Council tax keep harrasement my team visual impairment service Lewisham sorted agreement to pay council increased and said I default no I have not all receipts from my bank they are incompetent or department Alexandra got me electronically bath seat rail steps removed then not much help in anything else and that's the visual impairment service des rose as been helping me but not as good or polite or experienced as the one who left mischelle Brazil she was perfect and extremely polite and respectful and responsible and good she left , Lewisham council as caused me to attempt suicidal tendencies and act out because of stress 😬 disgraceful service

Lewisham Council is full of corrupt ruthless thieving workers

It's like every government discriminates against Muslims especially this ruthless horrible council , Lewisham.
They have accessed my place several times without permission, stalking , harrasing me and the caretaker and Ruth have been sending the neighbors who are their friends to antagonize and harrass me. They been stealing my property and documents they even stole the inside of the door handle so if I lock from inside I won't be able to get out. Like they were trying to get ne locked in the room , my sons thob and mine was stolen.

They have been stealing my letters , the government indulge in so much criminal activity and harrass tenants that they don't like and try extortion my rent by raising only my rent over 50%, its all because i wanted to take them to court for a place that is unfit for human habitation for me and my son.

They put me and my son (he was 16) now 19, in a place that is fit for one person but give a person a big place with a seperate big kitchen because they discriminate and dont treat people equal. they breached both are human rights , equality act , etc even neglected duty of care and caused distress, impacting me and my son mentally and physically.

Council tax services are very bad I partly sighted and nothing but problems sorted now though but their freedom concession pass are useless 117 times uploaded and 77 messages 4 from my visual impairment service Lewisham council mischelle Brazil and Desmond rose 9 calls and 4 recorded delivery signed for letters from myself and citizens advice and rnib and my solicitor also local MP councillor office then they said hadn't had documents??? Really they signed for them it's will be on metro news interview and LBC radio and all global press next week if their stupid people their don't wake up

Even my doctors have emailed them and phoned them honestly their is more better people in the Ladywell and maydsley hospital than staff at Lewisham council

I have been a council tenant and have lived in my property for approximately 40 years. I am in credit with my rent and have been update with my utilities. Heating and water is included in the rent. My property is on the 11th floor of a tower block. About 2 years ago I begun getting demands for a gas bill for over £2000. Initially I ignored it as clearly gas is never available in a tower block for the obvious health and safety reasons. Despite me making contact and explaining to the company I did not have gas, I begun to get threatening letters and bailiffs coming to my flat. This went on for nearly 2 years, they would tell me the meter was in downstairs cupboard which I did not have. I was so stressed I begun to loose my hair. Finally a friend agreed to help me she spoke to a supervisor and asked her if she had a personal mobile phone next to her. She confirmed she did, I asked her to google my address and go to images, she did. My friend asked her if his tower block could have gas in it and suggested she share the image with her managers. My friend also told them if there was any further demands legal action would be taken for the alarm and distress they were causing me. I never heard back from the company not even an apology. A few weeks later I begun to receive letters demanding I was in debt it’s my electric. Since I pay by l payment meter this was impossible and infact I was in credit. I contacted the LONDON Borough of LEWISHAM -LEWISHAM HOMES. I was given the run around, firstly they do not take in person office visits. My housing officer Eleanor COX. I have been waiting for a call back from her since October 2025. I have called weekly and months each time I get though to a person called and each time I’m told she I will get back to me in no more than 2 days. Ms COX has NEVER called me, however an engineer Kevin Gayle turned up on 20th October 2025 saying the council had sent him. He located an off peak meter, the one linked my flat had not been updated but ever other flat in the tower block had. I have never had any communication from my housing officer of any meter changes. Kevin Gayle said e would send a report to his supervisor, which he did. Having spoken to a lady called Yvette in repairs she confirmed that the report had been received. She was at a lost to understand why no one had made contact with me in any event. She contacted the existing repairs team and told me that they would contact me in two days time. No one has ever contacted me from that department. As stated, I have a meter in my property which is linked to my usage in the flat, the off-peak meter is apparently for my water my hot water and heating which I pay £19.25 for and is included in my rent. It’s worth noting that I have never used the storage heaters over 20 years ago. The electric provider is EON and they insist that I owe them nearly £3000. I’ve spoken to countless people in EON and no one has been able to help me until very recently when I had contact with Graham. Graham has been the only person that has listened to me in the last two years and has identified that the meter is related to try housing department and as such they are responsible for any payments. He agreed to give me time to gain contact my housing department and ask them to speak directly to him as stated I have called attempted to send emails. I have even tried to present in person, but apparently this arrangement was suspended after COVID 19, and I’ve still not managed to speak to Miss Cox. I am extremely frustrated with this situation. I work away from home and it is very difficult to try and follow up and meet with anyone unless it’s on my days off given I am self-employed. I am taking to writing to social media and trust pilot in the hope that Eleanor Cox or somebody from Lewisham housing will be bothered to make contact with me. Their customer service is absolutely deplorable. There is no reason why this housing department is unable to see people in person their excuse for COVID-19 is no longer plausible.They are not for purpose. I also wish to pursue a complaint and raise concerns with the ombudsman given the length of time I’ve been trying to deal with this and I don’t even know how I can do this since nobody bothers to make contact with me. I cannot be the only person having such an horrendous experience with Lewisham housing.

Lewisham council tax has made my…

Lewisham council tax has made my physically unwell. They’ve made it impossible to get through to anyone by email and the people on the phone are completely unhelpful. I’ve been billed for council tax reduction overpayment and I’ve tried to call multiple times until they said they’d put a note on my account to say it’s being reviewed only to be charged extra. I’ve emailed as many people as I can but still can’t get through to the right people. I’ve now had a flare up. They keep sending me to different companies only for me to call other people and be directed back to them. The lack of support disgusts me. I’ve seen a few overcharges as well on the reviews which seems very suspicious. Not to mention you’ll be waiting on the phone for an hour to get through to someone only for the call to drop before someone picks up

Lewisham hospital better known as the butchers what a ghastly place this is been waiting 4 hours to see a gp and still waiting about to leave and go to a different borough where your not treated like cattle nobody has any idea of what’s going on when you will be see if ever the world’s worst hospital should of been closed down years

Most councils in the UK are terrible

Most councils in the UK are terrible. Thought Tower Hamlets was bad. Try Lewisham. They give you false information on council tax and will run your bill high.
Lazy environmental health team.
The government's throw money at these councils and never check on people.
But give these council staff pay rises.
They support rogue landlords bribes. Just look above the high streets the buildings are falling apart but due to good bribes the landlords and estate agents make money

Online nightmare

Terrible experience with the renewal process. After being approved, I tried to return to the site to pay — only to be met with a broken link. This issue persisted for days. I sent a screenshot to the provided email address, but it bounced back as undeliverable.

On another attempt, I completed payment validation through my banking app, but the screen went black and the transaction failed. I then called to pay over the phone, only to be charged more than the online rate. When I asked about the price difference, the consultant told me to email support. I did — with proof — and once again, the email bounced.

The entire process has been unreliable, opaque, and clearly not user-focused.

No hot water for 2 weeks

Smith and byford attended my property on behalf of lewisham council who managed to make it worse not better on the 20/09/2025 and said lewisham need to place the tank he broke the stop valve which now needs to be replaced but I'm left with no hot water at all in my flat so can't bath or wash here it's now 08/10/2025 and they keep saying it's down to the other company my toilet floor has sunk over a year ago I have to left my toilet up to stop it flushing I've got mould in the electric cupboard where I had a water leak council took photos but never been back to do the job. I need a inspector round see what needs doing and just fix it my flat now needs a lot of work doing at least finish some of the job been waiting 5 years for front door frame to be replaced council done half a job 5 years ago I would like that to be finished

Ugly and unjust!

Lewisham is probably among the ugliest London boroughs. But that’s not the reason for bad rating. It is what it is. But the ugly Lewisham council has sued a local, loved family restaurant for paperwork issues around planning permission for extractor fan (which by the way helps reduce odours and noise), for £2.5 million, and no less than to a criminal court (for alleged criminal profits). You can’t invent it! Because in an ugly Lewisham street, an extractor fan is the only thing that spoils the “beauty” of the “conservation” area, the family that served the community for over 20 years is facing bankruptcy. Pathetic. Unjust. Disastrous for community.

The incompetence is unbelievable

The phone line directs you to the website then cuts you off. The forms on the website all get totally ignored. Horrible incompetent council who couldn't care less about anything except making money.

No access to account

Ive Been trying to login to lewisham portal for the past 2 years, if not longet, with no success or help from lewisham housing.
I have tried registering, but apparently my account is active. I've tried resetting my password but I receive no email (and yes I checked my spam). I have called them for help with this but I get no where.

I'm actually trying to pay my rent through here but I can not as I can not login in. I usually pay a different way but that's not an option at the moment. So now they will send me letters about rent now

Now i can't get updates about my rent account balance
Using the txt service no reply for the last 2 days
