Rocky start, but all is well that ends well

Edit: Despite a rocky start (original review below), customer support was very quick this time around. They corrected the mixup quickly, sending us the correct sized frame and arranging a home pickup for the incorrectly sized frame. They appear to have made changes to their customer service department and, at least for us, it was much better.

The frame itself was easy to assemble and looks great. Our daughter loves it!

New experience is 5/5, but ultimately 4/5 given the previous experience.

[Original Review]
We ordered a twin sized bed frame and mattress from them in mid December. The mattress finally arrived in early February. The frame was still yet to be seen. When we contacted them to get an ETA on the frame we were told there was a production delay for the frame. After a month or so we contacted them again and didn't hear back for weeks, and even then it was just generic, "We will let you know as soon as it's in stock." After contacting them several times they eventually gave a nominal partial refund for the delay and, after 5 months, in late April, we finally got a frame shipped to us.

At this point, the frame was clearly no longer an Christmas present, as we had planned, so instead we decided it was to be our daughter's birthday present, which was another month away. Imagine our shock and disappointment when we went to set it up today and realized the frame they sent was the wrong size. We now have to wait now for their unresponsive customer service to sort this all out. Not holding our breath for a quick resolution, if we get one at all. We were hoping to support a Canadian company, but honestly should have just bought something from IKEA.

I ordered a double size bed frame for…

I ordered a double size bed frame for my special needs daughter and she loves it and I don’t have to worry about her falling out of bed. Only reason for 3 stars is because delivery took longer than the date than my email said and customer service never got back to me about why ups wasn’t picking it up or what was going on with it.

Great Quality Montessori Bed – Worth the Effort!

I recently purchased a Montessori bed for my toddler from MimiBeds, and overall, I’m very happy with the experience! The quality of the bed is excellent — both the frame and the mattress feel sturdy and well-made. My son adapted to his new bed quickly and comfortably, which was a big relief.

The bed did take more time to assemble than I had expected, which is the only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5. That said, everything else went really smoothly: the order arrived on time with no delays, and communication with the MimiBeds team was outstanding throughout the process. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a beautiful, toddler-friendly bed!

We ordered the ARY CLASSIC HOUSE BED. Although the delivery took some time, almost 3 weeks, it was worth it. The bed was beautiful. The materials used were high quality and the bed parts were well protected and covered. The instructions were also clear. I gave 4 out of 5 because of the delivery. Otherwise it would have been 5.

I love this bed

I love this bed. Most importantly my 16 month old grandson. Loves it to. He can get in and as he wishes. And I can keep him in when I need too. Amazing idea. Highly recommend it.

I was very hesitant on making my…

I was very hesitant on making my purchase because of all the mixed reviews but I decided to give it a go and try them out. I am definitely not disappointed!
I got the little dreamer in size Twin for my 2 year old son I love it so much. He sleeps so well and the mattress is so comfortable thank you mimibeds.
I would highly recommend anyone who is planning on transitioning their Lil one from crib to try one of these beds.

Prices are very reasonable.

Had a great experience ordering a floor bed from Mimi beds. On time tracking, delivery and great customer service.
The bed looked great and clear instructions for assembly. There was a paint defect on one of the pieces and while contacted their customer service and sent them the picture they resend the part.
Overall great experience.

I had a great experience buying from Mimi bed

I almost didn’t buy my baby’s floor bed because of the bad reviews, but I went to their Instagram instead and shared my concerns.

I received the floor bed 3 days later, and I also decided to get the mattress combo — which also arrived in 3 days.

I had a FANTASTIC experience. So I do think they’re worth trying out, as long as the product appears to be in stock and not on pre-order!

Don’t buy

We purchased the floor mattress with the bed frame for our 10 month old. The pieces were mislabeled and doesn’t fit properly. Having concerns we reached out for a refund or for someone to fix the bed as we got struck on the first step. The responded that they will reply in 24 hours. It’s been over a week no response.

Terrible customer service and horrible company

I contacted this company for a cancellation on my order and a refund. They have not bothered to respond. After reading multiple reviews I decided I no longer wanted their products and it doesn’t seem like they would be shipped on time anyways as they provide no updates on shipments. They have not bothered to respond to my concerns. It’s a big purchase I made so I’m very annoyed by their lack of response. Dont buy from them, you’ll definitely feel frustrated by their terrible customer service. Purchase from a reputable company instead of these scammers

100% would not recommend

100% would not recommend. Not sturdy at all. We ordered in Nov 2024 and didn’t receive until the end of March even though we were told we’d receive it by Feb. we ordered with a bumper and that STILL hasn’t arrived and it’s May 2025 now. The mattress doesn’t fit snug (there’s gaps on all four sides. Wish we didn’t buy from here.

SCAM!!

SCAM!!! Bought a braided bumper for my daughter’s crib and the product was never delivered. Contacted them via instagram, they started saying there was a delay and now they ghosted me.

Pire expérience avec une compagnie! Je voulais acheter d’une compagnie québécoise mais après 2 mois je n’ai jamais reçu le lit pour mon bébé!
J’ai reçu le matelas mais pas la structure.
Je suis chanceuse car j’ai toujours eu des réponses de leur service à la clientèle mais ils ont clairement un problème avec leur production/organisation/entrepôt.
J’ai eu mon remboursement rapidement au moins.
Mais j’ai fini par acheter sur Wayfair et je vais le recevoir en 1 semaine!
Tellement décevant! Je ne me suis jamais fait niaiser comme ça.
J’aurais dû lire les reviews sur ce site …mon grand regret.

Run, Don’t Walk — Avoid Mimi Beds at All Costs

I ordered two twin mattresses and two bed frames from Mimi Beds on February 17th, with a ship-out date of March 10th. No problem I waited the three weeks. The mattresses arrived but the frames were no where to be seen. I had to reach out to be told due to “production issues” shipping is delayed to March 31st an additional three weeks!

Okay March 31st came and went. No update, no care, no respect for their customers time.
I still waited patiently for another two weeks!! Finally, on April 14 I open the door relieved for the delivery to only see ONE bed frame BUT the shipping email said both were on the way.

I emailed them: ignored.
I commented on Instagram: they deleted my comments.
I DM’d them: silence.

I hounded them (mind you there is no phone number to call either) until they admitted they messed up and only shipped one frame and now the other one is out of stock till further notice. No timeline, no help, just a weak $100 offer that doesn’t even begin to cover the inconvenience they caused.

Meanwhile, I have two toddlers, two mattresses and only one bed.

They brand themselves as a “Canadian-owned family business,” but in reality they act like a scam operation. Believe all the other one star reviews I wish I did my research but didn’t know they were deleting negative Instagram comments.

I see on their about us section on the website the owner Farhad Rafiqui “the heart behind Mimi Beds,” well if you have a heart we are all just parents/guardians who wanted a bed for our children so make things right with your customers.

As of April 26 I am still short a bed frame.

Avoid Mimi Beds at all costs.

EDIT:

I finally received the second bed frame on May 3- nearly 11 weeks after my original order on February 17th. The lack of communication and false promises was ridiculous.

Mimi Beds keeps repeating they’re a “small team,” but being small is not an excuse for poor service. If you can’t handle order volume then don’t accept people’s money and make false promises.

It shouldn’t take constant hounding, deleted comments, and ghosting to get answers.

I would strongly advise future customers to spend their money with established retailers who actually deliver on what they promise.

It’s a legit scam

Bought the bed for my nephew to transition from his crib since my sister was pregnant with her second. The delivery took 2 months. I bought it in february and got it delivered yesterday. But with missing parts. The delivery delay stated on their website was 2-5 business days. It took 2 months for an incomplete bed. My sister delivered and now there’s a bed missing. Customer service doesn’t reply and they blocked me from facebook and Instagram for trying to comment my review and trying to get in touch with them. Looks like a scam. Avoid at all costs.

BUYER BEWARE: MOLD ON SLATS AND FALSE ADVERTISING

Do not order from this company! I wrote a negative review twice (which they have hidden from their website) because of safety issues, false advertising of photos on their website, and missing parts. Filtering out negative comments and reviews by a company feels deceitful as a buyer so I would warn any future buyers of this.

THEY HAVE REMOVED MINE AND OTHERS NEGATIVE COMMENTS REPEATEDLY ON THEIR SOCIAL MEDIA, as well as blocking these same customers on their platforms. Not a very professional way to do business.

I am editing this review less than two months after we received the bed… When we first opened the box there was a strong odour from the slats, and we didn’t think much of it until we found mold covering the slats today. We are disgusted, have removed the bed immediately, and are picking one up from a local company tonight so our toddler has a safe place to sleep. I contacted the company about this and was promised a refund and they told me UPS would be by days ago to pick up the moldy bed to ship back to them, and neither have happened. As others have stated, numerous emails have been sent for follow up on my part, with no response.

I cannot state enough to not trust their ETA for arrival of your bed because it is way off and they will keep moving the delivery timeframe. We needed this bed to transition our toddler in so our baby could have the crib, and it came way later than their advertised time frame, leaving us scrambling after the birth of our second. * They did offer us a $50 refund for the repeated delays * In addition we actually had to go to our local Purolator to pick it/track it down, as it had been stuck in transit with no help regarding delivery from the company.

I don’t think I’ve ever tried so hard to get my honest feedback across about a company before. Please do better and stop removing negative comments off your website and social media from honest customers.

Below is the original review I wrote on their website which they removed numerous times:

“For the same price I would opt to go to wayfair or a different seller. First off, this bed was on pre-order and the company kept giving us different delayed times of when the bed would arrive: the pre-order dates on the site aren’t even close to being correct. When we finally received it, we were incredibly disappointed.

There is no quality to this product. The front rail is extremely flimsy, especially if you aren’t using the door (which we are, and even still, it’s pretty flimsy.) There are small plastic pegs to cover holes that easily come out, which is a huge choking hazard considering this bed is for toddlers… I have linked a video. Any other piece of furniture we’ve bought that has these plastic plugs, always fit snug. These literally can just lift out and fit so loose. Therefore our toddler isn’t sleeping in the bed until we can figure a way to make this safe.

Buyer beware: This company false advertises. Pictures of the actual product are edited to remove unpleasant aesthetics such as screws/bolts/door hardware etc. This false advertising and altering of pictures makes the product seem clean and streamlined and was a big reason why I ordered here vs wayfair or another place. See side by side pictures: I have circled areas in the photos where it’s now obvious, exactly where they photoshopped the bed. I can see photoshopping other parts of an image, but photoshopping the actual product itself is deceitful.

We were also missing pieces that were required as per the instructions: for example, it says you need four “m’s” but they only supply two (see pictures). And the instructions are terrible: the diagrams in the instructions don’t match the labelled pieces on the actual parts. As someone who has built a lot of furniture this was extremely frustrating to try to assemble, especially with missing pieces.” *Unfortunately I can’t link the videos/photos here.*

I am extremely disappointed with my…

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with MiniBeds. The delivery was a complete mess—late, unorganized, and with no clear communication. When I contacted their customer service, I was met with unhelpful responses and a clear lack of professionalism. A customer service agent had agreed to reimburse a percentage of the cost as compensation for the long wait, but that refund was never processed to my credit card. They simply never paid it back, which in my eyes amounts to robbing their customers. It quickly became obvious that this is a very small company that doesn’t have the capacity to manage orders properly. I would never buy from them again, and I strongly recommend that others avoid them as well.

Do NOT buy from them

Company advertised appealing shipping timelines, but repeatedly failed to meet them—postponing delivery without any clear updates. This is particularly frustrating as we had a specific deadline: transitioning our toddler to a bed so that our newborn could use the crib. This process has dragged on for over two months, and your team has since stopped responding altogether.

We chose to support a Canadian business over larger retailers like Wayfair or Amazon, but this experience has been deeply disappointing and feels unethical.

Bad Customer Service. Bed is Months Late and Might be a Scam.

My wife and I purchased a bed for our daughter. It's now over 2 months late and we can't get answer from them. They're emails seem to be templates and never address what you write in your email. We've asked for a phone number and we're not able to get one.

Unfortunately it seems to have the worst customer service I've encountered. We're now worried we've been scammed and the bed will never show.

Go any where else for a bed. Mimi is not a reputable company.
