Going to Kataba is always a pleasure. It’s like going to a place of peace and calm, where I can view, hold, and feel the weight of the knives. I have bought multiple knives and always get good advice, opinions, and learn about the craftsmanship (that you invest in when you buy a knife). The shop also has a range of accessories to maintain, store and indulge in a bit of Japan.

Great knife & service.
Bought at 12.30pm and delivered the next day by 12 mid-day and not to take away anything from the beautiful knife that was delivered well packed and securely, I really should have said that first.
It is really refreshing to have good small companies that not only deliver what they advertise (in this case top quality knives) but also deliver on time and without fuss.

Fabulous little shop
Fabulous little shop. Tended to my Japanese knives amazingly, including a reprofile following some dings on the heel of a Funayuki. The advice and service was outstanding, and the price reasonable considering I have not found better in London.

Excellent Japanese knife specialists
The quality of service by Kataba is second to none, my Miyabi Gyutoh arrived extremely well packaged and the knife was restored to its original condition, it is now scalpel sharp with a very smooth edge in the Honbazuke tradition. I would highly recommend the services of Kataba to anyone who wish for their beloved Japanese knives to be restored to the highest possible standards that befits these amazing knives.
