I bought fake goods of a seller and eBay would not help at all. They're even had a complete from the real brand I bought from nutrition Geeks as the seller was selling fake magnesium products. They're apparently said they are closing down this seller. Well she's still got an account opened. EBAY DOE'S NOT HAVE BUYER PROTECTION. That is a lie.

eBay aren't interested in the private seller. In March 2025 eBay added a 75p buyer protection fee plus a percentage of final sale cost to all private seller items. As of the 6th August they have reduced that fee to 10p but increased the percentage of final sale cost by an additional 5%. On top of that you will no longer be able to set your own postage and you are being forced to use their simply postage platform which can be up to 3 times more expensive than normal postage.. Buyers are going to stop supporting the private seller. My sales have fallen by over 50% since March and I would expect the other 50% to vanish. eBay want you to become a business seller so non of those fees apply , however, they then charge an extortionate fee per month for the privilege.. there is only 1 winner and that's eBay......

Now full of scammers from overseas.

Basically you send stuff, they say not delivered even though it is tracked by the deliver company

Your fees get cancelled, they keep the delivered product and there is nothing you can do.

After 25 years on here chinning it off. Not worth the hassle.

AVOID ebay

It is absolutely unbelievable how ebay treats its customers. It is hard to talk to anyone from customer service, everyone seems untrained, everyone says something different, everyone sends you to a different team, everyone is protecting themselves. When they do not know what to say they just end the online chat and then tell you that you left the chat yourself. I managed to contact the managers team who also have nothing to say. They also protect their subordinates. No one wants to apologize for the mistakes and problems they create. I am appalled by such very poor service.
After 16 years it is time to say goodbye.

Charged me for an item I did not sell. This is despite Ebay declaring no selling fees, I will not sell on ebay again DISHONEST COMPANY

Buyers beware, I purchase an item that showed as £45.59 in the basket and eBay charged me £47.59, I quested the extra £2.00 charged and half an hour later still not resolved. One adviser said it's a tax charge, another said it your bank charging you, so if they can't sort the problem they just deceive you.

Ebays new policy change has upset not only me but many others. holding sellers funds till 2 days after delivery in which anything can happen to your item in their possession for 2 days. Also now the funds are being held seller shave no way of paying the couriers the postage costs and some items are very high value/heavy & large and much more expensive to post UK let alone abroad. Ebay have been very unhelpful yet again! and now they want buyers to pay for a protection they already have! how much more protection can buyers have when they already get away with so much even with sellers evidence that in a court of law would be valid and looked at, yet ebay don't look at it and side with the buyer every time!

they have superficially said that funds are only now released if tracking shows delivered, yet tracking often has glitches, yet the buyers sometimes leave feedback saying item delivered. though ebay say feedback is no enough to release funds it has to show tracking as delivered, to think that technology is full proof and working 100% 365 days a year is dangerous indeed!

I was in hospital for just over 4 months after a serious incident. Bad enough…. My husband does not use eBay…but during the horror of it all he was thinking of others ( hero I would say) and sorting things as I could not, and I had stuff listed on ebay. Some sold during my period of absence and he worked out How to cancel orders so buyers were not left hanging and gave generic excuses ( of course my situation was personal) My ABOVE STANDARD rating fell to below standard and once I was recovered enough I confided in ebay what had happened, only to be told we won’t do anything as your account was accessed….YES I told them my husband sorted things best he could! Should he have done absolutely nothing so buyers would have no idea what would have happened/ been waiting pointlessly on their goods ? I think not. Ebay, your people have ZERO common sense and humanity. PUT YOURSELF IN MY PLACE…..WHAT ON EARTH WOULD YOU HAVE GELT LIKE!? 😡😡😡

Never ever sell anything on here. I got scammed by a buyer and now eBay is sending me to a debt collection agency. Sold something on here, buyer said they never received (despite all the tracker being done by eBay showed it was received). EBay sided with the buyer despite the evidence and are now sending me to a debt collection agency for the postage. Ridiculous scam. Stay away.

After using ebay for years. I will never use them again. After accruing extra costs due to buying outside the uk, which was not advertised on the sellers site. Being told you can only see this information on a main computer!!! Well i use an ebay app along with everyone else. So you wont see all the information either. Also being told i should know about buying outside the UK. Ebay were not helpful, Wont ever use them again.

Ordered a Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream from seller Lucchro. Took nearly 2 weeks to arrive. I asked why the delay. I know now! It came from China! Very damaged box covered in Chinese writing and a pathetic attempt to copy Charlotte Tilbury. This person sells it as genuine. I should have looked because the feedback shows they did it to others with the same product. Why are Ebay not banning them? They also removed the feedback button because I told them I was going to leave a bad review. Avoid this seller!

I purchased Christmas foil decorations , I tried to hang them from my ceiling and there was a part of it that would not unfold , when I looked the staples were in the wrong place so when I tried to pull them out to their full length they just broke. I managed to staple one to where they should have been stapled but I gave up when the second and third one was the same.I did not even try with the fourth one.

I was browsing site when i found exact same thing i found last night and reported both times.

I can tell you that, this photo dose not represent what the elite series 2 looks like. This seller continues to mis sell their products. The controller in the photo is a series x controller. Not elite one or two.

I continue to report but you chose to continue to ignore.

So i am going to inform trading standards and actively publise this on trust pilot. People need to be aware, your not here to help them, infact your complisent on helping fraudalent sellers depose then of their money.

Be careful people even they are actively helping frausters operate on their site

A very dated system. Feedback can be very damaging to a seller. EBay always sides with buyers in a dispute because the customer is always right. Some not all buyers are very conniving and use this to their advantage and claim they didn’t get their item. So tracking is a must but with delivery prices so high these days if you going to sell something for £2 the minimum postage with tracking in 2024 is £2.70 no one will ever buy anything from you. The estimates delivery times given to buyers by eBay are unrealistic and not inline with Royal Mail.
Royal Mail aim to deliver first class next day but can take up to 7 working days according to their website but eBay will put 2 days anything after this buyers are free to open a claim based on false estimates. I have spoken to eBay customer service but English is not their first language so it’s like talking to a wall. I have been using eBay for over 10 year and about to close my account.
It’s no wonder is now free to list. Everyone is leaving to use the rivals.

EBay Seller sent item by EBay Packlink, Evri being the chosen Courier.
Item not where said through a blurred photo of my bins.
Seller opened case after many awkward chats. She wanted control on this.
I opened a case over the phone on eBay advice.
Asked EBay Advisors to intervene on their said date, but they gaslighted me on several occasions. After I had done everything as I should.
EBay believe the Courier above the Buyer even with evidence.
Pointless questions over and over, that don’t make sense, don’t fall for their false empathy.. madness.
1st complaint in 15 years!! And they treated me appalling. I won’t be purchasing from this site no more.

E Bay has a code of guidance for sellers. It includes a prohibition on abuse. I attempted to report a seller “GDSUK” for telling me to “F off” when I asked for time to install a remote garage door fob. I was too unsteady on my feet to use a ladder needed to access the motor unit.

However the on-line report form does not work - pressing “submit” just returns the user to the form.

And contacting E Bay in other ways is in practice not an option.

Traded for 24 years on ebay today is the end now with holding money for postage labels cut you when making calls to ebay representatives it's just becoming more of hassle they are making it harder for sellers and buyers with their new policies and I will be closing my account I will be using Viinted in future will be less hassle

I received an email from ebay about a safety product recall on a carbon monoxide detector and to contact the seller. The seller denied anything was wrong. The unit was clearly malfunctioning. No way to get back to ebay about this in their guarded fortress inaccessible by phone or messaging.
An organisation that receives safety recalls about their products but declines to engage in two way communications with the buyer is a cowboy operation.
