Very disappointing experience with…
Very disappointing experience with HomeShield England. We initially said no but were told the reduced price was only available that day and by BACS transfer. Before signing, I specifically asked about the cooling-off period and was told seven days. I was not told the order would enter manufacture within hours. The sales process is misleading.
Their manufacturing timeline also does not make sense to me, and I have asked for evidence.
I cancelled and requested my £7,660 back. They are now telling me to send the cancellation by Royal Mail to a unit I personally visited but could not identify HomeShield operating from. Despite repeatedly asking for senior management to contact me, this remains unresolved. I am now contacting Citizens Advice.
A cautionary tale
I am extremely angry and disappointed by Homeshield England’s handling of our order, the surprise changes following the technical survey and our unresolved request for a £10,500 refund.
We paid a £10,500 deposit towards a £21,000 package for windows, doors and a glazed roof. Following the technical survey, Homeshield proposed removing the glazed roof with a deduction of just £3,500. Homeshield also requested a further £2,100 for an additional fixed window and for changing the Juliet balcony provision from the single door listed in its quotation to the two doors required, when this was their error as I provided the exact requirements pre deposit.
When we compared this with a reputable provider’s quotation we were considering, the remaining window and door package was approximately £7,000 more expensive, not even including that we would still need to pay for the lean to roof, which will be significantly higher than 3.5k.
Every window and door, along with the glazed roof, should have been individually priced at the outset and provided to us in writing. Not doing so was evasive and a perfect entrapment, now our £10,500 is at risk if we don't comply.
Homeshield maintains that its pre-payment quotation confirmed the scope. We disagree that the revised arrangement reflects the complete project we understood we were purchasing.
Cancellation timeline
The deposit was paid on Saturday to be able to progress to technical survey. The survey took place on Monday. We received the survey results and shocking and extortionate financial implications on Wednesday from the Operations Manager/surveyor and emailed our cancellation within an hour.
Homeshield says bespoke materials had already been ordered on Tuesday before we received those details and had the opportunity to review them.
I want Homeshield to explain exactly what confirmed measurements and specifications were used for Tuesday’s order, when they were finalised, and whether it ordered materials in preparation for manufacture a day before we received these amendments.
What exactly was ordered, from whom, at what cost and on what basis? Could those orders be cancelled or amended? Simply describing the goods as bespoke does not explain what actual loss was incurred or why that loss should justify retaining our 10,500 deposit.
We also complied with Homeshield’s requirement for paper cancellation within seven days, with postal tracking confirming delivery.
Contractual concern and customer care
Clause 3.1 of Homeshield’s own terms offers cancellation within seven days and a full refund, provided the company is not at a loss. Its terms already recognise that its products are made to individual requirements.
If Homeshield maintains that it incurred a loss, I want a clear, itemised explanation supported by dated supplier records showing:
• What was ordered on Tuesday and the specifications used.
• Whether the order concerned raw materials, components or finished products.
• When manufacture actually began, if it did.
• What costs were incurred and how the claimed loss was calculated.
Communication has made this situation worse. The gent who handled our quotation, has completely disappeared since things went wrong. Although the company has sent written (legal speak) responses, we have been unable to reach anyone by telephone who can resolve the complaint, including our key contact. Our attempts to obtain help by phone have led to automated bot responses rather than a conversation with human customer care.
Having £10,500 tied up while chasing answers during a renovation is deeply stressful. I find the handling of our order and cancellation unacceptable.
Requested resolution
I am asking management to take responsibility, contact us directly and resolve this matter with a full refund of our £10,500 deposit.
If Homeshield relies on losses to withhold a refund, it should substantiate those losses rather than simply say that bespoke materials were ordered. If no loss was incurred, it should honour its stated seven-day cancellation policy and refund the deposit in full.
I will update this review accurately with the eventual outcome.
Looking back, the warning signs were there: a 50% deposit requested before the technical survey, an all-in price without individual prices for each component, and no credit card payment option offered to us. We paid by bank transfer, so there is no credit card transaction to challenge through a chargeback. When problems arose, accessible customer care was missing, our 10.5k deposit hanging in the balance.
I would urge customers to take my experience as a warning and choose another window company. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Homeshield England for transparent pricing or customer care.
This year August26 replaced windows & Patio door.
This year August 2026 I have decided to replace my windows and my broken patio door and i have used HomeShield England Ltd, after seeing few more other companies and they have far more a better products and prices compare to the others. From start to end Zach has been very professional with a fantastic customer service. He explained very well the windows's frame and their glasses and advised us to make the best choice for us. Also, it is a UK made product so we always promote the UK businesses.
I can genuinely say that I have made the best choice, so i will recommend Homeshield England Ltd to anyone that wants their windows and doors replaced or installed for the first time, plus their prices are far more better for the quality of their windows and doors plus they have access to the Government funding to help people to make their changes by helping them financially. Do they ticked all the boxes from quality, price and service. I will use Homeshield England Ltd again and tell all my family and friends to go and check them out for themselves.
Thank you very much again Zach and Homeshield England Ltd.
Great experience
Really happy with the window installation. The team were very friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend.
Happy!
I have whole house replacements to aluminum, unique style and great experience!
Cancelled within my legal rights, now being chased for £7,700..joke!
I recently signed a contract with Homeshield at my home on 25 July for windows and a door, and paid a £500 deposit. Because a salesman came to my house, this is a doorstep sale, which by law gives a 14 day cancellation period.
I decided not to go ahead, mainly because of the payment terms. They require you to pay 95% of the money before you see any work or windows at all, with only 5% held back until completion, bank transfer or cash only, so no card protection. On top of that, their terms mean you have to pay in full before any complaint or snagging is dealt with, so you hand over almost everything and then have little left to hold them to account with. I wasn't comfortable with that on a job of this size.
I cancelled well within the cancellation period, both by email and by returning their own cancellation form by Special Delivery, which they confirmed receiving on 31 July. They replied confirming the cancellation was received and being processed. No windows were fitted and I had told them in writing not to proceed and that I would not pay the balance.
I then heard nothing for weeks despite several emails chasing my £500 refund. Only after I chased and mentioned escalating did I suddenly receive a demand for an £8,200 cancellation charge, 80% of the contract value, claiming the order had gone into production. In other words, instead of refunding my deposit, they are now trying to bill me £7,700.
I would strongly urge anyone to be very careful. Be aware of your statutory cancellation rights on a doorstep sale, be very cautious about the front loaded payment terms, and get everything in writing. I am now having to escalate this through the proper channels to recover my deposit
Update following the company's response:
The company states my order "progressed into production." Their own email to me, dated 29 July at 08:14, says the opposite: that manufacture had been paused, that the order would "remain on hold," and that "no manufacturing will continue until we receive your instruction to proceed." It also confirmed the order would only be released into manufacture once I confirmed I wished to proceed and the deposit balance was received. I never gave that confirmation, and I never paid the deposit balance. I had already instructed them in writing at 12:29 on 28 July, hours before the surveyor attended that afternoon, not to move the order into manufacturing.
The company says it holds "production records." I invite them to produce any manufacturing record dated before my cancellation. I hold the email quoted above.
On the cancellation terms, their own contract at clause 3.1, and their own Notice of Cancellation, both state the buyer has 7 days from signing to cancel and receive a full refund. I signed on 25 July, cancelled in writing on 29 July, day four, and returned their prescribed form by Special Delivery, delivered 31 July, day six. Their team confirmed receipt and that the cancellation was being processed, with no mention of any charge at that time. The £8,200 charge was raised on 19 August, after I chased my refund.
I am content for this to be considered through formal channels, as the company suggests. That process is now underway.

From the outset the Sales and Service…
From the outset the Sales and Service was great.
All options were offered and great advice was given all throughout the project and very quickly decided upon my windows and doors, manufacturing process was fast and feedback was excellent throughout that also… the windows and doors were promptly installed soon afterwards and the fitting team were very clean and efficient in all aspects of their work and the cherry on the cake is my house looks great 😊very happy to recommend
Dissapointing fit and customer service.
We recently had our windows fitted by Homeshield, and unfortunately our experience was extremely disappointing. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this company.
The installation was of a poor standard with large gaps around the windows, one window fitted at a slant in a wood panelled room, and damaged plaster work left behind. We were assured there would only be a small (4mm) gap requiring minimal filling, but instead we had to pay for two full days of professional remedial work to achieve an acceptable finish to the cracks, gaps and damage.
I contacted Homeshield during the installation to report the poor workmanship and requested an urgent callback before the job was completed. Despite this, I received no response until three days later, on chasing them by repeated email. By then, 95% of the payment had already been made by direct bank transfer (which is their only payment option). Rather than addressing our concerns, the company focused on demanding the remaining balance and warned that interest would be charged if payment was delayed.
Despite several emails to their customer service, detailing our concerns with photo evidance, Homeshield simply replied that they reviewed the evidence and "Satisfied with their high standard of fitting", despite the obvious defects. We also feel the windows installed, are not exactly the same thickness and quality, as the sample shown to us.
My advice, thoroughly research company reviews on as many platforms, read Recent customer reviews, avoid being pressured into signing during a sales visit and definitely don't believe the salesman but make an informed decision.
Our previous windows lasted over 30 years, but based on the quality of this installation, I have doubts on the durability of the windows and the saving energy aspects.
Poor surveying, poor fitting, poor after-sales service, additional time, stress and expense have made this a disappointing experience.
I am sure Homeshield will write a very good reply to cover their lack of good and honest service but this will not change the poor quality of fitting, finish and service received.
Note to Homeshield - It is 'Best practice to check your records/ emails, acknowledge and respond to reported issues rather than denial of a problem. I am obviously a dissatisfied custome and I only hope you supply the promised certifications as per our contract now.
We chose this company on the website
We chose this company. The consultant came and promised allthe job will be done properly. But unfortunately was not. We paid all amount just 426.25 pds remaining. But the guys dropped glues on my carpet. On my terracotta and outside my garden flooring we were at work my son was at home they were supposed to wipe it all is stain now cannot get rid of. Front door was unfinished , my neighbours around came and saw it they said is not finished the door . now we are calling the consultant he disconnected our calls. The company should send someone to check . We have all pictures. No one from the company is getting in touch with us. We are disappointed at least the front door should be completed as professional. Just last week thursday and friday i did this job.
We had new windows and doors.
We had all our windows and doors replaced back in April. Zach was the best salesman I’ve ever encountered, no pushiness just great recommendations and oodles of patience with our indecision. The company manufactured our order rapidly and managed to squeeze us in during the Easter break.
The installation guys were polite and respectful, a bit messy whilst working but what builder isn’t! They were some of the hardest working people I’ve ever met. As promised they fitted everything in just two days, including the cat flap. They finished the install to a high standard and left everything tidy and clean.
The after sales staff were also happy to help with a minor billing difference. I had paid a deposit for a new canopy just in case our installer had no choice but to remove our current one. In the end they didn’t have to and we just needed that removed from the bill.
I am delighted with our new doors and windows and so are our neighbours!
Would highly recommend the whole team, quality product and good communication throughout.

Had to call them in at the last minute…
Had to call them in at the last minute as we were/are having an extension done. So while doing that the option came up to redo all the windows, however the plastering deadline meant that we needed to move quickly. They came in, were very professional and understanding and in under 2 weeks they got the job done
I was worried on a number of occasions as it was all a bit last minute, and so imaged all sorts of scenarios. However every time I contacted for any sort of clarification the questions were answered within an hour and at most within half a day. All this helped put me at ease The final work was done very professionally, with a lot of attention to detail to fix any breaks in the render that may have happened when taking out the old windows.
The work was done a few weeks ago. I've waiting this long to ensure things are not falling apart, and while we are not back at the address due to the ongoing work, so far I have not seen any cause for concern. Excellent job, I would recommend them.

Security risk failure- structural defects and unprofessional behaviour
Review Title: Major structural failure (door fell off). Unsafe & Unprofessional.
I am a single mother who paid Homeshield England Ltd I am a customer who paid this business the vast majority of our contract value (Ref: 15th Jan this year), retaining a minor hundred pound balance due to unresolved installation defects. People needs to be aware of our experience The people needs to be aware of their poor workmanship and inhumane treatment I have faced:
Health and Safety : Yesterday at 3:20PM, the heavy glass patio door they installed completely detached from its upper tracks and collapsed, narrowly missing my four-year-old child. It represents a severe, life-threatening danger. Contacted the project manager on his number but calls and messages were ignored.
Property Left Unsafe: This structural damage of the door installed by them left my home freezing cold, open to the weather, and completely susceptible to break-ins. My front door lock is also doesn’t work properly.
Broken Promises & Ghosting: The company promised an engineer would arrive on 6th (the same day incident happened). I waited from 08:30 AM to 6PM but no one turned up or called. When the door collapsed around 3:25PM their lines were completely shut.
Retaining Documents: They are harassing me by retaining my mandatory FENSA certificates and structural warranties to blackmail me into paying the remaining minor retention fee.
Review published earlier: When I posted a previous negative review, a customer service representative called and explicitly stated they would only send a team to fix my doors if I took the review down first. I refused.
Official Reports Filed:-
I have continuous video evidence of the door structural defect and will now be taking this company to the Small Claims county division. Do not trust them with your safety.
I will not hesitate to take this further and save innocent lives.

Dear Zach, Adam and the Team
I hope you are well.
I wanted to take a moment to say a sincere thank you for all your support throughout this process.Zach Your kindness, patience, and understanding really stood out to me, and I can honestly say that if it wasn’t for you, I would not have chosen to go ahead with the company. You made the whole experience feel much more comfortable and reassuring.
It was also a pleasure meeting Adam, who was equally professional and helpful. Both of you truly went above and beyond, and that level of care does not go unnoticed.
From what I have seen so far, the quality and finish of the windows look absolutely beautiful genuinely the best I have seen by far. The fitters also worked very hard and clearly did their best to ensure everything was completed to a high standard, which I really appreciate.
Overall I am very pleased and grateful for the service I received.
I would say for anyone who wants quality Windows HOMESHIELD is the company to use.
Homeshield windows
I unfortunately was persuaded by the salesman to employHomeshield to do my windows. He was very hard sell and I fell for it. However, they rang many weeks later and told me they could fit the next day. I made appointment for the next day.
At 2.40pm,, had an email to say that if interim payment was not made by 4pm, the fitting would be cancelled and I would be charged £350 to make new appt. I was supposed to have 24 hrs notice of payment.
I paid.., but they didn’t turn up next day. They said the fitter had norovirus.. not sure how they knew this if he hadn’t been tested in a&e.!!. And if he had.. why did they make an appointment.
They kept making appointments for the work to be done, but not turning up. I have sat in waiting for them on many days with no notification that they were not coming.
Each time they didn’t turn up, I was fobbed off with ridiculous excuses but never an apology.
Yet another appointment made, they were due to come between 8 and 10 am. They turned up at 1pm, company blamed traffic, but fitter told me he had been on another job.
I would not recommend this company
I wish I had never let their salesman into my house as the experience took all the joy out of having my windows and door done. I spent too many of my days waiting for a company who care so little that they don’t even notify the customer when appt is cancelled.
The work has been almost done now and it looks ok to the untrained eye. I still owe a small amount of the bill, which I will not be paying until the job is finished.
The company keep finding excuses to remove my review!!!
Good value, service, speed and attention to detail.
The price gave good value. The service was Swift courteous and clean. All debris was removed and it was a pleasure using Homeshield.

recently had the pleasure of working with Homeshield England for the replacement of my windows and door, and the experience exceeded all expectations. From start to finish, the service was outstanding.
A special mention goes to Zack, whose professionalism, knowledge, and dedication truly made a difference. He took the time to clearly explain the benefits of double glazing, helping us understand how it would improve insulation and keep our home warm during the winter months. His guidance ensured we made the best choices for our needs while also respecting our budget.
What stood out most was Zack’s continued support and attentiveness—even after the installation, he followed up regularly to ensure everything was perfect. That level of care is rare and deeply appreciated.
Thank you, Zack, for your exceptional service and commitment. You turned what could have been a routine upgrade into a genuinely positive and reassuring experience.

I am upgrading a property with single glazed original windows the job was not the easiest. Honestly everything has been faultless. Everything to my time scales and workings. Workmen who came over to install were polite and hard working. Upfront when one very minor issue occured. After install follow up care and fensa certificates sent without any hassle. It's been absolutely fantastic dealing with this company homeshield and Zach. I will be buying more windows and some sliding doors from zach as they have been so helpful. Outstanding service on all fronts - faultless. Thank you for my fabulous upgrades.
