The excluded my sister who does not live with me from my policy and when I noticed that, I didn't sign the Agreement as I was planning on contacting them regarding this. Kemper decides to take the matter into their own hands and adds her to the policy, bills an addition 6k dollars because they have no background driving history and listed her as a high risk driver to my policy!!! She has been driving for over 30 years with no accident or tickets but because they couldn't find info on her (?) they put her down as a new driver and high risk!! Can you believe that? So now they are basically charging me $1400+ for 20 days of having her "included" on my policy where she was originally listed as excluded!! Their form of communication is snail mail rather than a phone call to let me know that this was going to happen.
AIS is also at fault for adding her name to the application when they had no right to do that, even if it was to exclude her. She should not have been listed as that waives Permissive Use coverage!! There needs to be legal action taken against Kemper. They cannot make changes on an agreement that was never approved/signed. What they could do is say they will cancel the policy and refund the difference of what I paid in advance but to add someone and make assumptions on their driving history????

The adjusters are absolutely rude. Their uninsured driver hit me and they are acting like I am at fault. I ended up in the ER and they said I was overreacting. Absolutely unprofessional.

They have owed me $100 from a policy I cancelled almost 6 months ago. I've contacted them three times, supposedly each time the check was being mailed out. What a joke! A big waste of time. I'd rather pay money for a professional insurance company that doesn't waste my life away sitting on the phone dealing with their shenanigans.

Had been with kemper for over 5yrs and hadn't had to file a claim until a little over a year ago when a semi backed into me on an exit ramp. Have gotten nothing but the run around from them about this claim. Its been 13 months and it is still unresolved! They keep giving me a bunch of b.s about the semi insurance company has went under. Ok well i have uninsured and underinsured coverage but they insist they cant change the claim type. Then about a month ago I get an email stating in 30 days I need to find a different insurance company cause there no longer covering Indiana so now that they cancelled my policy thru no fault of mine. Since the cancellation of the policy I haven't been able to get anyone to respond back to me about my claim. Absolutely the worst insurance company on the market

Horrible. Purchased a non owners insurance policy. Had to change CC ON FILE. I called and gave my new CC. They cancelled my policy and reinstated in one foul swoop now trying to charge me SR22 fee and screw up my credit and ins record!! Can’t talk to a live agent after being on hold 30mins
The absolute worst insurance carrier…
The absolute worst insurance carrier ever. They tried scamming me and totaling my car when someone hit it. My field inspector, Nick Martinez, undervalued my car by $7,000 and lied to me about the damages I realized after taking it to a body shop. After threatening to get a lawyer involved, they sent me the money after 2 months of fighting back and forth. My claims lady, Kassandra Medina, didn’t answer my phone call once, i left voicemail everyday for 2 weeks and sent emails.
Worst Experience
I’ve totaled my car in a accident. First thing I did after start the claim was tell the insurance that I had a lot of aftermarket parts and I would like to take from vehicle and of course, replace with the original ones. They said ok. But as soon they did the first appraisal, they changed their mind. So I lost more then 5k. After that, they offered a value 10k less than my car market value and every time I asked for a new appraisal to raise up the car price, they make me wait a week. So I give up after two tries.
They settled up a adjuster who don’t even know about cars. They don’t answer emails or phone calls.
Long story short, it’s been 45 days and I still don’t get my car paid.
You've been warned!
I've been unfortunate enough to have had two experiences in one year with Kemper. One was when I was the insured and the second was when another party insured by Kemper ran into my wife's vehicle. Both times it's been an absolute NIGHTMARE dealing with claims. Both times it was a runaround and had all the markings of dealing with a really unscrupulous company. On my claim it took over 3 months to resolve what should have taken a couple of weeks. On both situations I've had to file complaints with the Texas Department of Insurance. Both body shops were amazingly helpful and patient but they both were flabbergasted as to how Kemper operates. If you're thinking of purchasing insurance with this company you've been warned.
