Not a great experience.
As some other reviews have mentioned I felt they were trying to upsell on our initial telephone call to the extent I even remarked on it to the advisor. However we decided to take out LPAs & were quoted a fee we thought was reasonable. Once these were done & sent off I got another shock on receiving request for registration fee from the Public Guardians office as we were given the impression this was included in the fee charged by secure legacy. I queried this & received a phone call back saying this wasn’t the case & I could have cancelled the contract with them within 2 weeks & had a refund! Point is I didn’t realise within this 2 weeks that there would be additional registration fees to pay! They also, as others have mentioned, included themselves as executors in our wills, which we didn’t want, so asked for them to be removed. They also tried to upsell their will storage facility. Again not something we wanted. All in all not a great experience & they need to read the negative reviews as there seems to be some common themes here.
In response to their reply. I have put my complaint in writing to you by email.

Really bad experience
Really bad experience. Mirror wills for my hubby and I. Second marriage so bit more complex with step kids involved. Told them our executors names and our wishes. They sent the drafts. They had included themselves as the second executors in both wills. Fail to tell us this until we got drafts, fail to say how they charge a fixed percentage for this, they completely got the split wrong on our house and assets. They had included my step daughter in mine even though I never mention her in my wishes and did the same on my hubby’s with my kids. I was in shock. Like we had been talking to someone who had never heard a word of what we wanted. They offered a 200 refund but I refused. I would never trust them to get it right. Complete insult including themselves as executors. Lost confidence completely. Do not use this company. I asked for refund , told no as my 14 day cooling off had expired. Said 14 days from conversion but their website says 14 days from draft documents. I argued this but still refused by admin manager. Then got call to say ok , it was last day of the 14 days today so could refund . Very rude admin manager. Don’t pay upfront until get drafts or just don’t use at all.
I have all the evidence of the telephone conversation with your company plus the draft wills that include so many errors. I’m sure you must have listened to the conversation by now and if you can’t find my details the conversation was had on the 20/7/26. You proceeded to amend the wills but then included , I needed permission from the beneficiary to sell my property. Never my request ? I think the biggest insult was including yourselves as the executors when that was never discussed or the rates you charge for that!

I placed a 1 star negative review…
I placed a 1 star negative review because I could not get my Will. Reception would not give me the tracking number, once I spoke to someone else and got the tracking number I found the Will had been delivered to the wrong address so bad review should go to Royal Mail. Although I had to wait for my Will I am very pleased with the end product.

All of our will writers have a legal and ethical duty of care to highlight any potential vulnerabilities or risks in a client’s estate planning. That means we are required to explain additional protections, even if a client has come in only wanting the basics.
The intention is never to pressure, but to ensure that clients are making fully informed decisions, rather than discovering later that something important was never mentioned.
Ultimately, all decisions always remain with you.

Poor service
We had a 15 minute call and explained our needs and wishes - the wills we received were no way a reflection of the conversation - I felt the person on the end of the phone was more interested in upselling then offering the service we orginally bought - I now have to email all of our amends - poor service and would never recommend.
