I met Lizzie and Hannah when they were in Aberdeen. I had never done anything like this before so wasn't too sure what to expect. They were friendly, genuine and honest about it worked. I sold a number of bits and pieces was really pleased with the outcome and was offered cash or a bank transfer. I have already recommend Gerrards to friends and family and would have no hesitation in using them again.

I saw Simon today and was impressed by his efficiency and his courteous manner towards me. I was happy with his valuation. In all a good experience.

We met Simon and Elizabeth on Wednesday 4th February. They were welcoming, informative and a pleasure to deal with. Simon gave us an acceptable price and acknowledged the sensitivity of giving away items valued by our Mother. We would recommend Gerrards. P.S. we also saw your brother (Tony? not sure) the previous week who was also great to meet.

We had a great experience. We did not have to go far for the valuation, Simon was clearly knowledgeable and offered market rates. We did not feel pressured at all and sold some bits and kept others.

Very pleased with the offer they provided me. I was initially offered £70 from another company but Gerrards offered me £300 for the same items. Lizzy and Debs were very helpful and honest with me from the start with i apriciated a lot.

Simon based at the Empress Hotel on the Isle of Man was quick, knowledgeable and efficient. Gave honest valuations from a selling and buying point of view. We've never had jewellery valued before and we were surprised that what seemed like junk actually returned a nice little immediate return in cash. Other items were valued with no pressure to sell. 100% recommend Gerrards Auction Room and Simon was a pleasure to deal with.

Went along to Gerrards as was local to me here in Chippenham, and there was only one person in front of me. I heard her squeal in delight at the price she was offered for gold jewellery. I handed Lizzie and Debs my grandfather's medals. I was given info about the medals, and then gladly snapped their hands off when offered a good price (I had an idea as had looked online that morning). A pleasure to meet Lizzie and Debs, and to be informed about the medals was interesting, and a free service!

An honest review of dealing with Gerrards for the first time.
We met with Simon and Lizzy at their travelling valuation day in Wigton, Cumbria.

We arrived about 3pm, there was one older lady in front of us who was being treated courteously with no push to sell and seemed extremely happy with the sale of her items. This made us feel that we were dealing with a professional company.

For the most part we spoke with Simon but did have a brief chat with Lizzy, both were chatty and made you feel comfortable with the process.

Simon valued our items and was happy to talk about prices, the industry and the best course of action to take with items if we chose to hold on to them.
As with the lady before, my wife and I were treated courteously and Simon even suggested that we didn’t need to decide there and then, so we took the opportunity to have 10 minutes to discuss his valuations privately.

Once we were happy, we agreed on a price and the deal was done there and then.

We appreciate that Gerrard’s is a business and businesses need to make a profit, so although our items may have brought more selling them privately, we were in no way forced or pushed to sell.

Think of it like selling your car to a dealership, what they offer is convenience and confidence, no need to search for a buyer with all the pitfalls that can entail and no need to worry about receiving your money as the items are paid for there and then.

Would we deal with Gerrards again…absolutely!

Fantastic service and a lovely friendly family business

Gerard’s are just the sort of auction house you want to do business with. In this day and age of high commission charges as a buyer with little tangible to show for it, Gerard’s are different. Sensible commission charges, with the convenience of their own bidding platform online and an in-house P&P option - increasingly hard to find as auctioneers seem to be pushing buyers to expensive 3rd party options. Their customer service was very friendly, personal and helpful. From winning to receiving my lot was just over a week, which is excellent (thanks to Carole). All in all it means I will happily bid or sell with Gerard’s. A breath of fresh air.

Gerrards came to a venue local to me seeking old gold and silver jewellery, etc. I took along a small selection of old gold chains that I would never wear again. I was happy to receive a much more substantial sum than I could have expected. Debs was very friendly and helpful in checking the quality of my items. Would def recommend a visit if you have unused jewellery that, like mine, may otherwise end up being binned.

Very unimpressed with the way I was treated. Items were literally 'shoved' back towards me over the table, possessions that might be worthless to you but are of sentimental value to me. You also say on your website that you had a special interest in vintage musical instruments so I brought some along and they were rejected with hardly a second glance. I also brought some gold but you didn't have the necessary equipment to test it was real and of what quality - how pointless is that?! Complete waste of my time. Wouldn't come again nor recommend anybody else do so,

Was a bit sad going to the selling venue, but the ring I had was not going to be forwarded to a relative, there are none. I don't know if I dealt with Debs or Lizzy, but the compassion she showed me was so caring, which I really thank her for. I feel the price I was given was extremely fair, I had no idea, but I was happy. Would totally recommend this company, real people and compassionate.
