paid for. Customer service just keep telling me its being investigated!!

Damaged items received – Order no. 160264455

I am writing to express my disappointment with my recent order (Order no. 160264455).

I ordered a set of three Really Useful Boxes. When the delivery arrived, two out of the three boxes were damaged and unusable. This is extremely frustrating, especially as I needed them urgently for storage purposes.

I also found it very difficult to contact your company. There appears to be no clear contact option on your website. I emailed customer services but have not received any response so far.

I have since noticed that other customers have reported very similar issues, including receiving incomplete or damaged items and being offered inconvenient solutions such as returning everything before a replacement is even processed. This results in unnecessary delays and disruption.

Given the poor communication, lack of timely support, and the condition of the items received, I am very disappointed with the service. I would appreciate a prompt response and a reasonable solution, such as a replacement or refund, without further inconvenience.

Bad customer service and wasteful of my time and their products.

I ordered a set of 3 Really Useful boxes. They arrived with only one lid between them. I couldn't find anyway on the website to contact them. Mannaged to find a number through Google that took me to a call centre with fairly poor English and poor connection, it was hard to hear properly what was being said. They said they cannot send me the lids. Instead they will collect the ones I've been sent and then make another order (but only once they have recieved the other one back) and then it will be another 3-4 days before they can send me another. Meanwhile, I cannot get on with the storage I needed to do before this weekend, unless I go buy some more from somewhere else. Really poor service and I won't be using them again.

Appalling product delivery

Absolutely disgusted with the product I was delivered! I order 4 tier plastic storage unit for my daughters toys & it was delivered covered in bird poo INSIDE the packaging!!! Clearly visible by whoever package the product! Absolutely disgusting!!! Never again will I order from this company! Little was done by customer service, it has been a complete inconvenience ordering online & caused nothing but added stress! Asda you are a disgrace! Do better!

I’ve attempted to raise a formal…

I’ve attempted to raise a formal complaint against Asda George in relation to an order which was placed 10/01/2026 with a delivery date stated as "by 20th January".
I have been tracking this order since it was placed and up until 20/01/2026 the status was "order being prepared". Today 20th January, the final day for delivery, I received a text message to say the order has been delayed. It is fairly obvious that the order took 9 days to prepare for delivery and after checking with the courier i.e. Evri, they do not even have the order yet so still not on its way as the tracking now states.
I contacted Asda on 0330 053 0111 and all they have done is refund the postage cost and told me I would just have to wait for the order to arrive. This is totally unacceptable and definitely not what I would expect from a company like Asda who claim to care about their customers.
I would really like to know why it took 9 days to prepare my order and why, to date, it has still not been shipped and also what Asda are prepared to do about this situation however they obviously do not want to have any reasonable contact with customers as it’s impossible to do so. Shame on you Asda.

Poor C&C store experience

Ordered a matching microwave and kettle for Click & Collect to my local store. On arrival was unsure where to go so queued at kiosk to eventually be told that I needed to use the nearby machine which had Amazon signs plastered all over it. After many attempts at scanning my QR code and waiting a long time, a staff member appeared with my order. He said that the microwave box had been stacked on top of the kettle box which was severely battered. Luckily on inspection it was undamaged. I am giving my 2 stars to the guy who kindly carried the boxes out to my car.

I placed an order with Asda George on…

I placed an order with Asda George on 8th January for delivery on 13th. I received an email and text message a couple of days later saying my order was delayed. I had to contact their customer services on 26th January as I still hadn’t received my order or any update information. They refunded my delivery charge which I didn’t ask for, I just wanted my order delivered. I was promised a response by 18th January and if they had lost my order they could refund or reorder, I needed the clothing so asked them to reorder. On 20th January still no order or information. I rang again to be told that my order had been list in transit and that half of my order items were now out of stock. Appalling customer service in both their failure to deliver and failure to communicate!!
