They are OK. Just very expensive and increase fees often. You are also not able to change any credit card info on their site. Have to give over phone which I am not comfortable with. So its a pain to try and pay bill every month. I don't live in town anymore so can't go in person.

I am writing this complaint because I have 115 comic books stolen out of storage and they haven't done anything to find out what happened to my book.I had book sitting in there since 2013 through 2019. when I found out my books was missing, I called the office of istorage On 8 Mile and Gratiot ,All I can say was” call the police” they are responsible for the 115 books missing when I put comic books in their storage facility. it was guaranteed that my items would be protected in there and it wasn't. if you are reading this I want answers with a hundred and fifteen books that came up missing.

I received an increase for my unit in…
I received an increase for my unit in Feb., and then in March, I received a card stating that due to COVID-19, the increase would not take place. I checked my account and noticed the increase was still attached to my account. I contacted the office to see why it was not restored to the previous amount. I received a call from Dawn and was told that there was a lag time and that the rate would be adjusted to pre-COVID 19. Give it a week and then check the account. I checked the account this week, and it has not been reinstated to the earlier charge. I reached out to IStorage and Dawn to find out when the higher cost is restored. The response I received was this: On 2/27, you received a card stating a rent increase. On 3/24, another card was sent stating a reduction of $2. On 4/9, another card was sent confirming the 3/24 rate. Periodically rate increases do occur. Unfortunately, I was unable to keep your rate as per our conversation, But I spoke with my superiors in regards to your account. It was able to get it decreased by $6. Your account has been updated to reflect the new rate increase.

The pre-COVID-19 rate was not honored. I received a $6 rate increased. Why would you take the time to send me the rate reinstatement card when the price was increased. Unethical business practices!

I am a cash paying customer of 8+ years with istorage. payment due date is the 1st of every month with a so called 5 day grace period to pay without late fees so they say. I have been sick with flu or this corona virus? started around 3/30/2020 My SS check does not come till the 3rd of every month and money is tight. I called the istorage place I use to inform them of my illness and being quarantined that I will be mailing them the payment his month. I was told they are not waiving late fees and it will be considered late if not received by 5:00pm Saturday 4/4/20202. So the 5 day grace period does not apply to cash paying customers. I was told someone has to post it and no one is there from 5pm Saturday till Monday morning. I am done with istorage and their so called 5 day grace period. I found another storage business closer to home and $20.00 cheaper for same size unit. bye bye istorage as soon as I am able and over flu or virus. This customer of 8+ years is gone and will never return.

Management problems at corporate level. I waited three weeks for a response from District Manager Jim Ali to eliminate squirrel infestation in my locker and received no response. No way was I willing to continue renting a locker for $143 per month so squirrels chew through the ceiling and chew up, urinate on and defecate on my files. I have 300 boxes of files and clothes and household supplies. I had to re-box and throw out two dozen boxes. The contents of three were destroyed. I have over 13,000 pounds of materials in the locker. The manager, Harold, suggested moving to another locker away from the trees. It would take me a week to hand truck four boxes at a time with a dolly over 100 yards at my inconvenience. Not a realistic solution.
Corporate does not care about their customers. So, I moved out at the end of December to another storage company 8 miles away and now pay $50 a month less for a larger locker.
There is absolutely no excuse for this.

I've been using this unit for almost 3 years . Never had any problems until istorage bought out the previous owners . They have raised my rent twice in the last 6 months, cut my lock and charged me 45 dollars to do it twice . Then i have to replace it plus other fees without any notice until after they have done this . This is the worst customer service I've ever experienced !!! Would say to stay away form anything to do with them. Unless u like being taken advantage of when you are down on your luck!
