I’m extremely disappointed with my experience with HPL and would strongly advise others to think twice before purchasing from them.

I bought a CUPRA Formentor, and within just a month of ownership, the car developed a fault. What followed was a long and frustrating process - they attempted to fix the issue four separate times, but none of those attempts were successful. This left me without a properly functioning vehicle and with very little confidence in their service.

Eventually, they agreed to accept my rejection of the car. However, they then charged me 45p per mile for the usage during the time I owned it. I tried to discuss this with them, as I felt it was unfair given the ongoing issues and failed repair attempts, but they were completely unwilling to engage in any meaningful conversation.

Since then, communication has been extremely poor. Emails are being ignored, and phone calls are not being returned. I’ve now had to escalate the matter into a legal case, and even in this process, they have been uncooperative.

Overall, the experience has been stressful and disappointing from start to finish. I would strongly recommend avoiding HPL and choosing a more reputable and customer-focused dealer.

Very poor experience with HPL motors. Girlfriend Bought a Cupra Formentor last year, it was failing with safety warnings and despite 4 attempts to repair the vehicle, it was ultimately rejected. Managers unresponsive to issues and then trying to charge 45p per mile for the rejection (their fault) which is completely unreasonable. Have an ongoing legal case with them which they are barely responding to. Managers appear to come and go whether it’s Mr Crank or his predecessor, none of them take any accountability and are purposefully obstructive (with a smile on their face of course).. Stay clear and look elsewhere as if you have a problem you’re on your own!

I recently bought a 2020 Toyota Prius from HPL Motors and had a really positive experience. The whole process was smooth and stress-free from start to finish, and the team were friendly, professional, and never pushy. The car was exactly as described—clean, well prepared, and in excellent condition—and they took the time to answer all my questions and make sure I was happy before driving away. You can tell they care about customer service and not just making a sale. I’d definitely recommend HPL to anyone looking for a quality used car

90 mile round trip to be told car not ready and cannot be driven away, this was after a call this morning to double check, absolute waste of my time and money driving here, be warned they tell you one thing and do not commit

Stockport branch Got a car off hpl great car but till waiting on the cash back side off things two come back two me email who I got the car off about it no reply rang them up someone said they would get back two me till waiting so the after sales help is shit so far

I bought a car yesterday and the whole experience was excellent, start to finish. Daniel who was my sales guy was so helpful and great communication throughout. Very knowledgeable and I am so pleased with the car. I can definitely recommend and would return in the future if I needed to buy another car. Thank you Beverley

I have recently bought a new car at the oldham branch with Adrian. The process from start to finish was very smooth and nothing was too much trouble for him. I was kept well informed and was so happy with my car when I collected it. Adrian is a fabulous salesman and I would highly recommend him and HPL Motors as a whole.
