The absolute worst. Mistakes, bad math, corrupt billing and late on filing taxes bc agent was “sick” five days before the deadline. No offered resolution, no quality control, no one cared other than to tell me if I cancel, I lose all the data from last year (that I corrected). BAD MODEL. Do not recommend

I’m happy to share that I am very pleased with Heard! I was skeptical at first after reading comments about pricing and slow response time. However, my experience has been nothing but positive. The bookkeeping organization is invaluable, and they make tax filing a breeze. They provide you with a dashboard of all of your financial data tracking. They also offer periodic brief Zoom sessions, where you can ask questions in real time. It is definitely a time saver and I highly recommend them!

Heard services give me so much stress relief. The platform is intuitive and easy to navigate, the service team is really responsive with any questions and tax time is a breeze.

I really appreciate how much Heard has simplified the accounting and tax process for my solo practice and guided me in making more sound decisions for my practice.

I have had a terrible time with Heard this tax season. I submitted all required tax documents and information before Heard's deadline in February. Despite this, my corporate taxes are now over a month late with no submission date in sight. As a result, my personal taxes will also miss the deadline and I may face penalties.

Heard's support staff has done nothing but pass along messages with no actual resolution. Apparently, they hire contractors to do your taxes rather than handling them in-house. The tax preparer can't even communicate with your bookkeeping team directly. I have had to be the go-between to get information from the bookkeeping team to the tax preparer, a process that takes several days and far too much of my time to manage.

Throughout this ordeal, I have had to repeatedly chase my assigned tax preparer to keep the process moving. He has gone silent for days and even weeks at a time and has broken his promised completion timelines repeatedly. He has been telling me "I'm almost done with your tax return" for a month now.

When I raised concerns about late fees and penalties caused entirely by their contractor's delays, Heard informed me that "tax liabilities remain the responsibility of the taxpayer." They also openly admitted they cannot guarantee my personal return will be filed by the deadline and are offering no solutions to the problems they have created.

I hired a bookkeeper to save time and make tax season less stressful, but Heard has done the exact opposite for me. This is my most stressful tax year to date.

If you are a busy professional who cannot afford to babysit your accountant through tax season, do not use this service. I submitted all of my documentation early, have had to check in on my tax preparer daily to keep things moving, and am now facing potential tax penalties due to their delays.

I've used Heard for 2 years so far and I really love it! There's a ton of value in all that they offer and having time back in my schedule that I'm not spending on bookkeeping and taxes is priceless. I have a financial advisor, someone who does my quarterly and annual taxes (both business and personal), and lots of automated tools and guides to visualize how my practice is doing. So you're getting a team of people who work on every aspect of your finances. I've met with financial advisors who charge more than Heard does for just ONE of the above services, so I really feel like I'm getting my money's worth and then some!

BEWARE. This is the worst financial mistake I've made in decades. I've paid them $2,000 over the course of this past year and now they will not even actually file my taxes for me because my annual renewal came due a few weeks ago and I have informed them I will not renew. They won't even file the extension request unless I do the accounting of estimating my income - even though they have all the documents to do this and THEY ARE THE ACCOUNTANTS - NOT ME. The only way they will finish what I've already paid them to do is if I continue on at least the monthly plan of $199 a month. I can't get an answer as to how many months that would be.

FYI, I paid $500 to my 2024 tax preparer firm, all in. So I've paid Heard 4 times that and now they will not complete the job. I am contacting an attorney to see if this is even legal.

I cannot get timely answers through the messaging system and there is no option to speak to anyone by phone (although there was certainly ample phone availability from their sales staff when they were selling this to me). Once they get your money, they do not care about you. RUN.

Using Heard for my bookkeeping and taxes makes things so easy and relieves a huge stressor for me. I always know where my business stands financially plus I know that when tax time rolls around, everything is already gathered and ready to go. Totally worth it!

I switched from my CPA who placed me last on his list to Heard, where it's a do-it-yourself process for everything from establishing your corporation to payroll to accounting and tax decisions, none of which I understand and all of which are addressed by dozens of different people via email, articles, video tutorials, and annoying AI chatbots. You get so little help it's mind boggling.

It has been relatively "meh." There is close to no personalized attention. I get it, I have joined a big accounting firm, and big firms don't do personalized. However, this tax year was a pretty awful experience. I had questions and they didnt have the staff to answer them - making tax returns late or right down to the wire. They don't have the staff to handle their current clients during tax season, but I sure do keep getting their marketing emails targeting new clients, and offering if they join to do their taxes, when your current client, me, can't even get an answer for my taxes, causing my return to need to be amended. Now here I sit, having turned all my documents in by their Feb deadlines and no draft copy of my personal return yet either. I hope that their tax preparer doesn't have any questions for me because we won't be able to get an answer for two weeks, possibly causing me to file late and incur penalties.

Heard makes all things money and taxes easy. Everyone is very kind, they respond quickly, and are there to help with whatever need or random question I throw their way. It gives me a huge sense of relief and ease knowing they'll take care of everything for me. Would highly recommend.!

Working with Heard has been an incredible, inspiring, and straightforward experience. At every stage of the process, I was able to engage without any setbacks. If I ever had a question, regardless of how insipid or naive it was, Heard reps always responded respectfully and with the proper information. I was always directed to more resources in their community group. I am 50 years old. I have never done well with finances. I am a sole proprietor LLC, and for the first time in my life, my taxes are complete, submitted, and I have already received my return. I have also already paid for my estimated taxes due in April, which is weeks before the deadline. I cannot begin to express the freedom and pride I feel for accomplishing this, thanks to Heard. Before them, I worked with a bookkeeper and a CPA who would not take the time to educate me or guide me into making decisions. They wanted me to direct them, but what did I know? Nothing. In the end, it was a waste of money and an expensive learning experience. This is why when Heard came along, I took my time to investigate them, ask questions, I think I met with them a couple of times, and then made my decision to move forward last June. It paid off. Earnestly, I highly recommend them.

I have been with Heard since opening my private practice in 2022. I love that I can count on them to answer any questions I have about taxes or deductions. Filing quarterly and annual taxes is simple. I am thankful to have the experts at Heard walking me through and making even painful parts such as paying taxes less painful.

I gave HEARD Accounting the benefit of the doubt for two years, and it was a costly mistake. Despite their claims of being experts in S-Corp tax structures, they clearly do not understand them. After two full years, I have yet to receive balanced books or any final financial products.

Last year, they promised to rectify their errors, yet this year’s performance was even worse. I ultimately had to hire and pay two private accountants out of my own pocket just to clean up the mess HEARD created. My initial point of contact, Richard Walton in Newport Beach, disappeared entirely once the issues began, leaving me with no results and no accountability. If you are looking for reliable accounting for your business, look elsewhere.

We are a relatively new private practice that needed a bookkeeping and tax solution that also understood the nuances of a telehealth business. Heard has met and exceeded all of our needs and I feel comfortable and confident that we made the right choice. I would recommend them highly especially now that we have made it through our first tax season with them.

HORRIBLE, horrible, horrible. Biggest regret I have in my 10 years of self-employment. This service is way overpriced for what you get. I decided to splurge because I was hoping to get more service and support. That did not happen. The opposite happened. For a month of their service, Quicken can do the same thing of auto categorizing regular charges. The service has become increasingly unresponsive, with wait times for a reply now stretching to days and weeks. This has forced me to send multiple follow-up messages just to receive a basic response, which is unsustainable for any small business owner who relies on timely financial data. I am currently paying for a service that I am essentially performing myself with an auto categorization bot.
I have never paid more taxes than I paid with Heard. Their bookkeepers did not listen to my feedback, and would change my transaction categories back even after I edited them to what they were. I did a lot of math when I started using this platform to see if it would be worth the cost, and I'm very disappointed to say this was a massive waste of money. I would highly dissuade anyone from using this platform. I have used CPAs, tax preparation companies that work specifically with small businesses, and even H&R block. The personal services I received from each of those different companies were 20x more personal and helpful. With Heard, you have to figure out which documents to upload and you fill out your own questionnaire WITHOUT having a foundational conversation with your tax preparer. They don’t try to understand you or your business or what your personalized situation is. It is the furthest from a personalized service as you can get. You are given a chat box but the preparer is rarely online. I needed a basic form and she didn’t know what it was, so I just googled the purpose of the form and sent it to her. Apparently, that was too difficult for her to do. Also, every tax preparer has always provided to file my Franchise and Excise Tax form. But I was informed that Heard does not provide that. What? So, I’ve again had to do more work. Most other tax preparers would not file this unless they also did my 1040, so Heard put me in a position to have to learn how to do it myself and file my own with the state. Unbelievable.
You don’t get a person assigned to your account that you can deal with. It’s just basically signing up with an automated machine with no personal involvement or personalized business support.
You also can’t get out of the contract. You can’t cancel. You can’t get a refund. You can’t stop the service. I am biding my time until I get out of this AWFUL company. I would NOT recommend this service and wish I could get out of it.
