I don't often leave reviews but, almost 3 months later, I am still over the moon with the level of service I received from HS Legal when purchasing my new home.

Although I never actually spoke to anyone in the team, they were always available via email, extremely prompt in responding, kept me up to date and answered all of my many questions without fuss. I even received responses in the evenings and over the weekend when needed.

I honestly cannot fault them and am so grateful they made such a stressful time that much smoother for me!

I would not hesitate to recommend Jawad Mahmood and the team!

Always responded to communication promptly and kept us informed of any developments.
Made good effort to chase other party solicitors when progress was slow.
Polite in all correspondence and provided clear summaries so that processes could be easily understood.

HS Legal Solicitors required constant client oversight to prevent major legal and financial mistakes during my property purchase.
Key Issues:
• Failed to obtain garage documentation, then omitted it from transfer forms, making it twice on the same document (would have lost garage ownership I guess)
• Misunderstood LISA funds usage (could have cost penalties)
• Incorrect completion statement requiring extra £999 the evening before completion (in my world view - the funds should be sorted much earlier than the very last evening before completion)
• Poor communication - ignored questions, no fund receipt confirmations
• Client not kept up to date with communications happening with the seller
• Reactive service - I had to catch their errors repeatedly
• Required supervisor escalation to get basic professional response
• Post completion there was fixtures missing, legally supposed to remain, the solicitors needed days of discussion to message the seller’s solicitor, and were completely unwilling to do anything, instead of them explaining me what the process would look like - I had to explain to them
• Post-registration, I had to chase for the completion documents myself - registered 3rd June, I messaged on the 8th (post working hours though), received documents on the 9th (fairly quick, to be fair). I believe I shouldn’t chase them for that!
The transaction only completed successfully because I reviewed their work and corrected their mistakes. You shouldn't need to do your solicitor's job for them.

To be fair though - the whatsapp contact was responding quickly (however it was odd contacting on messenger app for such matters), and it HEAVILY depends who exactly is working on the case, as there seems to be a whole team (based on different speach styles and profesionalism levels I've seen), so I've seen decent responses, unfortunately it was rare.

the communication was absolutely brilliant, every email acknowledged and answered properly, quickly and they nagged the people in the chain. what a very good experience! right at the end when everything looked so positive the final money took a long time to come across - oh no! I thought i'm about to find out their weak spot. Not a bit of it, they followed through, reassured and yes the money arrived. What a wonderful experience - I have chosen to use the Conveyancing Index - and their stable of conveyancers three times (two sales, one purchase) and I have found all three experiences excellent but HS Legal was by far the best for consistent communications and service

We've bought and sold a few houses over the years and always struggled to get hold of the solicitors, with emails going ignored and progress always being slow! That was until we met HS Legal. Jawad and his team are excellent, turning queries around in hours and even working on Saturdays!!! 120% recommend them!

I was very unsure about buying and selling property using an online solicitor, as I can just about get by with computers and laptops, the first week was a bit daunting so many emails in a short space of times, but any questions I had were clearly answered and it got easier when it came to completion and looking back over the time spent I would do it again if I was younger and wanted a change.
HS Legal Solicitors came with a very competitive price and their emails were always very polite which helped to ease my way through the whole process.

I cannot thank hs legal for a smooth and very delicate road for their sincere patience for their expertese in the sale of my family home of 54 years it was a daunting experience for me but this company took away that dread of all of that so on it all the time constantly asking questions if im happy with the way things are going,constantly pushing for answers and timeframes from buyers solicitors , sending me emails of the whole process as it was progressing absolutely pricess these guys are i would so much recomend this company so much so that im using them again to purchase a property and their expertese is fantastic getting emails at 20.00 is brilliant just what you want from your solicitor,you can get hold of these guys not just 9 to 5 thank you so much for your help it wasnt easy may i say being messed about from the other buyers but hs legal solicitors took away all that dread and fear when u think about all that hassel thank you so much jawad and your team

The communication is good and they always acknowledge receipt of your emails.

I found the process quite difficult but was guided through it successfully and with much patience My emails were always answered quickly so I can only recommend HS Legal

1 Star – Completely Unprofessional, Extreme Delays, and Zero Communication
​I strongly advise against using HS Legal Solicitors (specifically JM).
​Communication was a nightmare throughout the entire process. He consistently ignored emails for days, declined my phone calls, and even switched off his mobile phone entirely when I tried to reach him for urgent updates.
​My offer on the property was accepted in late March, and I was assured that completion would take place by late May or mid-June. Instead, it was dragged out until July 31st, leaving me stranded and forcing me to pay out-of-pocket for two weeks in a hotel.
​To make matters worse, in mid-September, when I contacted the management agency for permission to let the property, I was shocked to discover that completion formalities were STILL not finalized. Due to outstanding documents (Deed of Covenant) and unpaid fees (£500+) caused by his incompetence, the management company refuses to recognize me as the owner and has blocked me from renting the flat out.
​Because of this ongoing negligence, I am now losing £200 every single week in rental income. Shocking lack of professionalism, zero accountability, and complete disregard for the client. Avoid at all costs.
