Grange Superior Closeboard Fence Panels

Bought Grange Superior Closeboard 5ft high fence panels a year ago from Jewsons to renew my boundary. Very disappointed. One year on and the every panel has warped slats, and some split. The fixings to the battens aren't up to standard. Just to be clear these have all been treated with a quality uhv protective paint as well.

Hiring process is outdated

Hiring process is outdated, relies on phone calls and it's basically impossible to get hold of the team (Leighton Buzzard brach at least). I had to call the branch multiple times to confirm my hire, even after confirming on the phone there is no email confirmation or anything similar. Also, when collecting the tool, this may not happen on the day your hire finish (they allow 48h to do this apparently) but I was not informed and now I have no storage space for other stuff that is being delivered... Overall really bad experience with them

unwanted pallets

I had some slabs, cement and sand delivered to my home from my local Jewsons in Kilmarnock, there wasnt a great amount but it came on 2 pallets. the driver said that they had put it on 2 pallets as one of them was kind of risky. I phoned the local branch where I had ordered the stuff about 2 weeks later to say to them to pick up the pallets as they had been emptied. the guy on the phone said that they dont take anything to do with them and it would be up to me to get rid of them. years ago they would have been glad of them.

Don’t waste your time making an online…

Don’t waste your time making an online order with Jewson!
Made an online order for a ‘click and collect’, received confirmation emails that items are ready for collection, travel to the store, be informed that the items are not in stock. Who on earth is checking and approving online orders?!
The staff also informed me that this incident happens all the time with online orders. Not good Jewson.
I am very disappointed in the Jewson online service. I will be using a different supplier in future.

Excellent Customer Service

I don't very often leave reviews, unless an exceptional service and this is what I got from the Tool Hire Manager, Ben, at Bridgwater. After what can only be described as a less than satisfactory experience with an online order, Ben took control and sorted. If you wish to order any equipment in the Taunton/Bridgwater area, then go to the Bridgwater branch for a first class service, so rarely found these days.

Delivery driver Andrew!

Delivery driver Andrew delivered my slabs today.
All slabs absolutely perfect with no damage.
Despite the fact I wasn’t home, we spoke over the doorbell and he was happy to put the slabs wherever I wanted them.
Smile on his face and did his job perfectly.

This is the worst possible supplier you…

This is the worst possible supplier you can ever get . Everything comes late , short of staff , terrible quality .
If you create an account with them they will send you invoices after 2 months and than charge you fee for it , scammers more or less .

Great Delivery from Mark

Mark at Cardiff Jewson delivered 7 large bags of gravel over two trips.

He was super helpful each time and helped me discuss options on placement and simply was kind and outgoing! Thanks Mark!

Jewson in Keynsham terrible

I went to the Jewson in Keynsham Bristol, it’s the first time I’ve ever been in a Jewson and will definitely be my last. Worst builders merchants I’ve ever been to, staff are ridiculously rude and their prices are stupidly high. Try anywhere else but here

Simon was extremely helpful , with technical advice .etc
Placed the order @ 16.00 for delivery , the Driver was outside @ 9.00am the following morning with all the items , THANK YOU < Fully recommended

Let down by tool hire

I hired a flatbed tile cutter from Jewson hire. I went into the branch to be told that I had to hire it by phone. I arranged the hire by phone and received a confirmation WhatsApp message to say it would be delivered on Friday afternoon

At Friday lunch time I rang up to ask what time it would be delivered only to be told that they didn't have a blade for it. If they had told me this the day before I could have arranged an alternative hire

I would have hoped they would have kept spare blades. They certainly should have let me know beforehand that it would not be delivered without me having to call them on the day to find out

Very poor service. Very poor communication

Tool hire service from the Vicotorian Age

I put in a tool hire reservation on a Tuesday for a scaffold tower for Friday. The quote online was £129 inc VAT. I had to go to a branch on Thursday to chase the reservation confirmation. On Friday, I had to request an apology. The price I was given on receipt of the tower was £178 inc VAT. Then they didn't turn up as arranged to collect it. Go elsewhere where the service is better, and they have automated customer service systems.

Poor communication/customer service

Poor communication/customer service. Made online order on 11th January for floor sander (Leatherhead, Surrey) to be collected in store on 13th January. At 4.30pm on 12th January received phone call from Jewsons informing me they did not have one in stock. Too late to order from anywhere else. Job now delayed by several days.

Jewson Rugby

Jewson Rugby are excellent. The staff are always super helpful and nothing is ever too much trouble. I’ve now transferred all my business to them and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

Fantastic customer service

I have been to Jewsons twice in the last 3 days. Both times I have been met with outstanding customer service from the yard lads through to the desk sales lads. The product knowledge and what they keep limelite materials is great. I can honestly say don't care if it costs me a bit more on some items. I will stick with that branch and thank you so much.

A really good branch in Portree on the Isle of skye, outstanding customers service, great delivery service and a good selection of products. The lady manager Tracy couldn't be more helpful, you really feel welcome

I needed slabs! How hard can it be?

I called in at Jewsons looking for some slabes for my garden.
When I entered looking a bit lost, (it's not my natural environment)! I was asked if I needed help, I was guided outside where I was offered more help and advice. Everyone was so friendly, they loaded my car and befriended my dog. I would definitely go back.
They were also cheaper than the other places I had visited, where I received no help.

Help when needed !

Today, 29/10/2025 I was driving past Jewson in Cheadle Hulme, and suddenly got a puncture in my rear tyre( nothing to do with Jewson) I opened the boot of my car to get out the spare wheel and tools in order to change the flat tyre, when a young lady came out of Jewson and said they would help me change the wheel.
they brought out cones and sent over Andy to change my wheel for me. SUPERB help when needed most. Customer Service above and beyond !!
My wife and I would like to thank ANDY and the young lady (sorry do not know her name) for their very welcome help and assistance.
Congratulations to Jewson, your staff are superb! it is nice to know that there are still companies with a sense of customer service. Many thanks.
