I agree with the others that were scammed. The main problem is that once you accept their terms all the freelancer has to do is log the hours and you are automatically charged, you have no review process to make sure actual work was done. I stopped it after two weeks of getting billed and seeing no results and filed a dispute. Their answer was “We reviewed your freelancer's Work Diary and determined that there are no hours which were not logged in accordance with the Hourly Payment Protection.” So in effect as long as the freelancer logs the hours in they get paid. I'm sure there are honest freelancers on this site, but the site does not protect the user at all, it is totally biased in favor of the freelancer. I originally posted this job on Upwork which I had never had a problem with to this site so I feel I was scammed

Typical story: hire on Upwork, then the "talent" asks you to come here. I did, because the guy seemed (duh) trustworthy.
I never saw his face, but he was full of stories (from London but currently in Vienna because of the pandemic, blah blah).

Long story short, no work done after 2 weeks, some family excuse, then 19 hours charged on my credit card (almost USD500) and a dispute that was never (never will?) get answered.

Also, note that mostly (all?) of the 5* reviews on Trustpilot are from users with just 1 review. Coincidence? I don't think so!

It was a horrible experience hiring at coder in JoinToHire. A developer, I hired claimed that he was an experienced EDX developer on his JoinToHire profile. He said he charges $16 per hour and that he can finish the first xblock of the 4 Xblock in 3 days based on our contract. Meanwhile, he can only charge a maximum of 15 hours per week based on JoinToHire policy. So, in 3 days, The coder promised to finish the first of the 4 xblocks in 9 hours ie 3 days out of the 5 working days of the week.

After three days, I did not a received an Xblock and after 2 more days - no Xblock. Then JoinToHire charged my credit card $240 for a 15-hour billing with no Xblock to show from the coder.

I reached out to JoinToHire. But JoinToHire said that they cannot do anything because the developer claimed he worked for 15 hours in the log-in report. So my question is what do I get for 15 hours of work? I got no Xblock ? What do I get for paying $240?
I asked JoinToHire to show me the programming work made by the coder for 15 hours that I was billed for.

FranKly, JoinToHire does not check if indeed the developer was working on my project or another project for another client during those 15 hours. They also did not check on the terms of my contract with the coder which I posted on the JoinToHire platform.

I learned my lesson. JoinToHire is a bad platform to look for developers. Clients get screwed.

Meanwhile, I had better experience working on Upwork and Fiverr. . .

The support team is non-existent, so if you face any issue, deal with it by yourself. You have 14 days to complain before paying a freelancer, and you would receive a response within 5 business days. Well, they do not reply to a single email on time, so deal with it yourself. Best way to have a quick response? Facebook comments. They would get back to you in less than 1 day to kindly say "it is not our responsibility. Take another freelancer". Sounds funny right?

Basically, I've hired a developer to create a website. It had to be ready within 1 month and a half, and it has been now 3 months and I'm not having a website. The freelancer just added a non-working website to my account - so now I have a non-clickable website LIVE! What's the best? He does not reply.. same as Jointohire Team.

You will tell me, you maybe got a bad experience. Well the platform itself does not work. The hourly price used to be $14. 1,600 dollars later, once the deadline was reached, we agreed on a reduced price. Guess what? The platform totally cancel what you have previously paid, and just show what is happening in the new rate.

So if the freelancer worked 10 hours at $20 and one hour at $5 an hour, and you ask for a dispute for 20 hours, they will count it on a base of $5 regardless of the previous rate. So you are asking for $100 refund.

A shame! Never ever again.

As an alternative use the other one with the green logo ;) Way better, immediate response and no issue.

Website is a scam! They book random amounts from our credit card. The support is some off-shored center that has nothing to do with the operations and has no clue about anything.

Over USD 2k taken with no work to use

I hired a web developer that was awful and after 3 months there still was no functioning part of the website. I filed a dispute and have heard nothing. I paused the contract because the freelancer was tracking tons of hours with nothing to show from it. The freelancer could not even migrate his work to my domain name so I literally got zero work. Customer service is awful. It has been months and the dispute is still not resolved. DO NOT USE JOIN TO HIRE!

I have been working as a freelancer for JTH platform since 2019. The vital thing I would like to admit about my experience, is that all the issues and cases I had with clients were resolved by taking in consideration the interests of clients and not the freelancers’. I mean, there was a project I was working on for weeks, but in the end it comes out that the client wanted something else and so he is disappointed and wants a full refund. He wrote to the customer support and they resolved the case by completing the refund and so I got absolutely nothing for my worked hours and effort. They just do everything to protect the interests of clients and not thinking about the freelancers. That’s why I am truly disappointed , you shouldn’t work as a freelancer here ...

I hired a contractor through the JointoHire.com website to work on a software development project. The contractor stopped communicating with me and didn't deliver anything. I reached out to the site to tell them what happened. I explained that the contractor disappeared and I wanted to confirm he couldn't add manual time to his contract since he hadn't tracked any time using their tracking software. They assured me they disabled the capability to add manual hours. I ended the contract with 0 hours tracked and removed my credit card from their website. Days later, I got a charge for $340 on my credit card. I reached out multiple times to request a refund. I filed a dispute through their website which has been ignored to date. The best JointoHire.com would offer me was credit on their platform to make up for my poor experience. So basically, I paid despite not getting anything delivered even after I confirmed with them that I wouldn't be billed. They also keep your credit card information on file even after you remove it from their website, which I'm sure is not legal either. Their customer service takes 3 days just to respond to each message. I can't recommend enough that you use a more reputable platform for your outsourcing needs. This one is designed to rip you off.

I am a freelance web developer with almost a year of working experience in this field. I wanted to become a part of Jointohire team as a front end developer but actually I found out that was impossible for me. The questions they ask during the organized interviews are too difficult for not a proficient specialist. I tried to do my best but I wasn’t able to pass the interview and I was sl disappointed they didn’t give a chance to a beginner.....

they promised a refund time and time again but it's all a load of rubbish. I've chased them numerous occasions, they've given me timescales on the refunds and then just blame it on the freelancers, which I am sure don't exist.

I was contacted by a freelancer on Upwork who pushed me a lot into accepting the project on the Jointohire platform. I registered onto the website and uploaded my paypal details.

$2,100 later and a long list of "Almost done, need a bit more time" no code was ever delivered.

I filed a complaint through their web portal but that never went anywhere.
I ended up requesting a refund through paypal.

I wasted 10 weeks on my project dealing with these scammers.

reason was that developer has some technical issues

i believed, so i posted the same description on jointohire and got scammed

i paid 350eur

developer
- has made timesheet of 150eur
- didnt deliver anything
- didnt reply anymore

so i opened dispute,
- they didnt follow their rules and didnt match their deadlines
- they blocked my live chat support (so i had to contact them as anonymous without loggin in)
- it is 2 weeks and my dispute was still not accepted
- they dont answer my email
- i am afraid i wont see my money again

so
- i lost month of work
- i lost 350eur of money
- i lost trust for such websites

i see that jointohire wants to delete my review, as it affect their scum business

as there is no real owner it is hard to fill some police report to close them

I think most of the positive reviews on here are not true. I was contacted by a freelancer on Upwork who pushed me a lot into accepting the project on the Jointohire platform. I registered onto the website and uploaded my credit card details.
The platform seemed shady and the freelancer faked part of his portfolio work, so I decided not to proceed any further with projects with him.

20 days later, I receive a charge for 540 euro on my credit card - out of nowhere! Luckily the transaction was blocked by my bank who immediately froze my card. No trace of the charge on my account on the platform anyway.

Long story short: stay away from this scam!

Cancelled a contract but was still charged 800 USD fraudulently. Avoid this company and go to anywhere else instead.

This is what happened to me:

1. Find freelancer on Upwork
2. The freelancer tells you to go to jointohire because fees there are lower
3. Freelancer does a crap job. You end the contract and are happy it was only $75 you lost.
4. You remove your payment details from jointohire to avoid any further charges.
5. 1 month later you get $350 in unexplained charges. There is no trace of this in your jointohire account, just the sum missing from your bank account.
6. You try to inquire with them, but the only responses you get are "we're looking into this"
7. You search for employees on linkedin only to find out that this company has none.
8. Almost 3 months of "looking into it" later, nothing has been resolved, and the money is still missing.

Avoid at all cost.

Tried JoinToHire for the first and last time. Hired a freelancer through their site and they never delivered any work after the initial payment. All emails to the company for help went unanswered. Would never use them again and warn others to stay away.

Wait there is more... since I wrote this initial review they tried to charge my card again even though it was not for any specific work of project. I've since had to get a new card for company charges. Sad.

Fantastic. I went with someone in the UK to aid effective communication, (there are a lot of overseas offers made, which didn't suit me, but may suit others). The final delivery was fantastic, it's so easy, and payment isn't released until you are happy with deliverable. Will definitely use again.

Safe and easy to use platform. Please kindly don't believe the reviews here with 1 star. 90% of them are all spammers!

JTH is too much better than Upwork because guys at Upwork are all racist and they only support freelancer from America/USA ( Country well known for racism ) and don't give a sh** to outsiders. JTH support the new clients and freelancers in every way i.e., showing them in first spot in the searches!
