I swear I wish they had negative Stars…

I swear I wish they had negative Stars they would get 5 of them they used to be Simply Self Storage in Forest Park I try to pay my bill for 4 days online and couldn't because they got changed over to istorage which I didn't know that obviously at that point I was late I called istorage talk to a woman and she assured me I wasn't going to be charged any late fees I went in the very next day and pay my regular payment and today I go to make my payment they charge me the late fees do not waste your time or your money their fees go up every couple months they nickel and dime you for everything the gates don't even work so anybody can get in till the facility and then the concrete is all broken up they need to take some of that money that they're ripping people off with and get their concrete fixed

iStorage review

We have rented at the Rio Grande, NJ location for 18 months and found the facility clean, well managed and maintained. The staff is excellent.
From our first encounter with Candice and John, they were professional, knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. They weren't just accommodating they showed us the best most practical way to utilize our storage experience and advise on products needed to maintain our unit. Candice is not your representative.... she is the perfect storage advisor personified.

Beware! Customers since 2014

I have been a customer since 2014, long before iStorage came and took over at the Burlington Mitchell Location in NJ. The property manager Kyrie, and District Manager Michelle are denying claims on my unit that is filled with mouse poop. Many things ruined and can never be used again because of the mouse feces and urine. For those of you that are not aware rodent poop can cause illness and even death. They are claiming there is no damage? I have been paying there insurance since 2014. It has recently been brought to my attention that istorage does not even have a claims department anymore? Apparently now there DMs are insurance specialists. Something is not right and I can not seem to get any call back. I tried to send the claims department an email asking for an appeal and got a response from Keyrie the property manager saying that I am being terminated form the property because of "conflict of interest". This leaves me only 15 days to move my things? He knew my whole family, my whole family stored their, loyal paying customers since before me. Even my father before he passed who was a great man. Great company.

That's an expensive parking job..

That's an expensive parking job... In looking for a secure place for the car for the few months I've been planning to get myself out of the country to get my teeth rebuilt, I found the Oroville 5th Ave spot, on the way from my points north to south- online with a great starter deal. I called and got Tim, who was as together as I could hope, and set up a spot. I ran the car in on 4/27, got settled by a personable young lady named Ryan (forgive spelling if awry; must get that sorted now too), and zipped into the spot, then off on my way. The next day, while in the SF Bay Area awaiting the next day's flight, she called me in the early afternoon to say that she hadn't told me at the time, but my car was parked over some alarm line, and asked if I could move it. I said that this was a very inconvenient time at which to be apprised of this, while I had been in Oroville all night up the road from the place at the restaurant and would lose my trip to turn around and go back now, but rather than cause some malfunction of their security system, I could go- but this would be a very costly oversight as a result, while I needed to assure the security of my only car, to which I needed to return after the trip and use to get on with life here. I heard that there was some alert in the office as to the perimeter's breach; could this not have had someone come out to the space while I was parking, instead of waiting a day when I was already on my travel route? She said "So you'll be here in a couple of days?"- which I did, going back to Oroville the Tuesday after and removing my car. The cost for this absolute waste of time was the airline penalty ($450; it was supposed to be non-refundable but I got another agent who got at least a little back), the travel insurance bundled with that booking, the wasted round trip on Amtrak, a visa that'll either run out or need an extension, the past two weeks of my life, the difference to a new booking/insurance/fruitful connecting transit- and, as of this afternoon, a broken tooth which would be getting addressed by now has split vertically and is causing substantial pain as it cuts into the gum below the line. A couple of days back, Tim was good enough to call and say he'd noticed my car gone, and would I like to vacate the space. I'm well out of there, and now must address compensation for my loss and the exacerbated issue which would have been precluded had I been notified at the time of some limit to the space within the fence line. Having had it together to do so would have saved me a lot of trouble, money and now pain which I'd been saving to prevent with this trip while not tied to a job that wouldn't allow my travel (and not pay for what I planned anyway; this is on savings that are not being replenished as I lose time). Trustpilot's star definition of "unreasonable and rude conduct" doesn't apply at all- these two folks are very pleasant to deal with, but the overall experience of having chosen this site at this time has created an expensive consequence of an operational oversight for which I am forced to pursue redress. I had it timed to avoid peak fares to Viet-Nam; now they're going up, and it's all just going to be more costly the longer it takes to remedy. Sorry, I like these folks- but the cost of that little slip-up is already substantial. I'd like iStorage to get me back on my travel agenda regardless of what it costs them now, as it's already standing to cost me more than I can afford, if I am to do it at all. Wanna pay for my future? Then make this good right now, and thanks.

If you value your storage items like we do as a current customer, DO NOT STORE THEM AT THIS LOCATION AT 5110 Hillsdale Circle, El Dorado Hills, CA 95762. They have had several break-in's and all the units are not secure with a proper cover at the top of the units. They have them all covered with a net that is easily removed, and this facility does not have proper security or coverage. Yes, it becomes your problem and your loss. On top of it, they keep raising our rates every year!!! The location is fairly remote so no wonder theft is easy! Yes, we will be moving to a place that can really secure the units and not have open tops for anyone to climb above and drop right in. DO NOT TRUST YOUR ITEMS TO THIS COMPANY WITH THIS TYPE OF LAYOUT.

Couldn't Care Less About Customers

We rented two climate controlled units for five months with the reasonable expectation that since we were paying for climate control we would receive that. We selected this facility because we knew our belongings would be stored during hurricane season and they are located several miles away from the water. We needn't have worried about the hurricane which happened. I called the day after to see if they received any water and was assured they were "high and dry"...no water. When the movers moved us they said one of our units was "like a sauna" and they could barely stand to be in it. Sure enough we lost two king mattress sets, and our clothes, linens, etc. were growing thick mold. Boxes were collapsed from obviously standing water. There was no water damage from the hurricane miles away from the river and Gulf. This occurred from a malfunction in their system. We were denied our claim. Our furniture, clothes and linens that I tried to salvage still reeked of mold no matter how many times I washed them. They were not usable so they have been trashed. The contract alludes to mold, but who would reasonably expect mold to happen in a climate controlled environment. I would NEVER recommend these shady people. Our experience with them cost us thousands of dollars and they haven't offered to even refund a nickel. Their insurance is useless and so are they.

price way to high,

we come there every third month just to store our jeep for about 28 days usually , come on now really 220.00 and a 25.00 amazon gift card oh by the way we have never received. Personally i think thats outrageous for regular customers, simply storing a jeep.

Great!

My experience renting from iStorage has been great. The site manager helped me pick out the right size space for my needs and explained everything thoroughly. I also like having the monthly cost taken right out of my bank account.

End of day

I completed my rental paperwork on a hot day in late afternoon. The manager gave me the assistance I needed with a simple but thorough application process and clear directions of how to enter and operate the iStorage unit. She was efficient and friendly to us as customers. I was glad to have chosen this company for 24/7 storage needs.

Efficient, professional and nice!

Setting up my rental only took a few minutes over the phone. When I arrived at the storage site, they were already expecting me and addressed me by name and welcomed me. It took less than 10 minutes to do all the paperwork needed and walk to my unit to place my lock on it.

Very informative and professional stuff

From the initial phone call to a manager called Alexandria and to the professional manner of Ann at the facility, it was all done in 2 hours and handled flawlessly.I will recommend this place on everyone in need of a storage facility
